This is the second book in the Anything but Trouble series and it did not disappoint. I could not put this book down!

Landon Cox is the drummer for the band Nothing But Trouble. He appears to everyone to be a playboy and life of the party but behind closed doors he is a loner and hiding from his past and wondering what could have been with the girl he left behind years ago Piper Hastings.

Piper Hastings moved to LA to work for a PR agency, the same agency that looks after the band. She had managed to avoid Landon for a few years but when she was assigned to the band to help Shane's girlfriend it was only a matter of time before their paths crossed. Piper is still hurt and wondering why Landon left years ago without a word. When their paths cross backstage at a concert one night the fire and passion is still there.

Will they be able to have a second chance and overcome what has happened in the past along with the current problems?

What a poignant, and steamy, second chance romance! Piper and Landon fell in love in college when Landon was a struggling musician. Landon disappeared one night without an explanation, leaving Piper heartbroken. Now years later they are thrown back into each other's orbit and are given a second chance. They realize their attraction is stronger than ever and their chemistry is still explosive. Landon has lived with deep regret for choosing music over Piper and jumps at his chance to make things right with the only woman he's ever loved. Piper doesn't see the 'Rock God' but the orphaned boy who just wants to be loved. When he needs her help, she will do what it takes to protect him.
But Piper is tired of making her decisions based on a man in her life. She is determined to have Landon on her own terms. They find their way back to each other but still have so much to overcome. I liked that it wasn't easy but a journey that tore down their walls to rebuild a stronger foundation.
I love Ms. Leigh's writing and how she covered sensitive issues with honesty and empathy. I especially love the ending. This is a beautiful story that is heartrending, complex, and very sexy. I am really falling for the men from Nothing But Trouble and the strong women who love them, and can't wait for more!

As a fan of rock star romances I would consider Ms. Leigh one of the best in her crafting of the Nothing But Trouble series as it packs an emotional punch through its engaging characters and raw and gritty depiction of fame. With each installment we become more invested in the lives of these flawed musicians and root for them every step of the way. In this newest installment two people get a second chance to find the HEA that alluded them six years ago, while dealing with new pain over an injury that could end everything for the hero.

Landon Cox grew up in the foster care system, the son of addicted parents, always keeping his heart hidden as he never thought he’d be worthy of a family. Finding a family of his own changes his life irrevocably though, opening his heart to love but breaking it too after a horrible tragedy sent him running from the pain. He luckily stumbled across his bandmates and they became their own kind of family, one that embraced their individual pain while creating new problems associated with fame and fortune. At a crossroads, Landon found the sweet and picture perfect Piper and for two months his life was happy and fulfilling until devotion to his band had him leaving her behind. He never forgot her though. Each one-night stand was an attempt to excise her from his soul, but he could never replace her. An unexpected reunion has him doing all he can to claim her, revisiting his past and sharing his pain, in an attempt to be worthy of her. Just when they seem on the path to HEA, his anger and self-judgment lead to tragedy and could very well end the career that has defined him and given him self-worth. Landon’s the quintessential rock star in both looks and attitude. He’s a bit cocky, a bit arrogant, but also sexy and charming. It’s a delicious mask hiding the raw pain of a past that won’t ever let go of him as he continues to carry guilt over something not his fault. He desperately wanted to get Piper back in his life and the moments of joy and contentment seen when they were together were immensely satisfying. It was a difficult recovery for him, both physically and emotionally, but one that pulled me in wholeheartedly. It had me cheering him on as he was a man deserving of love and happiness after all the pain he dealt with throughout his life.

Piper Hastings’s childhood was also rough as the lies surrounding her birth had her father treating her and her mother with indifference. It was abuse through subtle hatred and left both women with self-esteem issues that affect them still. Growing up Piper tried in vain to earn her father’s love by being the perfect daughter, the top of her class and beloved by all. Living up to that perfect mold was difficult though and had her always doubting her appeal. Finding Landon she thought she finally found HEA. He loved her unconditionally, loved her perfectly coiffed but messy even more in a romance that was sweet and sensual. Leaving her without a word broke her heart and once again left her self-esteem in shambles with her turning towards a man clearly not in love with her. She now just wants to live a safe life, one where she keeps her heart hidden. Being around Landon again makes it difficult to keep her heart indifferent as he slowly works his way back into her heart and soul as their romance goes down a rocky road to HEA. Piper’s an immensely appealing heroine, hard working, and caring despite all the bruises inflicted on her heart. It’s clear she longs to be with him but her past has taught her to be cautious, and despite their erotically-charged encounters, there’s a sense of her holding back at times. Being with him has her no longer chasing after someone else’s idea of perfection, she now defines herself in her own terms and I applauded her finally becoming empowered.

Second chance romances make for powerful reads as there’s already a strong foundation for the main couple to build on. Ms. Leigh built a memorable foundation for Piper and Landon, one of joy but also heartbreak, as young love was torn asunder. They’re both older and wiser now and it makes their journey even more of a gut-punch as the past is revealed along with new issues that made them even more vulnerable. Landon’s a delicious hero, sweet and sexy, whose addictions are growing stronger. It had me aching for him as he hit rock bottom before rising back up in a very satisfying conclusion. Piper’s a good support for him, putting aside her own pain when he needs her most. They’re a crackling couple in scenes both scorching and sentimental as they easily picked up where they left off. I enjoyed the glimpses we got of the other members of Nothing But Trouble too. I enjoyed their brotherly banter and their gritty and exhilarating moments on stage that pulled me on stage beside them. As the story progressed, things changed dramatically for both Piper and Landon, forcing them into seeing themselves in a much different light. The epilogue was near perfect and gave me all sorts of warm fuzzies that put an exclamation point to all that came before. This series continues to shine with characters that I truly care about as romance is beautifully balanced with intense emotions that pull at reader’s heartstrings. Though this book can be read on its own, this series is made richer by reading each installment and growing closer to each of these unforgettable bandmates.

I knew it. I just knew I would Love it. And I was not disappointed.
Rock Legend was just what I expected and so much more than I even thought to expect.
I expected so much because I had already read Rock King my review is here. As part of a series I was delighted to see the other characters brought back. Don't think you have to read Rock King.
Each of the books in the series are written as a stand alone.
It was nice to see some of the other characters from the previous book and if my guesses are correct we'll see at least a little more in book 3 about Dex another member of the band.
Rock Legend was a bit of a surprise for me. Since I had already met the characters I think I had a few expectations. I have to admit Tara Leigh met them and gave me much more by giving us some great well developed characters.
Albeit Landon has some Alot of issues deep down he is a great guy.
Once he sorts things out he becomes the man he is meant to be.
Having had a troubled childhood and then getting into a good foster family as a teenager things start getting good until a tragedy strikes causing Landon to run from the home.
All goes well as he becomes a member of the band and he is off to stardom and all that goes with. But Landon is troubled by his past and makes some decisions that play into the grief and confusion he tries to ignore.
Then Piper happens into his life again.
As Piper tries to ignore the sparks and sizzle Landon tries to fan the flames and persuade Piper to take a chance on him.
Through some twists and turns and the two finally get together in the end.
There are lots of sparks and my jazzy grandma would really blush and think twice about this one. But the story is so good I'd tell
'Granny get a fan and a glass of wine and enjoy the read'.

Rock Legend is a great read. I loved this story and look forward to the next one in the series.

4 My Home CROWNS

Rock Legend is the second stand alone in the Nothing But Trouble series, and the journey of Landon and Piper is so sweet and sexy. Watching these two broken people find redemption in each other's arms and a home together is perfection.

Landon was a broken boy who grew up into a broken man.  He carries the weight of the world on his shoulders, and, as result, lives a life that punishes himself.  His choices are made based on his self perception and what he thinks he deserves. What readers get to see is a man who has to realize his self worth and find that he is worthy of a family and love. Readers are going to love him and all his pieces.

Piper is another sad soul who has lived a life feeling completely unwanted. She once thought she found someone who would love her, and that shattered, which has left her a bit guarded. What readers are going to love about Piper is who they get to see her become. She, by he end of the book, is stronger and doesn't find her worth in others but in herself. She is better able to love when she realizes this is enough.

Rock Legend is a romance. It follows the typical broken manwhore and the woman he left behind, but it is more about finding a home. These two are so lost, searching for someone to love and to feel worthy of that love. Watching these two deal with their demons, heal, and find their home with each other is so rewarding, and at the end of the story I was left with a feeling of contentment.

Rock Legend is a romance that is filled with hope - the promise that you can find a group of people who will love you uncondicitionally, that there are always second chances when it comes to the heart, and that love can heal the soul. Tara Leigh is creating a family with this group of rockers, and I am loving every minute of it.

What a great story. I haven't read any of Tara's other books, so coming in this series at book 2 I was a little lost but let me tell you.... No Worries!!! I picked right up and dove in and read along and finished this book in a day!!!.

This is a beautiful second chance at love, finding out who you really are and being the person who you were meant to be. The feelings of coming back from rock bottom and self loathing were just so amazing, I can't wait for the next book! And in the mean time I'll catch up with book 1!! 5 stars for this one!

What a brilliant story. I have not read any of Tara's previous books, so coming in this series at book 2 was a little disconcerting. Let me tell you.... No Worries!!! I picked right up and sailed along reading this book in a few hours. Anything that happened in book 1 was not too ingrained in this one.

This is a serious second chance at love, finding out who you really are and being the person you were meant to be. The emotions of coming back from rock bottom and self loathing were just so wonderful. Cannot wait for the next book. Headed back to read the other books that Ms. Leigh has published!

I am such a sucker for rockstar stories. This series has definitely become a favorite of mine so far. I am loving this one even more than the first. Such a great storyline. It is beautiful and sexy and I loved the characters. They are well developed and multidimensional and I was sucked into their story and their world. I can't wait to read more from this series!

Clearly my rating is not in line with everyone else's so keep that in mind.

I found the characters to be incredibly immature and difficult to relate to. Eventually I started to like Landon, but it was hard though maybe that's how the author wanted it. Piper on the other hand, even until the end I didn't like her. The constant emotions, the back and forth, the anger, the woe is me...it was too much.

And I'm sorry, really... it never entered her mind that even though they used a condom that Landon could have been the father? Did she really think that condoms prevented 100% of pregnancies? There was no question: did the condom break? Was it not effective? No, instead she goes with the doctor's explanation that sperm can live for up to 5 days in the body. Why the hell didn't the the doctor remind her that condoms don't offer 100% protection?

The ending was confusing... as if the author tried to cram everything into one final chapter rather than taking the time to add a chapter and an epilogue.

Great second chance romance with rock star book. Piper and Langdon have troubled pasts but work to get find a way to be together. Tara Leigh writes a great story that keeps the readers turning the pages. These characters draw you in with their feelings, love and chemistry!

Landan endured a traumatic childhood which has left him with emotional scars which makes him leery to believe in love or trust others. When he became part of the band Nothing But Trouble he found his home and he was not prepared to let anything disrupt that especially a woman even if he has never forgotten her.

Piper’s childhood was not much better, and she has always yearned to be loved for who she was and thought she had found that with Landan until he broke her heart and crushed her dreams for their future.

Six years later Piper is working for the manger of the band and has managed to have no contact with Landan but that is about to change. From the moment they meet again the feelings between them are stronger than ever but is Piper willing to open her heart and let Landan back into her life and will their pasts bring them together or tear them apart?

This is an emotional story full of chemistry and romance about two people who are still bearing the scars of their past and they must heal if they are ever to have a second chance at love. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

I truly enjoyed Langdon and Piper story. This is a beautiful, frustrating, second chance romance. He is the drummer and she is the PA to the bands manager. Its great having a story told from both POV’s, really helps with the characters development. The story moves at a nice pace and times I can say was frustrated, trying to encourage them to get over their hang ups and keep moving forward

Okay I am glad I found out about Tara Leigh and her Nothing But Trouble series it is worth reading right now. I thought Shane in Rock King was bad ass but Landon Cox is that and much more. On the outside he seems to have it all but when it comes to Piper well you just want to love him forever. We see a Landon nobody sees not even Piper which can be awesome, sweet and sometimes scary. Tara Leigh have to say has me enchanted with this series and wanting more from this band. Readers beware once you get a taste of Nothing But Trouble you will crave for more. LOVED IT!!

If you looking for a rock star romance look no more!! Rock Legend is book 2 in the Nothing But Trouble series by Tara Leigh. It’s Landon and Piper’s story. While I enjoyed book 1, Rock King, so far this book is my fave in the series. It was the perfect mix of angst, heartache and hotness. A second chance rockstar romance.
Landon Cox is the drummer for Nothing But Trouble. When he is forced to make a decision about his commitment to the band, he gives up everything—Piper included. She is left behind as his fame skyrockets, with a broken heart and no explanation.
Piper Hastings grew up never being enough. On top of her family, now Landon’s rejection destroys her heart. She is left with sadness and anger. Six years later, they cross paths again. She should run. She should protect her still fragile heart. But Landon’s charms are hard to resist when there is still a connection there.

“We had unfinished business. Maybe what I needed wasn’t another chance. Maybe what I needed—what we both needed—was some goddamn closure. One night.”
Landon is living the rockstar life since the band hit the charts, sweeping the awards and becoming famous. Drugs, alcohol, and girls are his weapon of choice to drown out the voices in his head till Piper is back in his life. This is his second chance to make it work with the one he still misses no matter how rich and adored he is by fans.
“Looking at Piper now, I saw a beautifully complicated woman. A shifting kaleidoscope of past and present, darkness hiding within light, and bold, vibrant colors.”
I loved their connection from the very start. It was undeniable. Once we get to know Landon, it’s just hard to resist this bad boy of rock. Piper tries to protect herself as she is swept into Landon’s orbit once again. These two took me on a roller coaster ride as they attempt to find their way back to each other and also discover who they are. So buckle up and take this sometimes frustrating, angsty, complex, and hot as hell journey as these two try to find their way back to each other! I can’t wait for book 3!!

As I said when reviewing the first one thinking I really do not read too much of rock based novels anymore (product of the 70's) but this author got me to change my mind for this series with also wrapping me up with that guitar cord to stay in place for this one. You will get a bad boy drummer whom will show what lies behind the image he sometimes himself don't understand. Those are the kind you want to see who they really are but be careful they usually end up eating you up like Landon will do. I adore this is a second chance so when Piper explodes on the trail you lay back and enjoy the ride. This ride though will be turbulent with you getting sucked into their charisma. You also get to see how this author grows with it and when they get to be larger than life it will be thanks to the breath she breathes into her characters. So another one devoured that had depth and life with ending up well spent.

Landon's and Piper's story gutted me!!! These two had a love/hate relationship I could only hope that they would come up for air and see what they have. I knew that Piper had many reasons to stay away. Tara Leigh will not give you a typical rock romance. THE FEELS YOU GET! I was whole heartily invested with this story. I felt every emotion that Tara wants you to feel. You get hope, but can feel insecure. You get the love, but then the doubts. I laughed so hard then cried so hard. I loved hard on Landon, then cursed his name. Yeah I became a mad woman with this book.

Rock Legend was unexpected. It was breath of fresh air. I just have to say WOW! I felt this story down to my bones. At the end of the story, I was crying and smiling at the same time. Then I was hit with Tara's message with her author notes. It hits home for me. I loved book one, but astounded with book two. I am excited for book 3 in the Nothing But Trouble series!

Landon is the drummer for the Nothing But Trouble band. Piper is a public relations specialist. The couple were together during college. Landon made the choice to leave Piper for the band. Six years later, they meet up and sparks fly with old hurts coming to the surface. This book had all the feels such as heartbreak, sadness, joy and some shocking revelations. A great read, I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and am leaving a review.

Fabulous, sexy, angsty story! Loved it.

"I'd grown a thick skin early in life, and the only one who'd ever gotten under it, burrowing way down deep, was the woman in front of me."

Landon Cox is the wild, playboy drummer of Nothing But Trouble. Booze and women are his staples to drown out the loneliness and guilt that he's harboured for years. However, he's never forgotten the woman he basically ghosted six years earlier. When she suddenly appears back in his life, he's determined to get his second chance, although it's questionable just how much of a commitment he can make to her.

"Being under the same roof as Landon Cox filled me with a bizarre mix of exhilaration, dread, and absolute terror."

Piper has been in Landon's orbit, unbeknownst to him, for a few years but had managed to stay off his radar. She'd never understood why he had disappeared from her life, but she's never forgotten the hurt. One moment of weakness brings her face to face with him, and she finds it damn near impossible to shake him...even though her feelings are conflicted.

"The marks he'd left on me were just as bright, just as symbolic. Some beautiful, some ugly. Most painful. They had been etched deep below the surface of my skin, invisible to the naked eye."

This was a such a fab story! Landon and Piper are both somewhat damaged but I loved the connection they have. The chemistry between them was irresistible and they were uber hot together! I thoroughly enjoyed their story and the developments in the plot. The author gave us a gorgeous, solid story full of desire, anguish and hope.

I think this author goes from strength to strength and I can't wait for her next offering.

I have to say I am loving the Nothing But Trouble series by Tara Leigh. In Rock Legend we get an emotional, touching and heartbreaking second chance romance. So far, this is my favorite! I devoured Landon and Piper’s story.

Landon came from nothing and never expected to be anything. But when the chance of a lifetime happens and he and his friends hit it big, he grabs it with both hands. But in doing so, he lost the woman he loved. Piper thought Landon was the one for her. But then he was gone and never really knew why. Now they are back in each other’s lives. Is this a second chance or is it already too late for them?

Landon is your typical rocker. Since hitting it big, he is the bad-boy player with no regrets. But deep in his heart he has one regret. Something that has been missing. Piper was not going to give Landon another chance to break her heart. She was left heartbroken and devastated. But can they truly deny what has always been between them?

Rock Legend by Tara Leigh is an emotional second chance romance, but it one that will keep you turning the pages, even as you want to throw your Kindle. This was a slow burn romance with angst and heartbreak, but the journey is so worthwhile! Though you can technically read Rock Legend as a standalone, it would be a much better experience to read Rock King first. You will not regret it, as it is a great read as well.

Happy reading!
