This romance that is a fascinating and gripping addition to the Beautiful Creatures world as the door to Daemonia is opened and hordes of monsters stream into the mortal realm. Savin and Jett are strong, attention-grabbing characters that easily pull readers in and refuse to let go as they struggle to survive and carve out hope for their happily ever after. The romance is on the sweet side and full of hot and steamy passion and sizzling chemistry but the relationship is full of emotional turmoil that comes from dealing with the past and what it means for them and it also has a major obstacle that must be overcome – one that just might be their undoing.

The excitement and thrills keeps readers glued to the pages of this steady to fast paced plot as Savin discovers that the childhood friend he thought he’d lost forever has escaped after years of captivity. The intriguing Jett must overcome her tragic past, survive in this modern world and convince Savin that she can defeat the darkness inside. But with a few surprising twists this Savin and Jett’s world become more complicated and danger closes in. The story and characters are well developed and brought to vivid life with well written words that capture the imagination and make it easy for the readers to picture each and every scenes as it happens. The story also has a brilliantly suspenseful conclusion to the conflict involving the Queen of Demonia that had me biting my nails in expectation.

Took me a while to get into this - but that was not the book's fault, more along the lines of I had too many other things happening to allow myself to sit and read for a while.

When I did finally have some time to read this, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Michele Hauf's paranormal romances are my go-to escape when I cannot deal with the rest of the world. She creates the most beautiful stories, full of interesting characters dealing with life and love, and the complications caused by the magic they harbor inside.

In this particular story, Savin runs into a friend he believed he'd lost twenty years earlier. As children they fell into Daemonia - a world inhabited by demons. Savin managed to escape, but believed Jett had died there. He returned with a demon trapped inside of him, and now spends his days working with others who have magical abilities to send trouble causing demons back to Daemonia.

He's overjoyed when he sees Jett again, but something has changed inside of her. As much as she wants to return to the human world, she and Savin both have to accept that she's no longer completely human.

This is a story about battling demons - both real and mental. The characters have to face their guilt and the truth about who they are and what happened to them in order to truly find their way back to each other. To make matters more difficult, since Jett's return, Paris has been suffering from an influx of demons. Much to Savin's dismay, he discovers the only way to protect the city may involve a horrible sacrifice.

As always from this author, a very sexy, very fast paced, engrossing story set in the beautifully described city of Paris.

Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys sexy, paranormal romances full of magic.

This was my first read of Michele's and I have to say that the whole premise of the book intrigued me instantly. I love a good paranormal and this book really did it for me. I was hooked from the start and I was left on the edge of my seat through most of it.

Savin and Jett were friends as children but a traumatic experience has left them worlds apart and with baggage that may seem to great for a lesser person. Savin is now a reckoner of demons in the mortal realm. He sends demons who have no reason to be on earth back to where they came from. Jett was left in a world she knew nothing about and had to learn how to survive all on her own. She's done things to survive that she's not proud of, but she is who she is now and she's accepted that. The only question is...will Savin accept her now for the thing she has become or does he still want her as the sweet, innocent child she once was. I loved both characters. Jett was strong and knew exactly what she wanted; Savin was this burly man who had a sweet side when it came to Jett.

The plot itself was creative and kept me entertained. About half way in I realized how things would play out, but I still enjoyed the book. It was a well-thought out plot with engaging characters that you want to know more of. Overall, I enjoyed this book and can't wait to dive into more of Hauf's novels.

This was a very interesting read, I enjoyed how the storyline was mysterious and action packed throughout yet it had a nice amount of romance and hot moments. Savin and Jett were best friends growing up and one day when they were out playing they got sucked into this dark world full of demons and horrible things. They survived because they had each other until one day Jett was falling down this lava type waterfall and Savin assumed she was dead so he found a way out by what he thought was chance. One night Jett comes back after 20 years of being gone and Savin finds her and helps her. The story like I said keeps you intrigued throughout and I enjoyed it. I do think if I had read the previous books I would have understood more of the background to the story like the side characters but I never got completely lost because the author explains things very well.

Jett and Savin were best friends 20 years ago... before they were sucked into the demon realm and Savin got out with the help of a new 'friend' and Jett was left there... Savin thinks she died but turns out she found a way to live there, doing whatever she had to do to survive. When he finds her one night, he can't seem to grasp what happened but they slowly grow together but whenever they get close, the demon inside him gets rather angry. Will they ever be together? Can Jett tell him the truth about how she survived?

A quick run and hot read. I will say that everything was so obvious before it ever happened but that didn't lessen my enjoyment. It was cute watching these two best friends come back together after 20 years. Sometimes when it's meant to be, nothing can stop it. I really liked Savin but sometimes felt that Jett was rather a wishy washy character. One moment she hates her demon side and then the next she's at a club just giving into her darker side. She does get better as the book goes along which really redeemed her in my eyes. I loved the romance between the couple and the plot was interesting, I found myself sitting there wondering when the other characters would figure out the answer I knew early on.

Overall, a quick and fun read.
