Thanks to NetGalley and G. Bailey for the opportunity to read this book for free in exchange for an honest review...and I am pretty sure G. Bailey just got a new avid fan and follower!

Isola Dragice is heir to the throne of ice and fire, not to mention one of the last ice dragons. Fire dragons and their fire rebellion aim to assassinate her and bring fire to the throne over centuries of an ice ruler. On Earth, it was assumed that she might be safe from all that, but the murder of her mate brings her back to Dragca where she has four fire dragons protecting her...and falling for her! But a curse on the ice throne prevents Isola from being able to love her dragon guard!

Overall, I really enjoyed this novel and am definitely going to be reading the next one. The grammar bothered me in many instances, but the story was so fun, fast-paced, and exciting that those mechanical things were easily looked over after the first couple of chapters. The reverse harem (one girl in the interest of three or more guys) is interesting for female readers who are into love triangles...or squares...pentagon? The main male characters appeal to different interests that a woman might have (the nice guy, the bad boy, etc.) which is fun and give the reader an easy favorite depending on their preference. Advised for readers 18+. There are many sexual innuendos and references, although sex itself was not present in this novel, which was disappointing, but it's also the first book. I am hoping, being recommended 18+, that things will become more adult in material as the series progresses. This is the first time I have read something of G. Bailey's and I am definitely interested in not only the rest of this series, but after some research, some of the author's other series' as well, which definitely have an appeal for my age and gender.

Great read. The characters and story are great. It has some great twists and turns. Readers will be drawn into the story from the first page.

A interesting idea in need of an editor. There are too many things in the story that don't make sense. Not the magical made up stuff, but the mundane. The story didn't seem properly fleshed out. Isola and her dragons are ok characters. I wish there had been a clear villain and conflict. I think it would've helped Isola seem less whiney and more justifiably fearful for her life and future. I also wish there had been more world building. For all it's potential there wasn't enough to inspire me to read any further in this series.

great book, can´t wait to read the next in this series. A perfect combination of two worlds and kingdoms.

This was . . . not to my taste. I found the worldbuilding to be incoherent, to the point where I had to double-check that this wasn't a later book in the series. Characters were thinly-drawn, and the dialogue needed a lot of work; nobody had a distinctive 'voice' and the characters often seemed to blur together. Without strong characters I couldn't care about the protagonist's fate, and the romance failed to gel. I had trouble keeping to the plot, which seemed to veer wildly around with little driving force behind it.

This read like a first draft, not a complete, polished novel.

This story just wasn’t for me, it jumped from one time to another and I just couldn’t keep up, the heroine Isola was not a favorite of mine either.

Oh wow this was so much fun to read!

I LOVE Dragon stories, and the way this was done was new and exciting! I love the world that has been created and the characters in it!

There are several mysteries yet to have explained, but it was fun to learn about the world and the people in it. i dod not expect the outcome of the book, and This is a storyline I am eager to continue reading!

Part of me was expecting this to be a “typical” story... girl goes to school, girl gets crown, girl goes to war with chosen partner, girl wins. I was thrilled when there were unexpected additions!

This is quite fast paced, and a lot goes on in book one so I am excited to read more! The writing style is fun, but easy to read, relaxing and energising at the same time. The Characters are each very different, and each adds an intriguing element to the storyline.

I can’t wait to read book 2!

OMFG why did I wait too read this book. Once I started reading I didn’t want to put my kindle down. Between curses and sexy dragons and trying to figure out who turned Isola’s world upside down, I was hooked. I’m dying to read book 2 because I need to know what’s going too happen next.

I wish I was Isola the woman had men surrrounding her, I loved Elias the most though, that man was such a tease, “really? Somehow, I doubt it, my naughty princess ,” he chuckles, brushing his naked chest against my body as he lifts my arm." I liked that Elias could admit when he's wrong, “I’m a d***hebag, and I’m sorry. I fancy you, alright? My dragon does, too, and he is flooding me with desire for you,” he says. “I’m not thinking straight right now.” I liked this book, and I can't wait to see where this series goes.

3.5 Stars

Well, I wasn't expecting that twist in the book! Now what I want to know is when will the next book be out? You can't leave me hanging this way. Hahahaha.

You had me at dragons, to be honest. Out of all the paranormal-fantasy creatures, dragons are my favorite. But aside from this being a book involving dragons, I reall,y really liked the world-setting. I liked Isola and her men. I really loved Bee. I want to see Isola get her HEA and I can't wait to find out what happens in book 2!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for granting me an ARC of this book.

This is 290 pages of intrigue and everyone is out to win and rule over Dragca, but not as long as the princess, Isola, is alive. I loved the pace, the story (because dragons are my favorite mythical creatures) and where would this be without four different guys swooning over Isola?
It’s the first book in the Protected by Dragons series and what a great start to the story, because if this is how you get my attention, then I’m so hoping you keep it all through the remaining books! I can’t wait to see Isola take back what’s hers and restore order to their realm.
My favorite scene because I was definitely rooting for Elias and Isola :-), well, Dagan had me at “Kittycat” but that’s TMI for now, just get the book and read it.

“Eli,” I whisper.

“You need to rest, but that was real. That is what is between us: chemistry, magic, and f--- knows what else, but I want to find out…I’m done letting rules f--- with my mind when it comes to you, the rules of this damn curse.”

Thank you NetGalley for the eARC because how else would I get to read so many awesome books!

I enjoyed this book. I liked that it was different to other dragon stories I've read. There was a twist at the end that I didn't see coming. Definitely interested in finding out what happens next with these characters.
