I love books with animal sounds, especially when they rhyme and have cute little stories with them. I really enjoyed this funny little book that has the wrong animal sounds for each animal.

What a super cute book. The illustrations were great. The wording was easy for kids. I read this to my son who loves farm animals and he loved all the animal sounds, even if they were not with the correct animals. This book was so cute. Every animal wanted to be a different animal.

The Cow Said Neigh! A Farm Story by Rory Feek is a fun book for kids. Adults will also smile at the silly farm animals. The length of the book is perfect for small children that have notoriously short attention spans.
Colorful illustrations accompany each short paragraph. The farm animals are easy for younger kids and toddlers to recognize.
Rory Feek’s writing is simplistic. It is easy for kids ages three and older to understand. The book covers all the animals you would expect to see on a farm, only with a major change. The animals do not make the sounds you expect them to make.
This is a children’s book with a message. It is subtle, but still noticeable. Each animal wishes it was another one. The cow wants to be a horse and the duck a sheep. The story continues until it reaches the farmer.
Along with gently touching on envy, The Cow Said Neigh! A Farm Story is a book about acceptance.
At the end of the short story, the sleeping farmer wakes up to animals making the noises of another. Instead of scolding the animals, the farmer plays along. “Then the farmer smiled. What else could he do but open his mouth and let out a big Moo!”
This book teaches kids that everyone wants to be some else at least once. Instead of making fun of them, join in the game.

Both me and my little girl really really enjoyed this book. Had some great pictures and all around lovely.

Animals see other animals and make their sound. The rhymes are cute and the illustrations are appealing.

One example is:

The pig heard the sheep, and he looked in the yard.
At the dog on the porch who proudly stood guard.
‘If I were a dog, I bet I could be tough.’
And the pig wiggled his tail and let out a…RUFF!

I have always been fans of Joey and Rory. This book for Indiana is special.

This picture book is a winner. Children will love the fun way the animals’ voices are mixed up, creating a hilarious barnyard adventure. Although the story is predictable, that doesn’t take away from the enjoyment. The colorful illustrations add to the delight. I received a copy from the publisher. All opinions are my own. #TheCowSaidNeigh!(pictureBook) #NetGalley

I requested and received an e-ARC of this book from NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

Fantastic, silly, rhyming book! This book would be so much fun to read with small children, you could have them say the sound they think the animal will make and then say the actual sound the animal makes in the book. I think everyone could have a great laugh at how silly the animals are, especially when the farmer says Moo!

What a cute book! I can see children really enjoying this book because it is filled with colorful illustrations and the animals make different sounds than they normally do!
I gave it 4 stars because the book doesn’t have a great ending, but it is still a very cute book that I’m sure children will enjoy!

Thank you NetGalley for the copy of this book!

A super silly and cute kids book that can teach animal sounds to the young ones. This farm has the animal sounds mixed up, so I always asked what the animal should say. Super cute and fun!

Thank you Net Galley for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. This is a cute and silly book about wanting to be something you're not. The illustrations are cute and colorful. Both my 4 and 7 year old daughters really liked it. I liked the little nod to Joey and Indy.

This was a fun book to read to my kids. The pictures were colorful and detailed. I liked the story. It was a little repetitive but that's part of the story. Kids will enjoy this story.
When you read a kids story it's important to get their thoughts. I asked my kids what they thought and some questions about the book.
Both boys said they enjoyed it. They wanted to know what happened next. They liked how the animals got all mixed up. The pictures added to the story but the story itself was the most interesting.

The boys recommend this book. I recommend this book to family and friends.

I received this book from the publisher to read and give my honest opinion. All thoughts are our own.

My own child has a significant speech delay, but loves animal noises. He loved the rhyming in this book and his ability to predict what word might come next. The idea of a cow saying neigh was ridiculous and funny to him. He gave big belly laughs at each animal making the wrong noise. This was a cute, quick read.
I received a digital ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

This is such a cute book about animals that wish they were something else. It is a book that I could see myself reading over and over again to my young daughters. The story flows smoothly and it is such a fun read! Since it was given to me as an ARC I am going to order a hard copy right now to share with my daughters!

The Cow Said Neigh!, written by Rory Feek and illustrated by Bruno Robert, is the story of some peculiar farm animals who wish they were like other animals on the farm. The cow wants to run free like a horse, the sheep wants a snout like a pig, the dog wants to be inside like the cat. Soon the entire farm is in chaos!

The Cow Said Neigh! is a cute story about animals seeing the good of being someone else for a bit. The cow appreciates the freedom of the horse, who likes the look of the duck's quiet life, and so on. The rhymes are cute, and I liked the text style that was used. I think it was the art that caught my eye the most here though. I really enjoyed the colors and lines. There was whimsy to the art, but the lines were still nice and clean. The text placement, style, and color effects were balanced well with the art making the pages cohesive and fun. I think this could become a favorite read for many, and will make readers of all ages smile.

I found this book wildly entertaining as I read the rhyme, but then it stopped short when the farmer joined the madness. I expected more. A correction? A valuable turn of events back to normalcy? I felt cheated.

Omg this was such a cute funny story. The Cow Said Neigh is the story of some peculiar farm animals who wish they were like other animals on the farm. The cow wants to run free like a horse, the sheep wants a snout like a pig, the dog wants to be inside like the cat. Soon the entire farm is in chaos! From a barn window, a cow looks out longingly at a horse cantering in a nearby field: 'If I were a horse, I could run free all day,' the cow muses. Then it tries out its horse persona, letting out 'a big . . . NEIGH!' Each spread follows a similar pattern: an animal thinks another has a better deal and, as a first step toward enjoying that creature's appealing life, lets out its signature call, from quacks to oinks. I read this book to my two granddaughter's who are One & Two . I also read it to my 4 year old daughter. All 3 of them were laughing and making animal sounds. As soon as I finished it they were saying read it again over and over. The illustrations are bright and beautiful. The girls found it hilarious that the animals all say the wrong sounds. With each animal they would make the sound the animal would say then say what sound the animal should make. It was short enough yet long enough to hold their attention. It's 32 pages with a line or two on each page. The author writes in a sing song rhyme type way that is easy to read out loud.
I promise you will not be able to read it without laughing. I highly recommend getting this book. Many thanks to the Publisher , the Author , and NetGalley for a ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. All opinions I have expressed are my own or those of my family.
