Elizabeth Berg writes such amazing stories and builds brilliant characters that you let into your heart. I always look forward to her writing.

The characters in this book completely charmed me. It took a few chapters to get them straight, but they were delightful.

Good quick read; I didn’t want to put it down. Easy to connect with characters and plot. I enjoyed this book and story line!

Lucille has been inspired by her old friend Arthur Truluv (see earlier novel by this author). The kindness and baking just jump right off the page in this charming read.

So after reading and loving “The Story Of Arthur Truluv” I had to read this book. This book focused on Lucille, who we are introduced in the first book. Lucille is old and set in her ways. Has no problem making her opinions known and has a good heart. I really liked this story as it talks about living your life to the fullest and taking chances. In this book we catch up with Maddy and Nola. It was so nice to catch up with them and see that everything is going well. We are also introduced to some new people as well in the story. I loved seeing their journeys and coping with the unknown. Reading this story made me feel like I was with old friends. The last few chapters tugged at my heart. I’m really happy to have met Arthur and Lucille. They are both so different but brought so much perspective to my life. This was a feel good story about starting over, taking chances, facing hard obstacles and just living one day at a time.

I have read and truly enjoyed other books by Elizabeth Berg, but this one just could not keep my attention. I stopped at page 75 because I got bored with the story. Sorry!

I reviewed this late as I wanted to read Her other book first. I love her as an author now. Her characters are great. I am going to request all her books.

It is a sweet and heartwarming read. Bittersweet in many ways. You will find yourself experiencing many emotions as you’re reading it. That’s what makes it such an enjoyable read.
The setting takes place in Mason, Missouri. You will be introduced to new characters as well as meeting up with old ones.
If you believe in miracles... put this on your TBR list.

A Night of Miracles is the second of 3 books set in the small town of Mason. The town is almost a character in all the books. You dont have to have read the previous book in order to enjoy A Night of Miracles, but the settings and characters overlap, so the experience is fuller if you read all the Mason books.
The characters in this novel are quirky, fully dimensional and intriguing. There's a hint of magical realism in the series that is entertaining. The pacing on this one seemed a little slow. The thing that I most appreciated was that Ms Berg uses dialogue well and it suited the characters and the situations.

I really couldn't connect to the people in the book and I found the adults to be very childish in the way they acted.

Night of Miracles follows The Story of Arthur Truluv and here is this story with catch up with Lucile. Inspired by Authur she spreads kindness through her baked goods. Reading Night of Miracles is like sharing a piece of her sliced cake with these characters in this community.

Night of Miracles is a charming, heartbreaking and heartwarming story with endearing characters that explores human connections through a community. It explores the effects of down to earth kindness can have on a community in times of crisis and when characters get to that age where they feel they are dismissed by society for their age. We see how Lucile who feels she hasn’t much to offer other than her baked goods makes a huge difference in a family in crisis giving them hope.

The story touches on some heartbreaking issues here however Elizabeth Berg keeps it light and focuses more on the heartwarming moments that make a difference in the lives of these characters.

I highly recommend grabbing a nice warm cup of cocoa and snuggle up with this feel-good story

As a big fan of Arthur Truluv, I had high expectations for this sequel. I can appreciate how difficult it must be for an author to try and duplicate such a successful book. While Night of Miracles continues the story of a few of the original characters (Lucille, Maddie and Nola) that Arthur brought together in the first book, the new characters and their issues were too cookie-cutter. The title led to the entire novel being predictable. Lucille's story was the most interesting and the only reason I finished the book. I would have enjoyed the story more if Lucille played a bigger part and a few of the other minor characters were left out. It's still an easy read but Arthur Truluv should be read first as that is the love story of a lifetime.

Love this! It was such a charming story with such remarkable characters! I read the prior book and this book back to back and was thoroughly enchanted. Such a heartwarming feel good story a perfect example of uplit!

It was lovely revisiting familiar characters from Arthur Truluv and getting to know new ones. Night of Miracles continues the simple stories of Lucille, Maddy, and Nola in the charming small town, Mason, Missouri, as well as weaving in new stories to reflect changing relationships, health, and friendships. The novel is an enjoyable, but simple read.

I loved this book! What a beautiful story with wonderful development of characters. This story takes place five years after the end of The Story of Arthur Truluv and is about Lucille, one of the main characters. But this is not a sequel. A great story about friendship and love that leaves you wanting more!

Mason isn’t a big metropolis, but it is filled with residents with wonderfully big hearts. Lucille Howard is a very busy senior and her baking classes revealing the secrets of her Southern yellow cake and other sweet treats are a big hit. In fact, they’re so popular Lucille hires new Mason resident, Iris, to lend a hand…even though Iris is no baker when she starts helping Lucille.

When her new next-door neighbors face a family crisis, Lucille is there to step in and offer support and assistance.

There are a number of interesting and conflicted residents in Mason, each facing his or her personal challenges and changes. How each links with the other and how they handle what life has thrown at them makes for a story that makes the reader want to be a part of the community.

Night of Miracles is a story to savor, with characters who you will be interested to get to know.

I loved returning to Mason, Missouri and reconnecting with some of the characters from the first novel in this series, The Story of Arthur Truluv. I think I enjoyed the first book more, but liked this one too. It's a quick sweet read and not a bad way to escape for a weekend.

Her baking classes have become more popular than ever, and she decides to hire Iris as an assistant. Iris has recently moved to Mason and quickly becomes friends with both Lucille and Tiny, Iris's neighbor, helping Tiny get up the nerve to ask out Monica, the waitress he has a crush on. When Lucille's neighbors receive some terrible news - the mom has cancer, - Lucille agrees to watch their son Lincoln while his mom gets treatment.

This is a sequel to <I>The Story of Arthur Truluv</I>, and I definitely recommend reading that book before <I>Night of Miracles</I>. If you liked <I>Arthur Truluv</I>, you'll like this book. The characters are all uniquely lovable, and the story is uplifting and at times funny. I hope Berg continues to write about the small town of Mason, Missouri!

I had not read the first book, The Story of Arthur Truluve, as suggested, however I found this book to be fine as a stand alone story. Reading about a small town and the characters who live in it was a nice respite for the hectic daily lives we all live today. The thread of the connections made in this book is its charm and makes one hope that those connections can still be made if we take the time. This is a feel-good book, with a message we should all take to heart.

This is the follow up to one of my favorite books of 2018, The Story of Arthur Truluv, and continues following some of the main characters after Arthur has passed away. Upon reading this book, it occurred to me that I loved the first one so much because of Arthur. Berg's development of his character was so complex and charming, it was hard not to fall in love with the man. While the others in this story were likable on their own, it just wasn't the same.
