Maud ha ottantasei anni, un enorme appartamento in un buon quartiere per cui non paga affitto, abbastanza risparmi da garantirle una vita serena e tutti i viaggi che desidera fare: viaggi avventurosi, adatti a una donna ancora in forma fisicamente e mentalmente.

Certo, i motivi di nervosismo non mancano: giovani irrispettosi che pensano di approfittarsi di un'anziana signora, vicini di casa molesti, persone che non sanno cosa sia il rispetto.

E Maud non è certo il tipo che si faccia metterei piedi in testa, sopratutto se il rimedio all'inconveniente è un omicidio piccolo piccolo.

Una raccolta di racconti divertentissima, con una protagonista sensata e ragionevole: così ragionevole che, insomma, ti fa pensare che se la siano proprio andata a cercare, le sue vittime!

Unfortunately, the advanced copy I downloaded from NetGalley cut off the end of the book. However, from what I read, I enjoyed the quirky nature of this book. Maud is an old lady, living alone, who murders when someone pisses her off! It's quite the strange story, but somehow it is fun to read. I hope that I can finish the book when my library orders it.

What are you willing to do to keep your home and life the same? Maud has lived in her apartment rent free ever since she was 18 , when her father died. Every time it looks like she is going to lose her quiet happy life, Maud solves the problem with murder. Not my cup of tea but I'm sure there are folks that will like this.

Thank you net galley. I loved the stories in the book. The formatting of the book was not very good on my kindle but the stories were delightful and humorously wicked. Highly recommended.

This was a really fun short story collection. This little old lady (she's 89) who keeps murdering people who get in her way. It was enjoyable to read people dismiss her and how she plays with their expectations of her being old. My biggest problem is that this is very short. I was so disappointed when I realized that I had read the last story. I want more stories of her killing people and getting away with it.
