4.25 stars--LEOPARD’S RUN is the eleventh instalment in Christine Feehan’s contemporary, adult LEOPARD PEOPLE erotic, paranormal, romance series focusing on the supernatural world of the leopard shifter. This is leopard enforcer Timur Amurov, and barista Ashe Bronte Mostafa’s story line. LEOPARD’S RUN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary although Leopard’s Run continues to follow the author’s latest series arc focusing on the Russian Mob.

NOTE: LEOPARD’S RUN contains scenes of graphic violence and implied abuse, that may not be suitable for all readers.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Timur and Ashe) LEOPARD’S RUN follows the building relationship between leopard enforcer Timur Amurov, and barista Ashe Bronte Mostafa. Timur was not impressed that his brother Fyodor’s mate and wife Evangeline hired an unknown female leopard to help out in her bakery and café. Not one to believe in coincidences Timur attempts to ferret out the stranger’s secrets only to discover the stranger is the other half of his leopard’s soul. Enter Ashe Bronte Mostafa, and the woman with whom Timur will fall in love. What ensues is the building relationship between Timur and Ashe, and the potential fall-out as Ashe and the Amurov family are targeted in a takeover attempt of power and control.

Ashe Bronte is about to enter the Han Vol Dan-the leopard female equivalent of going into heat-but her pheromones attract all kinds of trouble including the unwanted attention of every shifter male. Already the target of a vengeful man Ashe needs the help of the local Russian mobster but believes her presence is a threat to Evangeline and the Amurov family. Timur knows the pain and suffering of torture and abuse, and in this, he believes he is unworthy of a mate but Ashe’s presence is the only thing that calms his raging beast, a beast that is willing to kill to protect his family and mate.

The relationship between Ashe and Timur is one of immediate attraction but Ashe is on the run, desperate to contact Fyodor, in the hopes of procuring his criminal experience. Timur’s leopard knows that Ashe is their mate but struggles with the knowledge that his abusive past is but a grain of sand in a long line of sins and violence. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Evangeline and Fyodor Amurov (Leopard’s Blood #8), cousins Gorya and Mitya; Jake Bannaconni, Eli Perez, Elijah Lospostos, Jeremiah Wheating, and Drake Donovan. We are introduced to Evangeline’s brothers Christophe and Ambroise Tregre, their father Beau, and Uncle Gilbert. The requisite evil has many faces.

The world building continues to look at the brutal and sexually aggressive world of the leopard shifter. From abusive males to power and control, the leopards are a people who fear their own kind when past experiences have shaped the violent tendencies through cruelty, threats, anger and pain.

LEOPARD’S RUN is a story of family and betrayal; power and control; violence, killing and brutality. Christine Feehan pulls the reader into the volatile and explosive world of the leopard. The premise is raw and gritty; the romance is spirited and provocative; the characters are flawed, colorful and energetic. LEOPARD’S RUN is an intoxicating and imaginative entry into the world of the supernatural genre.

In book #10 of the Leopard People series, Timur Amurov has been his brother, Fyodur’s, enforcer and security man for a long time. After having a horrific upbringing in a Russian leopard lair, Timur believed that was all he would ever be in this life. He is all about protection of his family of leopards who lives in the seamy underworld of high crime trying to do good where they can. His sister-in-law, Evangeline, hires a new barista whose presence calms Timur’s leopard for the first time in his life. He wants her with emotions he has never felt before; but, it is possible she is one of their very deadly enemies.

Ashe Bronte is a leopard on the run after her own tragedy. She seeks sanctuary with her friend who runs a bakery coffee shop. Ashe has a hidden agenda that not only puts her in danger, but Timur’s family as well. Raised by survivalist parents, Ashe has learned to take care of herself so while Timur’s instinct is to protect the woman he knows is his mate, she has some serious skills and is a warrior woman in her own right.

In a very male dominated society such as the ones the leopards come from, it was good to see a strong female character. Timur and Ashe’s story is about redemption and a chance for two people to have love and a life they had never hoped for because of their grim and difficult situations. They have many enemies to overcome, but they have found strength in each other, family, and allies who will help fight for their cause. The setting is in San Antonio though very little about the city or surrounding Hill Country is mentioned. It does not take away from the story, but it seems a little surprising considering the historic city. This book can be read as a standalone; however, much of the background and development of Timur’s character happens in an earlier book in this series, #8 called LEOPARD’S FURY which is Fyodur aka Alonzo and Evangeline’s story.

Leopard's Run is the most latest book in the Leopard's People series by Feehan. This series can be a hit or miss for me at times, but I have really enjoyed the world building and the overall building of the plot of the series. Feehan doesn't surgar coat these books, she really takes the culture of the social aspects of the Leopard's very literally here. It has been so fun to read this series and seen it grown in the ways that it has and seeing some of my favorite characters get their own books. I had been wondering when Timur would get his book and now after reading it, I am so glad that I was able to get a ARC copy of this book because it was pretty wonderful. Not like the earlier books in the series, but a solid romance that kicks some booty.

In Leopard's Run, Timur Armurov is head of his brother's security and will do anything to protect him. They are in grave danger from their family in Russia. They had been hiding under fake names that would have only protected them for a short time, but now Alonzo wants them to go freely and face whatever danger may come to them. To stop hiding and being on the run. And now Timur has a responsibility to protect his brother mate Evangeline and the peaceful life in the bakery she loves. But when she hires new help, he is beyond furious. His job is to protect Alonzo and Evangeline and he can't do that if they tie his hands. The woman that they hire makes his leopard calm in the first time ever. Because of the abuse he suffered when he was a child, his leopard has been hard to control but now he is calm and relaxed around Ashe.

Ashe Bronte is in need of a job and when she finds Evangeline, she is more than eager to help her out considering they have been friends and helped each other when they could. But Ashe is in danger, her parents were murdered and now they are after her as well. And she just wants a safe haven to hide in for a short time while she tries to come up with a plan, but she never imagined that she would find herself fascinated by Timur. Who seems to resent her presence but there is a powerful chemistry between them. But when both of their worlds collide, Timur will have to do everything he can to protect his family and ...his mate.

I really had a fun time with this book, and I found it much more enjoyable than the previous book. I would say that it would be smart to read this following Leopard's Fury since this features two close knit brothers. And the heroines are good friends and I really enjoyed the way this book was written. I was a bit nervous about it to be honest, because some of the more recent additions to this series haven't been my favorite and they tend to have some darker elements at times. However, I am happy to announce that this book kicks booty!! It was simply packed with everything I have come to expect from Feehan and more. Even though Timur is super Alpha like, he is different with Ashe. I liked how considerate he is of Ashe and the relationship that builds between these two is pretty mind blowing. The emotion that is packed in this book will pull you right in. The characters are so easy to love and wow they are really connected when the past of their families merge and mysteries are revealed and the SUSPENSE.

Now to be honest, there is always a level of intensity with a Christine Feehan novel, but I have to say that this was edge of your seat intensity and I had a blast with it. Now at first, you think that the hero here is going to be the one to save the day.....but honestly that is just not the case. We see quite a few surprises from Ashe here that I wasn't expecting. Of course she has a different childhood than most girls do. Her parents were on the run and in secret and her father had to teach her how to survive....even how to fight to defend herself. And boy that training really shows and from beginning to end we see how strong Ashe is, inside and out. Despite what has happened to her parents, she is so genuine and good hearted and has a compassionate heart. She can laugh at herself and embraces her sexuality and the intimacy between her and Timur.

I would like to talk about the romance between Timur and Ashe. Now I was really worried about the sexual aspects of this book, because a couple of the books in this series, I have found have really pushed my boundaries and not in a positive way. So I never know what I will find in a Feehan novel, but this book didn't do that at all. Now I will say the sexual moments between Timur and Ashe are HOT...so keep your partner close. :) But what really drives this story is the emotional intimacy between these two. They end up really being just right for each other in those small unexpected ways. These small moments is what really builds the romance to be such a powerful climax. They work so well together and when they bare themselves to each other, is where the reader begins to feel the depth and heart of this pairing.

Overall I found Leopard's Run is a wild and crazy and laugh your heart out romance that will give you all the feels and keep you on edge with suspense and the true test of love and its endurance!! SATISFYING IN EVERY WAY!

I love this Leopard people series! Everyday people doing everyday things but there are people trying to kill them! When Evangeline gets a new girl at her baker Ashe, Fyodor and Timur are not happy about it as someone is trying to hurt Evangeline. When Timur gets a look at her he can’t believe she may be a spy out to destroy them but when Timur leopard get near her he finally calms for the first time in hundreds of years. When Ashe explains to Timur why she came and that if it would harm Evangeline she would go but neither Timur nor his leopard would have that so they stay and fight together.

I really enjoyed this book by Christine Feehan. The author has done a fabulous job of weaving great story with strong characterization, plenty of fast action and a good dose of passion. Highly recommended!

Excellent addition to this really fun to read series! Timur is a great uber protective character that has a fun balance of scary, over the top protective instinct and super, frustrating male-ness. His introduction in the previous novel was intriguing and now it's fun to see him get a story of his own. The reactions to Evangeline are great and their relationship progressed in a way that was fun and natural.

Evangeline's backstory was unique to this world and her arrival in their lives had a great forward driving plot line. Her reactions to Timur and his personality quirks were a great balance between empowered female and asking for (or getting) help. An easy read, story for a rainy weekend!

This book was amazing !

I really enjoyed this newest Leopard People book. The characters were incredible. Timur and Ashe were a perfect alpha couple. Ashe was tough heroine. She could take care of herself. I LOVED THAT !!! I wasn't super happy with Timur at first because of something that happened in the beginning but he redeemed himself before too long.

I enjoyed the vibrant action, the suspense, and the sizzling chemistry in this story. Christine Feehan did a fantastic job on this book. Can't wait for the next one.

Title: Leopard’s Run
Series: Leopard People Book #11
Stand Alone Title: yes, but recommended in order
Author: Christine Feehan
Genre: Romance
Blurb: He keeps his emotions on a tight leash, but she can see the desire burning in his eyes...

Timur Amurov has one purpose in life: protect his family at all costs. With lethal skills honed from a violent upbringing, Timur is a leopard shifter who sees any newcomers as possible threats--and the petite blond barista who his sister-in-law, Evangeline, has hired to work in her bakery is definitely hiding something. While Timur still needs to determine if Ashe is an enemy, he does know that she is the only woman whose presence has ever truly calmed the beast roaring inside of him.

Ashe Bronte is well aware she has a type: sexy, gorgeous and dangerous as hell. Despite the fact that Timur is all those things and more, Ashe is in San Antonio for reasons that do not involve getting wild with a ruthless leopard--and she cannot afford to make any mistakes. But Timur has ignited something deep within her, and even though she knows she should keep her distance, every move he makes has her craving a taste...
Favorite quote(s): “I want you forever. Not for fifteen minutes. Not for an hour. Not for a day. It has to be forever.”
“I have a woman, stubborn as hell, and I would prefer her to tell me straight up she was staying, but she can’t do that right now. So until she can, I’m going to be a little out of whack.”
“My leopard claimed yours, Ashe. He isn’t going to let her go. We both know that. I don’t want to let you go. Me. Not my leopard. You’re the first thing I’ve ever wanted for myself. You’re the first time I’ve ever thought maybe I could have some kind of life. I don’t want you to go, not for my leopard or yours, but for me.”
Thoughts: “Her name is a joke. Ashe Bronte? That’s ridiculous. No one is named that. Maybe a f@#$%*g porn star.” -Oh, how quickly they fall….LOL Timur wanted nothing to do with Ashe in the beginning, and rather matter-of-factly was ready to get rid of her. Then again, Timur is an interesting character….I honestly didn’t like him very much in the beginning, but I pushed through and – while I’m still a bit conflicted with him – he had just enough sweet words that just got me that kept me from writing him off completely.
The leopard series by Feehan actually was my favorite by the author, however I was never very happy with the whole ‘mafia’ direction turn that this series wound up taking – “They weren’t good men and never had been, yet they refused to give up the women they loved.” While they are ‘bad boys’, they do have a code of honor – which makes it great for romance novel, not so great for mafia connections. I’ve read everything from mafia stories to motorcycle gangs, but the mafia thing just doesn’t mesh in these books in my opinion.
I haven’t really enjoyed the series as much since the mafia angle, but it’s still a good series. The saving grace is usually the female characters, and I really enjoyed Ashe, who was a heroine who kicked butt and took names – and with a creative ingenuity that made me love her even more. – “You’re so lucky, man. She’s a total babe. She’s a mankiller and that’s hot as hell.”
There was a small bit of repetitiveness that started to annoy me – for example, if I read that they mated ‘over, and over, every fifteen minutes or so’ I was going to scream. Yes, I got it the first time….I don’t need to read that every single time they mate in animal form. I usually don’t get irritated with little things like that, but it happened enough that it started aggravating even me!
Nevertheless, if you are a fan of the series, this will be a great one to read. If your new to the series, the earlier books are amazing and I definitely recommend reading them in order.
Rating: B+

I enjoyed this book! This isn't my favourite of her series, I don't really like the whole "they become or are crime bosses to stop the really bad crimes" thing. I also don't like the guys, because they're a little too alpha male bossy for my liking!

I did like this book, but I didn't love it, Timur was just too annoying for my tastes, which is fine, I'm just one person, and other readers and Ashe, will and do like him. I mean, sure, he's the security for his brother, but I think he took it too far. Bah.

I really enjoyed the tension in this book, of their uncles finding them. Those guys were evil, and the good guys knew they were coming, so yeah, there was a lot of emotions running high, which made for a good read!

That ending was pretty intense! I mean, Ashe told us that she had been trained by her parents, but there were a lot of threats, and yeah, watching her face off against them was pretty bad ass! I really enjoyed reading that!

I enjoyed this book, and I can't wait to have more from this series!

Timur is a bossy one, it's his way or the highway, “sleeping with clothes. I want you naked when you’re sleeping with me.” Apparently Timur takes cooking very seriously, “no, this is mine. I looked at your pots and pans, baby, and I can assure you, they’re all ****. Completely. I have liberated them.” I loved this book, I liked that Ashe was fierce and Timur was a bossy man.

I enjoyed Leopard’s Run. It was nice to see a heroine who was a little more kick-ass than most of the heroines in this series. I liked Timur and the chemistry between him and Ashe was off the charts.
I found the plot a little weak. It moves the overarching story towards, but at times felt a little like certain things just happened to move the plot forwards.
Still, another compelling read I read in a day. Solid 3.5
