I read this book to my grandchildren and grandnephew. My nephew is a volunteer firefighter, so this book was especially interesting to them. The illlustrations are photographs so that added to the information given in the story. There were very lively discussions as I read this story as they had all seen and sat in a real firetruck. This is a great book to read with children as well as to use in a primary classroom when learning about community helpers, transportation, safety etc. A great non-fiction book for all school, public and classroom libraries. Victoria Marcos is the author of many of the "My Favorite" book series for young children and I have not been disappointed yet. The publisher, Xist publishing, generously provided me with a copy of this book. The rating, ideas and opinions are my own.

This book has excellent photographs of fire trucks- all types! The captions are very informative so the reader and the child will learn probably learn together. My son loves fire trucks. It brought both of us joy for me to read this book with him. I love to see the excitement on his face as he studies the different fire trucks and learns their functions! I highly recommend this book, especially if your little person loves fire trucks too!

This is a fantastical educational children's book!

It is very informative about what fire trucks and firefighters do and asks questions along the way that helps increase comprehension on the subject as well as increasing memorization. My children love this book and won't stop talking about firetrucks now and asking to read it again! They also remembered what the fire hydrant was from the book and recognized one outside.

A+ book on graphics and material!

I received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

As always, this series has photos instead of drawings, which I think makes it better (ignore the part where I’m a photographer).
Lots of beauty shots in red; just about the only blue was a light. The most interesting photos were the ones showing the equipment stored in every nook and cranny.
There’s some really simple tests, with the answers in the back, alongside a glossary with incredibly basic definitions, which show this book is meant for very young children.
3.5 pushed up to 4/5

Little boys and fire trucks go together like peanut butter and jelly. I read this one with my great nephew and almost lost my tablet to him. What a joy to see a child reading! Be sure to schedule lots of time when you start this one, you will be rereading it several times.

Short and engaging, this basic book about fire trucks for toddlers and Pre-K children is filled with colorful photographs of fire trucks in all their glory. What they do, how they work, what they carry, how they connect to fire hydrants and more--it's all here. As with other educational books in this series, simple questions are interspersed throughout the text, with answers in the back.
