4 Hard Deal Yum Stars
* * * * Spoiler Free
This DARE part of the book world rocks. Here we have a couple who are set up to be opposite attracting and then the forbidden boss and employee. Each brings the push pull to the relationship and through their exchanges, the both of them begin to reveal their true selves.
It worked well and gave a reader full ride.

OK, now this was a fun read for me! Sexy story of Imogen and Caleb, the assistant and the boss' black sheep son. I loved their interactions and banter. There was a lot more to each of these characters than what they let others see, and it was a great time digging beneath the surface. Are there going to be more of these? Because I'm all in...
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is a spectacular book about taking chances. Imogene and Caleb appear to be as opposite as night and day yet, as the story unfolds, both of the true natures come to the forefront. It is so much more than another romance because the author slowly knits two hearts together. I read this book in one setting! I was thoroughly enthralled right from the start.

In an attempt to save her sister from a heartache she knows all too well, Imogen is out to catch her future brother-in-law with another woman. When she recruits Caleb, her boss' son, to assist in her sleuthing, things heat up. There's a lot more to Caleb then he lets on and what he wants with Imogen means he'll have to do things differently. The chemistry between Imogen and Caleb is definitely there, but they have to overcome their tendencies to hide their true selves to make it last.

Hard Deal is a fast and pleasant read. The characters and plot were entertaining. My only critique is that it left me wanting more. The ending felt a little rushed and the reader doesn't get to spend a lot of time seeing the characters develop.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

I'll just be over hear, melting from all the steamy scenes in Hard Deal. Imogen and Caleb had a ton of chemistry. They were perfectly matched, even though Imogen was definitely fighting it. Imogen struggles with relationships due to her ex, which was 100% believable. Caleb had his own issues stemming from his family. I had a difficult time with Caleb issues, while on one hand I got it, on the other he acted like a child about things until the very end of the book. I do appreciate that he finally manned up and took care of business on that front.

Stefanie London came to my attention when Bad Bachelor released. I loved that book, so I vowed to read anything else that she writes. Hard Deal was a fun read for me, with likable characters and a sweet romance, but going in, I was expecting much much more smut given that the book is published under Harlequin Dare. If you weren't aware of it, Harlequin Dare is a new sexy line that focuses a lot on the sexy times. As always, I thought the writing in Hard Deal was really addicting. London definitely has got the talent! I honestly couldn't stop reading the book. Caleb and Imogen might have had a little bit of animosity between them (more on Imogen's side than Caleb's), but it was obvious that these two had smoldering chemistry. I enjoyed the banter between them and the romantic scenes were really sweet. The few sexy scenes that were in the book were steamy as hell, but like I said, I expected more smut! Overall, I think Stefanie London is going to be on my auto-read list. Her books are just so much fun!

While the sex is hot between Imogen and Caleb, something about these two and this story made me uncomfortable. They never really got to know each other on a personal level, which I know is not a big theme in these kind of books, but something was off-putting in this one, and I'm trying to put my finger on it. Caleb was also really aggressive, which in the right situation can be hot, but he never turned it off. And Imogen started out as this independent woman who, sure, was hurt, but knew her own mind, and yet succumbed to Caleb pretty quickly. All in all, I felt kind of meh about this one.

I’m really liking this Harlequin Dare series and this one was delightful. The angst is just the right amount and I loved how everything unfolded. I could read a lot more of Caleb and Imogen.

Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin for the ARC!

Imogen and Caleb work together. She is his dad and bosses assistant and he works for the company as well. They both lust for the other but hide it because his dad would not want them together. Meanwhile Caleb is not the chosen son. His dad treats him pretty badly and treats his brother Jason wonderfully.

The story gets going as Imogen finds out that Caleb and Jason know her sisters fiancee who she thinks is cheating. She asks Caleb to buddy up to him and find out the truth and that starts them on a friendship relationship.

This was a very well written and enjoyable story and I really enjoyed it. It is a work romance but with the black sheep son. I really loved all the characters and really enjoyed reading the story. I loved how Caleb dealt with his daddy issues.

Determined to save her sister from heartache, Imogen Hargrove agrees to date infamous but irresistable playboy Caleb Allbrook if he’ll help dig up dirt on the cheating fiancé. Great chemistry between the characters and just the right amount of angst and loads of steamy romance.
