I can't tell you enough how much I love Rona's book and, as soon as I saw this one available on Audio, I had to get it! I have it on my Kindle and as a signed copy and as I love audio, this was the final push to get me to read it!

I have read every (bar 2) twisty book she has ever written and this was her debut - what a way to introduce yourself! This story of Natalie and her plight to return to her son was addictive! I couldn't believe how deep this betrayal went! And jeez one of the deaths *shudder* even back then Rona's mind was dark dark dark!! But secretly I love that she can still shock me after all this time!

The story is a sad one, a hard one and a shocking one. To have your life cruelly ripped away because of one person, and for a rarity - to be innocent. We have to watch Natalie try to piece it all back together again. To watch her understand what the heck went wrong, and all she wants is her boy. It was intense, someone was stalking her - we know this from the chapters from an unknown quantity. But we have an idea who, because of Natalie's idea of who it might be. We have chapters from the past and the present, and everything pieces together so slowly! It wasn't until the meet-up near the end that I realised I was so wrong as to who was behind it all, and I wished I had seen it earlier!! Such a stinger!!

I really enjoyed this one, it was narrated perfectly, but I was impatient and kept flitting to the Kindle book! What an adventure!

This book is an introduction to a new author in thriller writing. The story is few of twists and turns and is told in two different time lines - now and then. It gives you the back story of why the main character is in prison and what happens after when they get out. I enjoyed this story and look forward to reading this authors next book.

This is the first book by Rona I've read, and without a doubt not the last. I loved each and every page of it, and I kept on turning and turning, just to see how everything works out. I did NOT see the ending coming, and it was a brilliant twist to a very entertaining and thrilling read. Highly recommended!
Now on to Love you gone!

Wow! Wow! What can I say? This book was a cracker!

Natalie had a loving husband and beautiful baby and a life she thought was complete, she thought she had under control. That was until she started losing parts of her life while making extravagant purchases that she didn’t remember. When the police come knocking at her door and take her to the station for questioning, before arresting her, everything she thought she knew comes to the surface and reaches a confrontational head!

Set in the now, being the present day after her release, and the then, being the story of how she found herself being sent to prison and serving her term, I found the storyline painted a perfect picture of a mother on a desperate hunt to win back the son she lost when she went to prison.

With characters like Jack, the musician she met on her release from prison, Sasha, her childhood best friend, Tom, her husband, Katya, her prison confidant and her brother Lech and Mary, the bed and breakfast host, the book had us guessing who were friends and who were foes. I suspected everyone, I found myself looking over my shoulder at times and quickly read this gripping read.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read this book in reply for an honest review.

I received a digital arc of #KeepYouSafe from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is the second book I've read by this author and I loved it just as much as the first one. I did find myself trying to second guess certain aspects of the story and work out what the twist would be. I had a few theories and with one of them I had guessed the person correctly but hadn't worked out the motive. I do think I had only worked out part of the twist because I've read so many of this genre lately! I was only left with two questions at the end of this book - who was the insider passing on information from the prison to the outside world and why?

I love the way this author writes. It really draws you in and makes you want to keep reading!! I think I have found a new favourite author!!

2.5 Stars

This didn’t have quite the amount of thrills I was hoping for. It oscillates between Natalie’s past and present (in jail and then trying to find her son) as well as an anonymous first person who’s following Natalie. While the premise is interesting, I think I am over the near hysteria character with a shady past in thrillers.

The book opens with Natalie Wilson being released from prison.

Prior to her arrest, Natalie was happily married to Tom, and was struggling with being a new mother to baby Harry. She started experiencing memory lapses and ended up making expensive purchases, of which she had no recollection. She gets arrested for embezzling funds from a client.
After having served 3 years in prison, for a crime she doesn’t remember committing, her main aim is to find Harry who she left as a baby, when he was 6 months old.
However, someone is determined that she doesn’t succeed - who, and why?

Told alternatively between the then and the now, and an unknown character who is keeping tabs on her; this was an easy to read story. It was compelling and the anguish of the mother was portrayed well.
It did get a bit slow in the middle and perhaps the plot was a bit predictable.

However, for a debut, this is quite a promising, and intense novel which, and is definitely worth a read.

Full review to come.
I deeply apologize, but life is a handful lately and I'm using all my free time to read, not review. I hope everybody understands.

I loved this book. It was set "then" and "now" and the author kept you guessing right until the end. Although I guessed what was going to happen it didn't take anything away from the story line. Will definitely look out for more books from this author.

Thank you to Netgalley, Bookoture and Rona Halsall for the chance to read this book.

What if trying to protect your child only put them in danger?

Natalie Wilson has just been released on parole after spending 3 years in prison for a crime she says she didn’t commit. But her husband Tom believed the police and not only didn’t let her see Harry in all that time, he’s taken him somewhere so she can’t see him upon her release either. Now she’s out Natalie is determined to see Harry again and find out who set her up and destroyed her life. But she doesn’t know who she can trust and is being followed by someone out to harm her and her son. Can she find out the truth and keep her son safe?

This was a fantastic book. It is written mostly from the perspective of Natalie and goes back and forth from current to past events as we learn how she ended up in prison, her experiences while in there and what it is she did that lead to the threat on Harry’s life. She’s jumpy and anxious from the start and you get a sense of her unease and suspicion of everyone she sees around her. She has one focus: Harry. All she cares about is seeing her son and getting them both to safety.

There is a second narrator in this book who’s identity we don’t know. This person is hunting Natalie and is determined she won’t find her son or enjoy her freedom. No one is supposed to know she’s been released as it was done quickly and secretly due to the death threats but they know and are hot on her trail. The chapters told by this mysterious stalker were short, full of malice and added a chilling element as we read their pure hatred and plans.

This novel was easy to read as I couldn’t put it down. I needed to know what had happened to her in prison, if she was right to place her trust in certain characters and if she would finally find her son. I enjoyed the change in Natalie that took place during her time in prison and found the way she used to deal with her separation from her son very touching. I Another aspect I liked was that there were multiple candidates as to the identity of second narrator and that it wasn’t revealed until the climax, leaving you unsure about your suspicions and questioning the actions of multiple characters over and again.

Keep You Safe is a gripping debut novel that thriller fans will love. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Natalie has lost her husband and her child, she was committed of a crime she denies and has been released from prison. All she wants to do is get her son back. She breaches parole and goes to the Isle of Man where he is. Someone is following her and she is scared for her life.

This was such a gripping read. I spent every free moment with my nose in the book and devoured it. Loved the little twist at the end and would recommend highly. Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

This book was a wonderful debut ! Natalie a new mother working for her husbands business and is accused and convicted of of embezzlement. A crime Natalie has not memory of committing she’s been having trouble with her memory. Natalie’s husband Tom chooses to believe the police and is just horrible! While Natalie was incarcerated Tom moves to a different country with there son Harry. The whole time I was rooting for Natalie and when she’s finally out of prison she just wants to find her son. I highly recommend this book!

Imagine, being sent to prison for a crime you didn't commit. In this book, that's what happens to Natalie. And to make matters worse, her husband doesn't believe her! So he divorces her and takes off with her son. The book begins with Natalie getting out of prison. I enjoyed how most of the time, it was her point of view. Also how it goes from present to past. It kept me interested by only revealing bits and pieces at a time. Overall, it was a good book, but it seems this is the year of the Psychological Thriller/Suspense type genre and to be great, you have a LOT to beat. I would say this book was middle of the road.

Natalie’s husband encourages her to go back to work after their son Harry is born but then she is arrested for money laundering. She is innocent but pleads gulity after bring advised to do so as she will get a lesser sentence of 2 years but she gets 3 years. Her husband divorces her immediately and takes their son away with him to the Isle of Man. Now she is released and is detrmined to get her son back and her life. I really enjoyed this book eventhough I guessed what had happened early on it didn’t spoil the story at all and I wouldn’t have guessed it was her debut novel.

Thank you very much to NetGalley, Bookouture and Rona Halsall for tge arc of Keep You Safe my review is honest and unbiased.
