I haven’t loved the Josie Quinn books--until now. Her Mother’s Grave, IMHO, is the best book in the series so far!

Her Mother’s Grave can be read as a standalone.

When a body of a teenage girl is unearthed, Chief of Police Josie Quinn and her team begin an investigation. The more they uncover about the dead girl, the more Josie reflects on her childhood and her abusive mother; exposing her vulnerabilities and putting her in imminent danger.

This book is focused on Josie’s childhood and the abuse she suffered at the hands of her mother. Starting from the age of 6 to 14, the reader learns just how vindictive, cruel, and sick Josie’s mother was. The bits and pieces that are hinted at in the first two books are finally revealed, including Josie’s link to Trinity Payne.

This book has it all: drama, action, suspense, and a little bit of romance. What made me like this book more than others in the series is that the plot is tightly wound, without some of the messy twists in the earlier books. Now that the series has hit its stride, I hope that there’s more of Josie Quinn books to come!

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and Bookouture in exchange for an honest review.

Wow this book was amazing I loved it. Right from the start it was fast paced and full of action and suspense. The characters are great, really likeable. There’s a lot of nasty stuff going on in this book and it’s really well written to give you those wow moments. That ending, oh wow! This is a fantastic read, I highly recommend it and don’t hesitate in giving at 5 stars it was brilliant, there is absolutely nothing negative I can say about this book I loved it.

I could not put this book down! Read it in one day -- I just had to keep going to see where Lisa Regan was taking Josie Quinn... I think she gets stronger with each book... WOW. In the previous novels, the readers learn some of Josie's back story, but in Her Mother's Grave, we are let into her entire background. I loved the twists and turns -- and the strength that Josie demonstrated throughout make her one of my most favorite literary characters. With this change of events, I can't wait to see what Ms. Regan does with her next. If you can't tell, I loved this book!

Lisa Regan took me on a seriously twisted mother from hell story in Her Mothers Grave (Detective Josie Quinn Book 3).
This book is horrifying and traumatic, but the good woman wins in the end...but not before there are dead bodies left lying around.
Now I have to go back and start at the beginning of the series. Detective Josie Quinn is one strong, courageous woman!
Solid 5 stars.

WOW! Lisa Regan doesn’t disappoint with the third installment of the Josie Quinn series. It kept me guessing until the end! I spent most of the afternoon finishing the book and hated having it end.

When the book starts, Josie gets a call about a body in the woods. As the story deepens, you are drawn into Josie’s life and flashbacks to her childhood. How does the body tie to Josie? Dive in for the best read of the summer!

Josie Quinn really cannot catch a break. I have read the first two books and I was so eager to start this one.

This was a great read! Poor Josie really has a lot of stuff going on but she always tries to overcome this and keep on going.
She is a great character and this is a great book to read!

MEGA BIG FAN of Lisa Regan's JOSIE QUINN!!! There is nothing that this book does not offer from suspense, crime, love, and characters that become a part of your life until the last page is read. This is the third in this series and would recommend reading these in order but if not pick this one up because I think it is fantastic. Quinn is the police chief who is called on to solve a murder that happened decades ago. But.. how she puts the pieces together to do this and finds the connections to renew her childhood horrors is nail biting. "A copy of this book was provided by Bookouture via Netgalley with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion." Love the cover art. Thought this might be the last in this series but noted in Regan's website that it may continue. HOPE SO!!!

Lisa Regan has written another great mystery. The only thing wrong is it ended and now I'm back to waiting for another of her books. The Josie Quinn novels are twofers. One a very good mystery, and a interesting personal story. Reading her books reminds me of Lisa Gardner or Karen Slaugther books. Two of my favorites. This is a mystery that is close to Quinn herself. Read Lisa Regan and treat yourself to one of the best.

Wow, I loved this book. Jose is a Chief of Police and starts having break ins.. Digs into her past as this jumps back and forth between now time and when Jose was a child. When she was a child her Mother is deep into drugs . She puts her daughter through all kinds of abuse. Jose thinks her Dad kills himself ( At end of book she finds her Mother killed him) ..She finds out the Mother she thinks is her Mother is not her Mother she is a twin and her Mother kidnapped her. There was a murder 30 years ago in town and two young boys dig up the bones of the girl. come to find out this was a cover up the judge was in on, judges wife and the one Jose thought was her Mom. They kept the dead girls baby ( The Judge was the real Father of the baby ). The judges wife killed her and cleaning girl( Jose's Mom) all knew this. Loads more happed A must read. A wonderful book .

"Her Mothers Grave" is the third book in the Detective Josie Quinn series by Lisa Regan and wowzer, what an incredible read! This is a masterclass for how to pen a killer thriller.

Josie Quinn races to the scene where two boys have discovered the body of a teenager who had been dead for 30 years. She went by the name Belinda Rose, the same name Josie's abusive mother used. There is a clear connection between the names but does she dare track her mother down? We learn an awful lot about Josie's past and the physical and mental abuse she endured as a child.

I am already eagerly awaiting book 4! I will be picking up the first two before the fourth comes out to learn more about Quinn in particular. A totally captivating from beginning to end with a few surprises along the way. The narrative switches between Josie's past and present which works extremely well. I enjoyed the dynamic between Josie and Noah and look forward to seeing their relationship develop further.

This is my first Lisa Regan book but I plan to read the rest of them over the weekend perhaps. Highly recommended.

Many thanks to Bookouture for an ARC. I was not required to post a review and all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

Another wonderful book in this series. Josie Quinn is now the Police Chief and investigates the murder of a young woman whose identity was stolen by Josie's mother. Someone is also harassing Josie - slashing tires, breaking into her house and placing sex ads on the Internet. I liked the development of a relationship between Josie and Noah, I hope there is a Book 4 in this series. Thank you NetGalley, Bookoutre and the Author for allowing me to read and review this book.

What a powerhouse of revelations about Josie's past. It all starts with a body of a teenager who has been dead 30 years is discovered and the shocking revelation that her name was Belinda Rose the same name Josie's abusive mother went by.

The investigation into Belinda Rose's life uncovers so much but nothing more shocking than the eventual connection to Josie. Up until this point Josie has had a for shit life. Physically and mentally abused as a child, her husband turned out to be a dirty cop and is now dead, her fiance also didn't turn out to be the man she thought he was. Now, as crappy as her childhood was, she is finding out it was far worse than she could ever have imagined.

What a crazy ride this book was. The toggling between Josie's past and the present of investigating Belinda Rose's life was captivating. You knew at the end of the journey it was going to be bad but the author still managed some good shockers in there.

Hopefully now Josie can put all of her past behind her. I cant wait to see where the author takes this series next.

5 stars

Police Chief Josie Quinn catches a very odd and very personal case. Two boys playing in the woods have discovered a skeleton. The identity comes back as one Belinda Rose. She was murdered approximately thirty years earlier. But that was Josie’s mother’s name. It can’t be. So, who was the woman who called herself her mother? Josie does not want to go back to her abusive childhood. The memories are ones that she has tried to put out of her mind for years now. As Josie begins to accept the truth, she and her team start the investigation by beginning to look into Belinda Rose’s life. They speak to several people, including Josie’s grandmother.

Lloyd Todd, drug kingpin and currently awaiting trial on drugs and other charges also has a connection to Belinda Rose. He was her boyfriend in high school. During the interview at the time of her last disappearance, Lloyd said that he had seen her some time before and she was fine then. Instead of talking to Lloyd, they speak to his brother Damon. Damon imparts a surprising revelation.

At the same time, Josie is suffering some very real harassment. Someone is putting ads on Craig’s List that put her in personal danger, even citing that she is a cop. Tires are slashed and windows are broken. Who could be doing this? Josie suspects Lloyd Todd is behind it, but isn’t sure. The police get a break when Josie comes home while there are burglars in the house. They are arrested and claim a man named Zeke put them up to it.

What follows is a twisted tale of revenge by a very sick person, all directed at Josie. The subplot blends into the Belinda Rose investigation.

This is a very well written and plotted novel. There is not one wasted word in it. I liked Josie and felt for her horrible past. I appreciated the relationship between Josie and detective Noah. This is my first Lisa Regan book, and I very much look forward to reading more of her novels.

I want to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for forwarding to me a copy of this great book to read, enjoy and review.

Her Mother's Grave is the latest Josie Quinn story by Lisa Regan. Although part of a series, Her Mother's Grave is a stand alone story. This book should come with a warning. So riveting it's difficult to put down and at a certain point it's impossible. Twists and surprises will keep the reader at the edge of their seat. I'm giving Her Mother's Grave 5 stars only because it's the highest possible. I think this is Ms Regan's best work yet. I was given an early copy to review.
