This is a shifter book with a difference .........one where voodoo magic and dimensional beings co-exist .

Katie , a dragon shifter , followed her boyfriend to Savannah , when he left she stayed - opening her dream Tattoo parlour .
Having had weird dreams for the last two weeks about a tattoo - she is not entirely surprised when a man
walks in asking for that same tattoo . What she did not realise was that the man was possessed by an evil spirit and the tattoo would enable him to exist on this plane and open the 'Crossroads' to the Underworld . She is soon brought to the attention of the local elite , the Crossroads Society' , who want to use her to get the spirit back into the 'Grimoire' that he had escaped from .
Just when she thinks that things cannot get anymore complicated. Jackson Hunter roars into town on his Harley ….... the attraction is immediate …….what is he ? who is he ?
It will take all Katie's powers , along with her friends to defeat the Spirit and send him back to where he belongs

This was an entertaining read which left a few questions unanswered leaving me to hope that a second book is in the future .

I was given an arc of this book in exchange for my honest review

I have to comment on Bennett's writing style. It was so different and I thoroughly enjoyed it. She didn't go for a lot of flowery, long descriptions, which I appreciate. I'm having a hard time describing it, she was kind of like Ikea...form and function versus over-designed and superfluous. Can you tell her style really resonated with me?

The story flowed and moved at a good clip. The characters were engaging and I would really like to know more about all of them. The world created was fascinating.

I see that the second book in this series is out and I can't wait to sit down and read it once I get some other netgalleys read.

I had never heard of Luanne Bennett, but you can bet this won't be the last I read by her!
The main character, Katie, is a dragon shifter, which is not a new premise in urban fantasy, but the author somehow brings something fresh to it. It's a quick read with characters of dimension and complexity. She gives you enough of their history to peak your curiosity. She sets the world in Savannah, rich with characters of all manner of talents and abilities. The book ends with a big reveal and a bit of a cliffhanger to draw you into the second book. Can't wait to read it!
Disclosure: There is some violence and instances of non-consent that may not sit well with some.
