I had a difficult time getting into this book because the authors spent so much time condemning another program. Specifically they expend a lot of energy downing AA before presenting their plan. I am not an apologist for AA but it does work for some people. So the authors should have started by talking about what worked for them. (I also believe that all truth is God's truth. So we need to keep what is true.)
On a positive note they do remand us that if the church acted like the church was supposed to, as a community of people who loved one another, then addiction recovery would be a big deal in the church.
