Nothing But Trouble is such a great name for this band, and drummer Landon Cox is the poster child for being nothing but trouble! It seems each of the band members has a past they would rather forget in some ways, but those events have shaped them into the men they are today. Now it's Landon's turn in the spotlight.

Landon has been living the dream with money, fame and more ready-and-willing women than he could ever handle in a lifetime. But lately the same old routine has been feeling more and more tedious and lonely no matter what he does or how much he drinks. As a child of addicts who ended up in the foster care system, he knows the dangers but can't seem to help himself. The guys in the band are the only family he has and he doesn't want to let them down so he keeps pushing forward without having any real direction- until he is confronted with a blast from his past.

Piper and Landon met while she was in college and he and Nothing But Trouble were just getting started. They spent several months together and were virtually inseparable, but when Landon chose his career over her and disappeared without even a goodbye, he did lasting damage to her heart. Piper grew up as the product of a loveless marriage and she will not allow any man to walk all over her, but she seems to be a magnet for real prizes in the man department. Although Piper has worked for NBT's manager for years, she has managed to avoid coming face to face with Landon until now. Despite her best intentions, she still feels his pull just as strongly as the day he walked away and it is going to be a battle to keep that wall around her heart if he turns his full attention to winning her back.

Piper and Landon's story is one serious roller coaster of ups and downs with some emotional whiplash as they revel in reconnecting, discover all the secrets they have each been hiding for years, and weather misunderstandings and the potential pitfalls of temptation especially after a poor choice by Landon leaves him terrified that he will no longer be able to be a part of the band. Through it all there is no doubt that they love each other, but sometimes love isn't enough if you don't love yourself enough to make the difficult choices.

Rock Legend is another great story from Tara Leigh, and the tantalizing little glimpse of Dax's story has me eagerly anticipating Rock Rebel!

Landon is a drummer is the hottest band around. They have won Grammys, broken concert records, and are diehard rock stars. Of course, he is the typical drummer drinks too much, is a playboy and never lets his guard down. Piper is also in the music business she works for his agent which he doesn't know. She is the girl he left behind and thinks of her every day. She believes she wasn't good enough for him. Still, there are times when she stands off stage and watches him play so mesmerized she forgets to breathe. The few times she is forced to be near him she hides in the background unseen. At a party thrown by his agent her boss, they meet up again. He acts drunk so she is told to get him home safe. Now comes the hard part. Neither one has really moved on. They're still in love with each other. The sexual tension could be cut with a knife. From here they are forced to not only look at the mistakes they made with each other. But also the mistakes they both have made in their own lives. While going back and forth of being together and breaking up they discover maybe they are better off apart. This really is a good book about what we do to ourselves and those we love. It shows what some people think having it all really means. Because money notoriety and being born with a gift doesn't mean an easy road ahead. Or guarantee happiness. They both have to grow up and face their past. Before they can ever have a chance at a future. I enjoyed this book and will look for more from, Tara Leigh in the future.

This was such a well written love story that at times was heartbreaking with Landon Cox who's parents were drug addicts and had such a complex and disturbing childhood, until he was taken in by Sarah and Mike who loved and cared for him until one fateful day when everything around him come crushing down. Piper Hastings was born an only child in a house which on the outside seemed perfect on the inside she felt unworthy and unloved or wanted by her father. They meet in college and fell in love until Landon went out to meet his band manager and never returned until 6 years later leaving Piper feeling unworthy of love and unwanted yet again. This a wonderfully written second chance romance with such a heartbreaking storyline that has your head unsure which way is up. The heartache of discovery that everyone has a story and deserves to feel love and wanted.

“Want to know the difference between a legend and a fairy tale? Only on of them ends happily ever after.”

This book was AMAZING! I honestly cannot put into words how wonderful it was. It definitely deserves more than 5 stars.

Piper is an employee for Nothing But Trouble’s manager. Her only job with the band so far has been taking care of Delaney, Shane’s girlfriend, and that is just how Piper likes it! She definitely doesn’t want to attend their concerts or come in contact with the sexy drummer. Been there, done that!

Landon is the drummer for Nothing But Trouble. He walked away from everybody in his life 6 years ago to fulfill his dream and that included Piper.

Will Piper give Landon a second chance, or will she keep things strictly professional?

Piper was a perfectionist. She follows the rules, plays it safe, and does everything asked of her. She is trying to prove her worth to everyone and the task can be very daunting.

Landon is a troubled man who is punishing himself for his past. He is unwilling to let himself be happy because he doesn’t believe he deserves it.

This story brought out the emotions in a beautiful tale about love and healing. Landon and Piper’s love for each other was apparent from the first page, and they both proved to be unselfish in their love for one another. They would do anything as long as the other person was happy. I also love the friendships in this series. This group of friends have overcome so much and their support never falters.

I cannot wait to see what Tara has in store for Dax’s story.

Rock Legend is a second chance, rockstar romance. I have to admit I didn't though I would find a perfect series after Kylie Scott's but here it come!I devoured Rock Legend and I love this series!

Piper and Landon met 6 years earlier when she was a college freshman and Landon wasn’t yet famous. Suddenly, he leaves without a word, but neither one of them got over each other. Even though she has worked for his band’s manager for 3 years, she managed to go undetected by him until the moment everything will change for both of them! The chemistry is stronger than ever and the passion!Piper and Landon take us on an emotional journey!

Seeing Piper again after all this time was all it took to strip away the elaborate pretense I fooled myself into believing- that I was doing fine without her.
I wasn’t.

Overall it was a great story, I'm looking forward for the next book!

BIANCA
Eeep! I'm the biggest rockstar romance fan ever!

And this was another very adorable and sexy and heartbreaking one!

A possible second chance at love and a happily ever after for our darling drummer Landon.

He's a bit of a manwhore. Just a lil' bit ;)

But Piper is the one that he let get away six years ago. And he regretted it ever since. Even though he knows that she's better off without him. Poor guy.

He has a lot of stuff to work through until he can ride off into his happy end sunset with Piper!

Piper has a lot to work and think through too.

And we adore (almost) every moment of that journey! ☺

A tiny little thing I didn't love-love? The book was basically done a little after the 50% mark. We could've stopped with a happy end. But then more things happen. They should've / could've happened a bit sooner, that way it wouldn't have divided the book into two halves. Now it's basically a 2-part book. Which was totally ok - I still loved the whole story and all the people in it! But it could've been done/written a tiny little bit differently.

But the book was a really great second-chance rock star romance with some very sad and moving and some sexy and adorable moments!!

And now I can't wait to see what Dax & Verity will have to tell us in their book!

JANEANE
Tara Leigh, you had me at rock star!

I am as big rock star book groupie, and couldn't get enough of Rock King, so diving in to Rock Legend was not rocket science.

In fact, I think I liked Rock Legend more than Rock King.

Landon and Piper's story is full of their history, their heartache, their regrets. All whilst trying to maybe/maybe not get back together.

Ugh, Landon is such a manwhorish douche at times, but you can feel his love for Piper fall off the page. I still wanted to slap him with my Kindle a lot of the time, however I couldn't help but adore him and all his issues.

Piper - girl, you rocked this thing. Don't you let him right back in there. Make him fight for you!

This book had two of my favourite things - rock stars and a second chance romance. Once I picked it up I couldn't stop reading it. I adored seeing more of Shane and Delaney and where they are at now.

Now I am impatiently waiting to see which Nothing But Trouble guy gets their story next.

Wow!! I started reading this book with absolutely no expectations. I read the blurb, it sounded good so I dug in. I was blown away with how much I loved this incredible story. The characters are flawed, troubled, lovable, and completely intriguing. Piper and Landon have a history and it isn't something Piper wants to repeat. He shredded her heart once and she isn't about to give him a chance to do it again. Her job may have her dealing with him but that's as far as she's willing to let it go. Landon has other ideas. He knew walking away from her was a mistake and now he wants a second chance. What will it take for Piper to trust him again and is he really up for it?

I absolutely loved this book. Although it's the second in the series I read it with no problem not having read the prior book. I highly recommend this to everyone.

Love Rock Star Romances! This is the first story that I have read by Tara Leigh and it definitely will not be the last. Well written with great character development.
This is a second chance romance, and I loved learning about their past history and what happened between them. These two clash and it’s ridiculously fantastic! I enjoyed the animosity, their bickering and their chemistry immensely. But their is also a lot for them to work through, to heal their hearts. Is Love in the cards? You will have to read to find out.
Get ready for an emotional roller coaster, but also be ready for a whole lot of sweetness, and off the charts sexy in this Rock Star Romance.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thought and opinions are my own.

If you read Rock King, then you knew you were in for a really good book with Rock Legend. But I didn’t expect that Tara writing would bring tears to my eyes. Landon and Piper were together only for a couple of month’s six years ago before Landon just disappeared on Piper. Piper has spent the last few years trying to avoid Landon as much as possible. The hard part of that is she works for Nothing but Trouble manager and Landon is the drummer for Nothing but Trouble. So what will happen when Piper is told to babysit Landon?

Rock Legend is the perfect example of why I love second chance romances, the angst, the amazing sexy moments and all the emotions. This book will break your heart; glue it back together and just when you think it is together - BOOM! - It’s broken again in the most painful way. At this point, you throw the book at the wall because you think there is no way an HEA is coming. But don’t worried there is an HEA just might be a bump along the way.

Tara, you made me fall in love with Rock King, broke my heart with Rock Legend. I am afraid to see what you do to me with Rock Rebel.

I’m giving this book 5-stars. Let me tell you why.

I read Rock King and the author introduced me to Piper Hastings. She also gave me a brief glance at Landon Cox. Nothing but Trouble’s drummer with a reputation that was more infamous than the man. Rock Legend is Piper and Landon’s story.

Piper and Landon have a history that didn’t work out. She knew him before he became a rock star. She knew the real Landon Cox.

Both characters have baggage they hide from each other. But as always, the truth usually comes out at the worst time.

The sparks are still there between them. The author knows how to write some very sexy angst.

Good and bad things happen to both characters. One thing I want to point out is that Landon has some very bad habits. I don’t want to spoil it for you, so I’m leaving it at that.

There were many surprises that I didn’t see coming as I read the book. There were also a few times I wanted to throw my Kindle but didn’t. I continued reading, hoping that Piper and Landon would eventually get their HEA. But did they?

Overall, the book had an amazing storyline. I felt for each of the characters as I found out why they are the way they are today. Piper and Landon are good people who were dealt several bad hands in their lives.

If you love to read rock star romances with lots of angst and very hot sex, then I highly recommend you read Rock Legend. It was well-written with lots of heart.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy from Forever Yours for my unbiased opinion of the book. This is a story about Landon Cox, a bad boy turned drummer. Who six years ago had the best two months of his life with Piper Hastings when he was a nobody and fell off the face of the earth. Only to reemerge to become one of the greatest drummers of all time! It took Piper a long time to get over the breakup now works for the PR agency that the band and Landon are associated with. When Piper falls asleep unbeknownst to her, Landon's backstage dressing room after escorting her best friend and fellow bandmate girlfriend to tonight's concert. When Landon sees her sleeping all bets are off and realized that all the women he is been with since her pale in comparison. Will his past come back to haunt him, and will Piper be able to accept her past so that she can move forward and have a future? You will not be able to put this one down!!! I cannot wait to read the first one in the series. This is a stand-alone book. You do not want to miss this!!!!

Unresolved issues from the past, secrets, explosive chemistry and, of course, true love, combine for a great story that kept me hooked.

Landon, the hero, starts off as a stereotypical, rockstar manho of epic proportions, who is in a downhill mental spiral. “Poor me” is the tune he is singing, despite his musical fame and fortune. Upfront and center is his regret in losing Piper, the heroine, who he walked away from six years earlier. Waking up after an all too frequent, routine threesome wasn’t an opening act I wanted to witness, folks. You see, I’m just not a big fan of a man who impulsively indulges his every whim with random other women while supposedly pining for someone who he claims to love but dumped without saying goodbye.

Finding out Piper has secretly and silently had a front row seat to his bad boy party lifestyle was rough on my avid romantic heart. Him thinking he somehow deserved a ONS with her to get her out of his system once and for all, well, not cool, folks. His excuse for leaving her in the first place didn’t justify no contact or explanation whatsoever when he first left. He had a long time to try and make things right with her.

But, hey, it is what it is. I still couldn’t help but wish these two knuckleheads would get their second chance. But things continued to turn into one hot, complicated mess after another. The author definitely threw in some obstacles I didn’t see coming.

If you are into rock band romances and can overlook not that long ago manho behavior, you might want to consider this one. The writing did flow. Dax, the more of a loner/less of a womanizing manho, will get his HEA in the next book.

Title: Rock Legend, Series: Nothing But Trouble (Book 2), Author: Tara Leigh, Pages: 368, stand-alone but part of a series, second chance romance, huge former manho, not celibate during long previous separation, knucklehead decisions, very steamy, OM drama, no cheating, no love triangle, claims he has always missed her.

Book 1 - Rock King
Book 2 - Rock Legend
Book 3 - Rock Rebel

Rock Legend is a sexy and emotional second-chance romance with a compelling, troubled famous rock star, who realizes he made a monumental mistake when he broke his girlfriend’s heart in order to pursue his music career. Landon and Piper haven’t seen each other in six years when he suddenly broke up with her without any explanation, and both have their worlds rocked when they are thrust together again. His life is spiraling out of control, and she’s been assigned to handle him and remove him from the spotlight. The attraction between them is just as fiery as it was before and the pull is just as powerful, but Piper is afraid to trust him with her heart again. Her life also takes an unexpected turn, causing her to be further conflicted by Landon’s presence. Their journey is an intense roller coaster of bittersweet moments, steamy interludes, surprising revelations, profound realizations and heartwarming redemption, and you will feel everything along the way and will not want to stop reading for even a minute. Tara Leigh delivers a gripping rock star romance that hits all the right notes and is sure to steal your heart.

WOW!! I loved, loved, loved Rock Legend by Tara Leigh, book two in her Nothing But Trouble series. Ms. Leigh created a wonderful and emotional story between two people growing up with troubled pasts, one in foster care until adopted and the other feeling she needed to be perfect to be loved.

After a six year separation, Landon and Piper were given a second chance to repair what went wrong with their prior relationship. Landon needed to get his act together and control the sex, drugs and alcohol he used to disguise his loneliness and desire for Piper, before and after their run in at a Nothing But Trouble concert. He really needed to curb his self-destructive behavior and stop running away when things go wrong. Piper suffered from the perception that she had to be perfect to be worthy of love. What she learns is that no one is perfect and it’s okay to make mistakes and still be loved. Landon and Piper are truly a match made in heaven and hell as they lead one another on a roller coaster journey before being able to accept and give love.

Ms. Leigh wrote a wonderful and emotional story that drew me into her book and the lives of her characters, making me forget the world around me. I had trouble putting this book down, turning page after page, not letting go until I turned the last page, still wanting more and really looking forward to the next book in this series. I highly recommend this book to other readers.

***4.5 Stars***

Rock Legend is the second book in the Nothing But Trouble series and can be read as a standalone. After reading the first book in the series I was a little hesitant to request an arc of Rock Legend. Don't ask my why because honestly I haven't the slightest clue. I'm happy to have had the chance to read Rock Legend by Tara Leigh, Landon is by far my favorite character in the rock band Nothing But Trouble!

About Rock Legend:

This novel deals with some tough subjects. Landon was born into an abusive household. He was neglected and physically abused nearly his whole childhood. That is why the man has such a negative opinion of himself and his self worth. Landon is the drummer for Nothing But Trouble.

Piper's always tried to reach a level of perfection that would prove to her father that she is worthy of his love. She's always went out of her way to be better than all and succeed just to get a glimpse of notice from him. But he never acknowledged her. Now Piper has a misguided notion of what parenting and love is all about causing her to see the world in a negative light. But all the work through the years didn't go unnoticed, now Piper is at the top of her field working with the hottest rock bands on the planet. When a blast from the past in the form of Rock Legend Landon Cox comes back into her life, she has to decide if she's willing to give him another chance after he abruptly disappeared years ago without a word.

My thoughts:

First off let me start by saying, Tara Leigh completely blew me away with Rock Legend. I went into this novel expecting to like it, but damn, I didn't think I'd get so swept away in this story line. I freaking loved it. One thing I loved about this novel was the instant chemistry between Landon and Piper. I'm a sucker for second chance romances, if done right. Let me be the first to say, I was rooting for these two from the very beginning.

Landon is the typically egotistical rock star who thinks he's god's gift to women. To put it plain and simple, he's a manwhore. As I dove deeper into this novel and caught glimpses of the man Landon truly is, I realized his manwhore vibe is a shield protecting the boy from his childhood. I felt complete devastation for Landon. One thing I love about romance novels such as Rock Legend is being able to uncover the bad boy and seeing the true man that lies beneath the shield and Landon's truth is something that shouldn't be missed.

Piper is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to Landon. She's someone who isn't typical to Landon, he's used to woman falling in his bed and not having to work for it. Not with Piper, Piper was burned by Landon once and she's not about to let that happen again. I loved Piper and the way she didn't put up with Landon's shit. She is the perfect antidote to his womanizing ways.

Overall, Rock Legend was loads of fun! I'm so happy I took a chance on this novel and this series! I cannot wait for Dax's story! I need more Nothing But Trouble!

I enjoyed the first book in the Nothing But Trouble series, so I was looking forward to reading this one, especially since I love second-chance romances. Unfortunately, it just didn’t work as well for me.

“Until the day I had to make a choice.
My girl or my career.
I chose music. Fame and fortune. Hollywood Hills and chemically induced thrills.
Of course, I’d spent every day since then trying to convince myself I didn’t regret it.
Want to know the difference between a legend and a fairy tale?
Only one of them ends happily ever after.”

Landon had a troubled childhood, and his main coping skills as an adult, and the drummer of the famous band Nothing But Trouble, are drinking and drugs. Piper, who he dated for two months before the bad got big, was the one shining light in his life, but when made to choose between the band and her, he chose the band. There were extenuating circumstances, yes, and it takes a good portion of the book before he finally tells her, but the end result of him leaving without so much as a good-bye is that Piper thinks she wasn’t “enough” for him, and that’s affected all her relationships every since. Piper’s got her own childhood demons, and she’s driven to perfection and organization. Though she’s been working with the band’s agent for years, she’s so far managed to avoid Landon, but when they finally meet, both realize that six years apart hasn’t changed the chemistry between them. Forced together by another one of Landon’s screw-ups, Piper eventually decides there’s no harm in having a fling with Landon, but as Landon’s past catches up with him, things get more emotional than she bargained for. Do people only get second chances in fairytales, or can Piper and Landon write their own ending?

I had a lot of trouble drumming up sympathy for Landon, and honestly, for most of the book, I just wanted Piper to wash her hands of him. I had a hard time believing that two months of a college relationship over six years ago was enough to keep her coming back, even if the sex was hot. The same pattern repeats throughout the book – Piper decides to give Landon a second chance, Landon messes it up. Landon decides to apologize, then Piper messes it up. Landon blames himself for a lot of things – weirdly enough, things that were out of his control – but he blames Piper for his need to numb himself with drinking and drugs. Additionally, without going into spoilers, from the first chapter, the book was practically banging me over the head that one of my least-favorite tropes was going to make an appearance, so I spent the entire first half of the book dreading it. I have read and very much enjoyed books that subvert that trope, but unfortunately, this was not one of those cases, and it was very predictable. One of the things I love about angsty romance novels is that – even though I know it’s going to end in an HEA – in the midst of it, I like to worry about how the couple is going to reach their HEA, and a predicable plot line takes a lot of the fun out of that.

“Some of us have work to do,” she said, not falling for my ploy.
I couldn’t help reaching out to pull at a lock of her blonde hair, wrapping it around my finger and closing the distance between us. “There was a time that wouldn’t have stopped you.”
For a second, Piper’s eyelids blinked closed, those bright blue beams shuttered. But they opened again quickly, blazing with anger. “There was a time you would have been worth it.”

Some of the turns of phrase and plot devices left a bad taste in my mouth. She calls off the engagement with her fiance when she walks in on him in bed with another man. At one point, when making out with Piper, Landon is described as “a fat kid in a candy shop.” My least favorite was the handling of the pregnancy. Even though she’s been intimate with two men, she assumes it’s the one man’s baby, going so far as to pick out freaking crib mobiles with him and his new partner. It’s by chance that she realizes that she used a condom incorrectly and that Landon could be the father. Does she tell the other guy her suspicions right away? No, instead, they both find out in a ridiculous scene out of Jerry Springer with them all getting the results at the same time. And after that? The book’s only concerned with her and Landon repairing their relationship, and the poor guy and his partner show up at the baby shower at the end, supposedly forgiving all. The writing style was a bit over-the-top for me, too. At one point Landon refers to her clitoris as the “plump berry in the orchard that was Piper Hastings” and I nearly DNF’d the book from that alone.

Overall, this book just didn’t work for me for a variety of reasons. If you’re a big fan of rock stars and second chance romances, you may have better luck, but I doubt I’ll pick up the rest of this series.

I received this book for free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

“Nothing worth having comes easy.”

This book had so much potential. The story line was so good, the characters were likable but I couldn't get past all the repetitiveness.

In one chapter the same words were two pages over. It was crazy. I skimmed a lot of the book because of this. Still understood the story.

Both of the characters have some secrets they weren't ready to share. Falling in love isn't easy but with these two the timing was never right.

It was fun seeing them try to reconnect and find out if it was meant to be with Piper and Landon.

Also, it's true what they say. You learn something new everyday. (I can't spoil it but you'll know what I'm talking about when you read it)
