This is a review of the teaser...not the entire book.
I absolutely love this authors work, she never fails to deliver quirky characters that draw you in and engage you. I’ve loved Shen since we first met him, who wouldn’t want to hug that big panda? The MacKilligan sisters are an absolute riot and I am so happy to get more of them. For lovers of this author this will be a must read, if you haven’t read her work go to the beginning and make your way here. I feel a reread of her work coming on just from this teaser.

I really love this author, and had high hopes for this book. I was given a brief section to review, so my view was limited. Stevie and Shen are the two main characters, but the section I saw was a lot darker than others I've read by her. Not as snarky, and a little hard to get into the characters since the section didn't give a wide view. Would recommend, but like some of her other books better.

This is the second book in a trilogy but a book in a story Arc of shifters.

I would say that its possible to read this book as a stand alone but it would make the book much more enjoyable if you read the back log of books attached to.

The main characters are Stevie (honey badger) and Shen (Panda).

I didn't quite connect with Stevie as character in the in the first book but with the backstory given in the first chapter in this book you get to see the circumstances that have created her. I got a sense she is not as high strung as her sister Max makes her out to be ....

I loved Shen from the first book he appeared in with the other bear shifter books but I really didn't see it coming that he would be paired with Stevie.

Overall I can't wait to see where this book takes us.

This review is for the preview/sample.

I loved it! I’m already hooked! I can’t wait for this book 👏🏻❤️

This review is for the preview, and it was wonderful! We get a glimpse of young Stevie, her unique abilities, why her life took some of the turns it did, and part of her make-up. We also see a bit of Shen, and whether he likes it or not, the things he will do for her. And of course, there has to be a bad guy, some intrigue, and someone pulling the strings behind the scenes, and we get to see that as well. This whetted my appetite, and made me want the full story even more!

In a Badger Way is the second book in the Honey Badger Chronicles by Shelly Laurentson. Published by Kensington Books and with an anticipated release date in late March, 2019 this teaser chapter is a sample of the novel to come.

Paranormal humour/romance readers, especially those familiar with the author's other works will be in raptures. This is fun, full of drama and some whimsy and will please its target audience. The action sequences are completely over-the-top, but it's ecapist and undemanding.

For readers unfamiliar with the earlier stories in this series or with the related characters, this might not be the best entry point; there's not a lot of background information. It would probably be better to hunt down some of the background stories before diving into this one. There are a lot of very badly written wince-worthy paranormal romances out there. This one is well written and not cringe-worthy at all.

Four stars.

This was just the first chapters of the story, and I can't wait to read the whole thing! Stevie is an anxiety ridden hybrid, and absolutely one of my favorite characters in all of the shifter series yet. I cannot wait for the full book!

This is only a teaser but I love this book. Always thought that Shelly Laurenston writes the funniest books. Lots of LOL moments. The badgers are hilarious. Can't wait till this book actually comes out next year!

Even though just a tease (prologue & 1st chapter) that I got to read of this book, it shows everything you expect from the author -- great crazy fun characters, action, camaraderie, and lots of laughter (ok, not just laughter but outright bursts of giggles and laugh-out-loud guffaws as well). I do love the MacKilligan and can't wait to see Stevie turn poor Shen's easy going world upside down, inside out, and all turned around. The only bad part was that it was just a tease and now have to wait for the whole story.

In a Badger Way - 5 stars

Thank you netgalley for the ARC of an excerpt of In a Badger Way by Shelly Laurenston. . This is Honey Badgers #2' it is Stevie's and Shen ( the panda bodyguard ) story. I can not wait for the quips, funny dialogue, sarcasm and HONEY BADGERS!! In addition, I am very excited that they brought back the old narrator of the series; it just makes everything better.

I can't wait for March 26th! I'm a big Shelly Laurenston/G.A. Aiken fan. I think I've read all of her shifter series, which I really enjoyed and I read the first book in this new honey badger series. Ms. Laurenston is great at constructing interesting characters, all of whom have a few flaws. (Like us normal folks.) Reading this preview has me super excited for when I can read the complete book. Cue Honey Badger happy dance!

I received a free copy of an excerpt from In a Badger Way by Shelly Laurenston in exchange for an honest review. This appears to be Stevie MacKilligan and Shen Li’s story. The excerpt gives some more backstory on Stevie and also allows us a peek at what’s going on in Shen’s head as most of the current events are told from his viewpoint. In the snippet, Stevie is in the middle of a meltdown; she knows this is unreasonable behavior and wants to calm down, but she can’t. Shen is the only responsible adult around at the time, so he comes up with a plan to resolve the Stevie situation. I love these books, and this one looks like it is going to be fantastic. I anxiously await the publication of the full novel.

This excerpt was amazing and wonderful and yet disappointing because i am now waiting on the edge of my seat for the full book. March cant come fast enough. Shelly Laurenston is a master at creating complex characters that make you want to fall in love with them.

Loved it! Even though it was just a sneaky peek at the book, I was engaged from page one. Stevie is such an interesting character and I'm handing on my thread for March to get here so I can get my honey badger fix, Lol! This series promises to be amazing and from the snippet we get, book 2 will definitely live up the all the hype I'm feeling right now.

I'm really looking forward to this book being released in full, but I did enjoy getting to read a teaser. Laurenston is one of my favourite writers, one of the few that I reread. I enjoy the humour, hockey, and general insanity. I've recommended her previous books to friends in the past.

MacKilligans! I need it to be 2019 already so I can finish Stevie's book. The excerpt provided by NetGalley was such a tease. C'mon, she's a hybrid part honey badger shifter prodigy with a panic disorder and he's a happy go lucky giant panda shifter bodyguard - the world needs their story!

Hot and Badgered was one of my favorites from Shelly Laurenston (disclaimer: I'll read almost anything by Shelly Laurenston) and I can't wait for more from the ragey but loving MacKilligan sisters. It looks like the Van Holtzes and Jean-Louis Parker packs make wonderfully weird appearances as well. There are unnamed bears in the excerpt so I'm hoping for more of the Dunn triplets.

To be honest, my favorite of the MacKilligans is Max. I need it to be 2019 so we can get Stevie's book and then be that much closer to Max's, please and thank you.

Note: I voluntarily read and reviewed the excerpt of In a Badger Way generous provided by NetGalley and the publisher.

Thank you Netgalley and Kensington Books for this ARC. I knew this was only a brief glimpse of "In a badger way"; I didn't care! I love Shelly's shifter series so much and her previous book Hot and badgered, I just wanted to read anything while waiting for it to be published. We were introduced to the MacKilligan sisters in Hot and badgered and now it's brilliant but panic-stricken Stevie's turn to step up to the plate. I have loved bambo smacking Shen Li since he was introduced in Bite me! Stevie is terrifed of bears...and Shen is a Panda bear shifter....can't wait to read more!!!!

From the excerpt, this book promises to be just as good as the first one. Loved that prologue! Sadly, it is need keeping me in suspense about what Stevie was about to do. Can’t wait until this book comes out and I can read it in Full.

I didn't read the description carefully enough so I was unaware that we only get the prologue and the first chapter. Bummer, I was really excited to read this book. I am still excited but now just have to wait until March 2019. I have not read a Shelly Laurenston book in years but I have not forgotten how funny her stories are. Just the snippet we got in this teaser I can tell it is going to be a good one, but I have so many questions! Just from reading the synopsis, I am already going to love the thought of the honey badger wanting to cuddle a panda, how fun is that going to be! I definitely need to check out the first book in this series, Hot and Badgered.

I received the prologue and first chapter of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My thoughts and opinions are my own.
