Sometimes life seems too good to be true with dreams becoming reality. Clint Hart dreamed of becoming a furniture maker and through a chance meeting with Chip Gaines his achieved success. This book talks about the hard lean time before his furniture was featured on Fixer Upper and his life after success. He now has his own tv show on DIY network. Clint Harp talks about the importance of family and how he learned his craft from his Grandfather. Inspiration to anyone who dreams of starting their own business or pursuing happiness. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Loved him on Fixer Upper and enjoyed reading the story of how he was able to fulfill his dream of building furniture. Through all his ups and downs, Clint Harp and his wife never gave up on his dreams. A truly inspirational story.

“Handcrafted: A Woodworker's Story” by Clint Harp is the pull ‘em up by the bootstraps bio of Chip and Joanna Gaines’ carpenter from Fixer Upper. Clint tells it true ... the real deal of solopreneurship, as one who leapt free from a good-paying sales job to pursue his dream of being a full-time furniture maker. With his wife and family to feed, the early days proved near disastrous, until Clint’s serendipitous encounter with Chip at a gas station that led to work with the Gaines, airtime on Fixer Upper, and his own show, Wood Work on the DIY Network. Perhaps more than skill, mentorship, or money, we learn that faith and persistence are the most important equipment to have in a carpenter’s toolkit. Highly recommended!

I have followed the Fixer upper show... I didn't know Clint had his own show or that he was partners with the Gaines family. He obviously owes the show his success and I wish him well...but with that said, there wasn't anything too exciting about the book...just another celebrity of sorts telling a story that wasn't that interesting and was more just luck

Handcrafted by Clint Harp is a story of an underdog who fights his way up, and never gives up, and ends up fulfilling his dreams. You may recognize Clint Harp as Jo's craftsman on the hit HGTV show Fixer Upper, or from his own craftsman show on the DIY network, Woodwork. Although I have read many books of this type, this one has really resonated with me for some reason. Maybe it’s because he lays it all out there, the good, bad, and ugly. Clint shares his ups and downs, his failures and his fears. He isn’t afraid to show his not so good side, along with his good side. I realized about a quarter way through this book, that Clint’s story is a perfect example of everybody has a story that is worth telling. This book taught me that, if you learn from your mistakes, work hard, never give up, and trust God, then your dreams will one day be fulfilled. But maybe not exactly in the way you thought. It left me with a warm feeling of love and family. It’s a book I would recommend that everybody read.
