What a fascinating book. I was impressed by the storyline and the characters were all well written and complex. Where there are complex storylines combined with intriguing characters the reader experience is magnified tremendously. To have a book that is well written as well as entertaining is a delight. Reading is about escaping your world and entering another one. The word building was phenomenal in this book. Here I forgot about my own life and was immersed in the world created by the author. I would recommend this book.

Unsweetened by Lois Greiman is book 10 in the Chrissy McMullen series. I was really excited to pick up this book, but I found this book lacking in a lot of ways. It sounds like it was previously a fun series and I’d like to read the earlier books. This was probably not the best one to read first. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.

It's hard to like a story when you don't like the heroine.

I really disliked Chrissy. She's not a totally bad person but she certainly isn't a good one. I don't know how she can be a therapist when she isn't even sane in her personal life. It's no wonder why she's had multiple other threats on her life (in previous books).

I really couldn't get into the story. The writing was too wordy and overflowing with long metaphors. It might impress a creative writing teacher but they became annoying speed bumps. I skimmed over long sections that I could feel were just fluff.
It took forever to get to any kind of a storyline. Anything relevant to the overall story isn't until about chapter 10 & any 'mystery' started at about 70% (roughly chapter 25-ish). It was so convoluted and conveniently coincidental. The whole time I was shaking my head and thinking that we're actually supposed to be buying into this chain of events.
I can't believe there are 9 previous books in this series. I won't be wasting my time on any of those. Sorry.

I have to admit I totally enjoy this series. Unsweetened was a hilarious read. This book follows the same format as the previous books in the series. Christina McMullen (the lead) gets herself into crazy situations and with the help of her entourage is able to get out of them.

Christina and Jack's (the love of her life (if she only knew)) relationship is totally bat-s..t crazy and this book is no different. But there is a slight twist in the evolution of their story in Unsweetened. I love them together, I wish they were together more in the story. Hopefully in the next one........

A fast enjoyable read.

Received as an ARC from Netgalley.

If you love silliness, then Chrissy is your gal. Chrissy has a PHD in Psychology, is a great therapist, and a terrific person, but she just is a mess when it comes to her love life. And this book delves into her love life. Unfortunately, it's not with Jack. Lois Greiman manages again to capture the fun, the ridiculous, and gets Chrissy to step in doo-doo again. Jack to the rescue. I highly recommend this series. It's just fun. And I'd take Jack Rivera in a heartbeat!

I enjoyed this book but would like to see Chrissy and Jack continue on in their relationship, instead of always backtracking. It is frustrating, especially since the ending of each book promises a continuation.

I enjoy Chrissy's antics - looking forward to more books
