Past Tense by Lee Child is another installment in the Jack Reacher series. Consistent with the other books in the series, Past Tense was fast-paced and cinematic. This is a great series and it's compulsively binge-able.

I received a review copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley for my honest review. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

Exciting and fast paced. Jack Reacher adventures are always a scream. Lee Child continues the series adding dimension to his protagonist and letting the reader become his best friend.

Great Addition to the Series

Another crackerjack entry in the Jack Reacher series. It is as intriguing and suspenseful as the other Reacher books, with the addition of some interesting background on Reacher's family history. I've read all the Reacher books to date, and I'm eagerly looking forward to more.

Thank you NetGalley for providing this book for an honest review. How can you not like Jack Reacher? He is an intense investigator. Jack Reacher books are full of action and lots of twists. I highly recommend.

This is book 23 of the Jack Reacher Series. Jack decides to take a trip across the country. When he sees a sign for the town where his father grew up, he takes the detour and goes there. Also in town are some people who were are their way to sell a treasure. Now, they are all in a small town in the middle of nowhere where the past and the present collide.

Can't believe I never sent in a review! Lee Child remains one of my favorites and. love Jack Reacher!

This was one of the better Jack Reacher novels. We got a little more information on Reacher's past and what motivates his activities.

The highlight of this novel is the mixed story lines. There is great interaction between the characters, but the story leaves something to be desired. The tie ins for the story lines were ok, but realistically one story line had nothing to do with another and it felt like details were just thrown together to make it work. Rather disappointed.

I received a ARC copy of this book in exchange for a fair review

Jack Reacher, the infamous nomad, is back out on the road again. His plans? To do what he always does, following the road to wherever it takes him. This time, he is actually planning a trip from Maine to California. As usual, he doesn't make it far when something happens.

He discovers a sign to visit a place that he believes his father was born in. How could an innocent side road impact his life? He takes off down this newly discovered road.

On another path, two motorists car break down. Who's inside? Two people that have big plans to sell the treasure inside the car. They become stranded at a seemingly normal motel.

What happens exactly with Reacher and the stranded motorists? Everything isn't as it seems in this road trip adventure.

Reviews are mixed on this particular Reacher novel with no clear distinction between new fans and old fans. While I liked this story and felt Lee Child was able to capture the feel of the earlier Reacher novels, the twisting plot and often too good to be true coincidences do exist. The story just didn't quite measure up to the feel Child was trying to capture.

My boyfriend absolutely loved this so I’ll be pulling for his notes in this one.
Character is still a great hero to adventure with. Lots of plot loops and spins, and exactly what was needed for end of day wind down reading.

"Past Tense" is most definitely a return to the writing style that most of us early Reacher fans embraced. This book features a plausible plot, with interesting twists and turns, but most of all, it lets Reacher be Reacher! There's some interesting character development, local history, coupled with a bunch of epic action scenes we Reacher fans live for! Kudos to Lee Child for re-connecting with his "Inner Reacher", and delivering the best novel in many years!

Jack Reacher is back and as usual he finds trouble following him. This was an enjoyable book, but the series is getting a bit stale for me. How many different ways can Reacher get into trouble and get himself out again. It is a solid no brainer read that has value as entertainment. There is suspense and action. Thank you to net galley for a copy.

This edition to the Reacher series is a little different. Reacher decides to visit the birthplace of his father and in the process makes some friends and several enemies. One set owns an apple orchard and the other a motel. Reacher tends to provoke others more than normal and a little more bloodthirsty as well. He does good deeds however and saves the day for a couple from Canada. Lots of action and the dialogue is very interesting. I enjoyed this book very much but not as good as previous books.

All of the Jack Reacher books are great and this one is no exception. Reacher wants to know something about his past and ends up getting deeply involved with the present. This one will keep you turning the pages as Reacher discovers a past that he was not aware of. I highly recommend it.

What a stud! Jack Reacher is looking for his roots and all hell breaks out...of course... in this 23rd installment of Lee Child's Jack Reacher series. Never a dull moment.

I would like to thank Dell and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book.

You can’t go wrong with another Jack Reacher book. A plot with twists and turns as Reacher tries to find out about his father. Actually two plots as you follow a Canadian couple who has car trouble and ends up in the same town as Jack. Read and find out how the intersect and the book ends!

The Jack Reacher series is like the Road Runner/Wylie Coyote cartoon. You know, the same desert, same road, same chase but one one day you hope that coyote gets the road runner so you keep watching, just in case. Well, I keep hoping that Jack Reacher will quit hitchhiking, fall in love and maybe not walk into a town with some gangster/meth dealer/Army evil person wanting to fight him. I did enjoy the story because there was a unique kidnapping situation ; however, this might be the end of the road for me.

I've read only two or three of the novels in the Jack Reacher series before this and, after this, I'm definitely going to read more of them. I found this to be a surprisingly entertaining read.
