C.A. Szarek has written a solid historical romance. I enjoyed the storyline from the start to finish. Interesting plot.

Quite enjoyable, some places seemed to loose its rhythm, however it picks up enough for me to say that it’s a good read and interesting story .
I admit that time travel is not among my favourite of genres , this one I would say was among the better that I’ve read .

In the last couple of months I've discovered the genre of time travel romance and I absolutely love it! So when I came across this I immediately requested it. It was pretty cool. I really liked Lila and sympathize with her struggle when she was thrust in the seventeenth century. What I didn't understand how she could be so blasé about it all! But otherwise I really enjoyed her. We also share similar beliefs when it comes to holistic medicine. Similar because unlike her I am aware that modern medicine is based on the centuries of collected knowledge about herbs and their medicinal properties.

The male lead - Angus - is one of those men that make me wish just for a second (before I remember that I like to have independence and to not be some man's property) to have been born in those times. He is strong, skilled and compassionate. The kind of man that sweeps you off your feet and would tempt a modern woman to remain in the 17th century.

However what I loved most about this book was Angus' family. Especially his mother. I'd love to know more about her and her origins. A book about Alana and Alex's courtship would be an automatic buy from me!

Are you an Outlander fan? Having a hard time during this wicked droughtlander?
If so, I suggest you check out this book. Highland Oath is a fast fun ride through a similar world. I found that the bonus of also introducing faeries to be a welcomed addition to this tale. I will warn you that the language is a bit harsh but it's a romance novel so that is to be expected by many. I prefer my romance to have a little less of that though.
Overall, I would recommend this if you are a fan of time travel, romance novels, faeries, Scotland, or Outlander!
I received an ARC (Thank you!) of this book in exchange for an unbiased honest review.

I would rate this book a three star! The plot to this story was good, but there wasn't enough substance in the middle to hold it up! This book would be a perfect read after reading a more emotionally challenged book ...where you want something light and fluffy with a smitten of smut!

I would like to thank the author, the publisher and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in return for an honest and unbiased report
