Where I found it: This is another one from the archives (i.e. NetGalley many years ago)Why I picked it up: It is a book all about WAFFLES, with a picture of a s'more waffle on the cover!
What’s It All About? [points to cover] Waffles.
My thoughts: I love this little book, and I am excited to purchase my own to add to my small cookbook collection. I love just about everything in this book. For starters, all of the base recipes are in the back of the book in one place, making it an easy reference to keep on hand (standard, Belgium, cornmeal, sourdough, etc). The waffle recipes (add-ins and toppings) are separated into three categories: Breakfast/Brunch, Lunch/Dinner, and Dessert. With recipes from a James Beard Award winning cookbook author, there is definitely something in here to please even the pickiest of palates. The book starts out with tools/tips/tricks to get you started making waffles from scratch. There is even a fun page of waffle trivia before the recipes start.
My favorite recipes in each category are as follows:
Breakfast/Bruch - Lemon-Ricotta Waffles with Blueberry-Citrus Syrup
Lunch/Dinner - Potato Waffles with Applesauce
Dessert - Double Chocolate Waffles with Strawberry Sauce
Genre: Cookbook
Themes: Recipes, Waffles
Recommended For: Anyone who enjoys cooking from scratch and enjoys waffles. Would be the perfect gift to go with a waffle maker!
