Lisa Regan is a master storyteller.
You will not want to put this series down. It’s a page turner for sure.
The characters are likable and hateful which brings the whole story line together.
Can’t wait to read on with Di Josie.

It didn’t take long for Josie Quinn to become one of my favourite detectives.
Having read a few more in this series (like, how fast does Lisa Regan write?!) this has definitely been my favourite book in this series so far! I really loved the flashes between past and present, it added some punch to the story and made it even more interesting. I really enjoyed learning more about Josie and her past and having this story revolve around her much more. This is one hell of a thriller, from start to finish it’s non-stop action and twists and turns that constantly keep you guessing right until the very end! I thought the ending was really interesting, it’s not what I was expecting and threw me. Fantastic read
Needless to say I am always eagerly waiting for the next book!
Thanks to Bookouture for allowing me to read this in exchange for a review.

This is one of those books that stays with you well after you have absorbed the last word, closed the book, and set it aside. Wow! This book dealt a punch! I could not put it down and sat on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next.

The story is told through flashbacks to Josie Quinn's childhood. I know there are sick and manipulative people out there, but Josie's "mom" takes that to a new level. There are twists and turns, secret revealed, horrors discovered, lies brought to light, and you will cringe and cry out at times in reponse.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookoutre for an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion. I have been a Lisa Regan fan since reading my first Josie Quinn book. I am now a huge fan for life! I will be reading every book in this series and look forward to many adventures in the future.

Thank you NetGalley for a copy of My Mother’s Grave!

What a great book this was! This is the first in the Josie Quinn series that I’ve read and I kind of wish I’d read book 1 and 2 before this book but oh well! I still really enjoyed it! Josie Quinn, the Chief of Police, is called to the scene of a body discovered in the woods. The body, which has been buried for about 30 years, is identified as Belinda Rose, which happens to be her mother’s name. Honestly, I don’t even think I can use the word “mother” to describe the fake Belinda Rose. What this woman did to Josie as a child is disgusting and I’ve never wanted to punch someone in the face more in my life! Anyways, strange things start happening around Josie... her house is broken into, ads keep popping up on Craigslist soliciting men to do horrible things to her, and more but who is responsible? The big bad drug dealer Josie just put away? Her mother? Someone else connected to the real Belinda Rose and her murder?? There were so many twists in this book and you’ll be guessing until the end.

Lisa Regan is one of the best authors I am so glad I discovered this year. I thought I've read all of her books, and was so happy when I discovered one I missed! This is one of the best series I've read, and can't wait for the next one! Highly, highly recommended.

This is the third book in the Detective Josie Quinn series. Josie is called to a scene in the woods where she used to live, because remains have been found. Josie used to play in this woods, so it is a little unnerving for her as she escaped that life at the hands of her abusive mother, Belinda Rose. When dental records ID the remains as that of a foster child from thirty years ago, named Belinda Rose, Josie has all sorts of questions. Who is her mother? Did she have anything to do with it? Why does she have the same name? When another body is found, someone then wants to stop Josie from finding the truth about the past.
This is another great read from Regan. Her novels do not disappoint. Her stories are fast paced and very well thought out. She is fantastic and one of my favorite in police procedurals/suspense/mystery authors. I always look forward to new books of hers that are issued. Another great read!

Wow, this was quite a book!! Josie had a dysfunctional upbringing and after pulling herself up by the bootstraps, rising up the ranks of the police force to become the Chief of Police, a very odd case lands on her desk.

What is the connection between the bones which were found and her mother? And who is playing nasty games with her, and why?

I found this book pretty much unputdownable and I desperately hoped that Josie would be ok, because after an upbringing like hers, she deserved all the good things in the world to happen to her. Clearly, I got emotionally involved in this story, and it speaks to the skills of the author as a storyteller that I was so enthralled.

The story had plenty of flashbacks to Josie's early life which added to the flavour of the story, and although I wish it wasn't true that some people have childhoods like this, I am afraid that I believe that it is.

5 well-deserved stars for this story, it was amazing. I really want to know what happens next, so have bought the next book in the series.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture.

What a story this was. Having loved Lisa Regan’s first two Josie Quinn books, I let Her Mother’s Grave languish on my TBR pile for far too long. It was such an addictive read that I have spent most of the day reading it and doing little else.

Josie is a fantastic character who I have really enjoyed reading about over the course of the past two books. The team she works with are fantastic (namely Noah who is a fantastic character that helps to show the different depths to Jodie’s complicated character). I also love the fictional setting of Denton which whilst only a small town, has seen more action than most cities in recent times. In Her Mother’s Grave we see Josie dealing with a hugely personal case, one that will threatens to push her over the edge and one that reveals some incredible secrets about her own life.

Honestly there’s not much to say about this story other than READ IT. The plot is so masterfully written that the story is just a joy to read. Lisa Regan has written one hell of a mystery here, not so much in the sense of who the killer is, but all the little intricacies of why that person is killing, and the mystery surrounding Josie Quinn’s life itself. With twists that reveal themselves when you least expect it, and such emotion throughout, this story really consumed me as I read and I finished it even more endeared to Josie and Noah. This series is just fantastic and should be on the radar of everybody who reads crime fiction.

was a gripping thriller that took you to every aspect of trying to figure out what was really going on and what was going to happen next! This was such an amazing book and I can’t wait to see what else is released from this author!

Having read the previous two books in the series I was really looking forward to reading this one. Josie Quinn and her team are called to a scene where two young bous have discovered human bones beneath a tree in a trailer park and Josie used to play here in the woods when she was little to get away from her abusive mother.
When the bones are identified as belonging to a teenage foster child called Belinda Rose Josie's world is thrown into turmoil as her mother's name is also Belinda Rose!!! With a definite link between the dead girl and her mother Josie must track her mother down but does she dare??? Then another body is discovered and it becomes clear somebody doesn't want the truth to be discovered. Her mother's grave is a very compelling read and fully lived up to my high expectations after reading the first two books in the series.

Thank you to Bookouture, Lisa Regan and NetGalley for the arc of Her Mother's Grave my review is honest and unbiased in any way.

Detective Josie Quinn is investigating when young boys find human bones. These bones are found in the woods behind a trailer park that Josie once lived with her mother when she was a child.

Imagine her surprise when the bones are confirmed belong to a young woman who was murdered 30 years ago ... Belinda Rose... who happens to be Josie's mother.

So if this is the real Belinda Rose .. who is the woman who raised Josie?

Just as Josie gets closer to uncovering a secret that will shatter her world forever, another body is uncovered. It’s suddenly clear that someone very close to Josie will stop at nothing to keep the truth buried forever.

This was an excellent addition to this series. Josie has had her share of problems over the years, but this book takes the reader back to when Josie was the child of an alcoholic, drug-riddled toxic mother.

Her problem with a stalker evolves. Someone is posting her name and phone number on craigslist .. asking for those who would like a good time to call her. One man has accosted her in front of a grocery store. Her car has been vandalized ... her house broken into. There are no clues ... but who would want these things done to her?

Riding a roller coaster is tamer than the action of this book. A real page turner, the twists and turns pop up when you least expect them. The chapters are divided ... the current life of Josie and then those from when she was a child. You cry for the child and wonder how she survived relatively normal.

Although third of a series, this one reads easily as a stand alone. As always, I highly recommend starting at the beginning of this terrific series. Josie is a fascinating character.

Many thanks to the author / Netgalley / Bookouture for the digital copy of this crime fiction. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Wow, just wow! This is the 3rd book in the Detective Josie Quinn series and my favorite so far. Although this can be read as a stand-alone, I recommend reading the previous books. This is a very well written, fast-paced, page-turner. I definitely wasn’t expecting that shocking ending.

Lisa Regan has become on of my favorite authors. If you are looking for a gripping thriller, I highly recommend this book.

A little bit dark, as Josie revisits her rough upbringing in a pretty miserable trailer park, but a good mystery.

I've devoured all three of these books in a day (I had the other two already and had saved them to read before reading this - a mini binge, if you will). It was a good day. Quinn isn't a perfect character, she has her flaws, but it just makes her more relatable, and she's good at her job. She gets it done. This is another book that just grabs you from the start and doesn't let go - it's like a bucking bronco, an extreme roller coaster. It's absolutely worth the ride.
Ready for the next one.

Wow! I just love this series and absolutely loved this book!

HER MOTHER’S GRAVE (Detective Josie Quinn Book 3) by LISA REGAN was a highly entertaining, riveting, twisty, and suspenseful read that immediately grabbed my attention and held right to that very satisfying conclusion.

LISA REGAN delivers an absolutely fabulous story here with compelling characters and a gripping storyline that takes us back to Josie’s childhood. The story is told through flashback chapters when Josie was young and in the present with a new case that she is investigating.  I really enjoyed the flashback chapters and thought it flowed perfectly with the present case which added quite a bit of suspense to the story for me. All the mysteries and how they all tied together was perfectly executed.

I really enjoyed learning about Josie’s past and all the things that she endured in the hands of her mother.  But, it definitely wasn’t easy to read - it was quite intense, disturbing, and definitely pulled at my heartstrings.

This was an extremely fast-paced read that had me rapidly swiping those pages as fast as I could - in fact I binged read Book 2 and Book 3 with my Traveling Friends. This series is that good!

Norma’s Stats:
Cover: Cover love!  I am a country gal and anything that looks rustic or haunting is very appealing to me!  Out of all three books in this series I would say this is my favourite.
Title: Intriguing, suspenseful, and loved how it played so cleverly into the plot.
Writing/Prose: Well-written, solid, gripping, and proficient.
Plot: Dark, gritty, action-packed, enthralling, suspenseful, held my attention fully and highly entertaining.
Ending: Shocking, satisfying, and took me by surprise.  I didn’t see that ending coming at all!
Overall: The drama, revelations, suspense, thrills, chills, and those shocking twists and turns definitely made me one happy and totally satisfied reader upon closing this book. This was my absolute favourite book from the Josie Quinn series and I can hardly wait to read the next installment!  Would highly recommend!

Thank you so much to NetGalley, Bookouture, and Lisa Regan for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book in exchange for a review.

This was one roller coaster ride where bones found buried soon leads Detective Josie Quinn to investigate the murder of a foster child 3 decades ago.
Lisa Regan's main character Josie is dynamic and thorough. In this story, she has memories of her past coming into the forefront, which made me like her all the more.
The story moves fast, with its twists and I could read the book easily over the afternoon in 2 hours. A fun plot made this book a thrilling ride.

Josie Quinn has become one of my favourite detectives, and I'm so glad I could get my hands on this one.

Her Mother's Grave was chilling, and since it was so close to Josie herself, the story was even more intriguing.

The suspense was just enough to keep me swiping to the next page, and the glimpses into Josie's childhood only spurred me on.

The plotline was solid, intricately connecting the past and present. The suspense held on until the very end, and there was not a single dull moment.

All in all, Her Mother's Grave was a shocking and exciting read.

what happens when the person responsible for solving the mysteries, is the mystery? The one person Police Chief Josie Quinn would rather never see again, has to be found...by her. An interesting twist, with enough side events to keep everyone hopping, the book is an enjoyable read. I had not read the first two books, so feel like I could have missed some back references, but enjoyed the story never less.
