The Soul at Rest contains more robust daily entries than your average daily book. I appreciate that careful thought seems to have been put into crafting these entries instead of allowing them to become quick-hit pages that you can read in 2 minutes flat. Rhodes gives the reader context, suggested Bible readings, and things to consider in one's prayer life. I recommend this book for those looking to deepen their prayer practice and those who want a different experience than a devotional.

I loved working through this book. I have always prayed, but didn’t feel the closeness that one can feel with God. It’s a practice that I need to carry forward. I can definitely see picking this book up again during Lent for a refreshing forty day journey with God, Thank you to Tyndale House for an advanced
