The Affair is a truly emotional read that starts with a lot of tragedy. This story had fast pacing and lots of character development. Though it was a rollercoaster of a read, it wasn't really a thriller. Overall it was just okay.

The book was really well written and I liked the cast of characters. Alicia had an affair years ago and thought it was all behind her until the man is back in her life. I just couldn't get into the book but know other people would enjoy it

Good read. Enjoyed it. Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for the arc of this book in return for my honest review. Receiving the book in this manner had no bearing on this review.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to read and review this book.

After losing and replacing my broken Kindle and getting a new phone I was unable to download the title again for review as it was no longer available on Netgalley.

I’m really sorry about this and hope that it won’t affect you allowing me to read and review your titles in the future.

Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.

Wonderful read. Sheryl Brown didn’t disappoint me with this read. It’s the first book I have ever read of her and it won’t be the last.

This novel looks fab ''You trusted her. You shouldn't have.'' and after reading the reviews for it I was even more excited for it. Sadly found it a disappointment - it was okay, fine for a poolside holiday read but nothing stand out you'll remember in six months' time. The shocking twist was predictable and the story a little mundane. It is not awful by any stretch but in my humble opinion, it is as unforgettable and shocking as all the other reviews lead you to believe.

Thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for sending me this in exchange for an open and honest review.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to preview The Affair by Sheryl Browne. A woman has an affair, and thinks that it is really over. That's until the man she thought had been a after thought now is back. She must face her secrets and lies and do that while not losing everything she now has...
3 stars.

Thanks to netgalley for the ARC of this entertaining book. I couldn't relate to the anguishes of the main character, as I was the victim of an affair before, and really doesn't have any sympathy with the poor "other" woman, but this was still a good read, and recommended for anyone who loves Ms Browne's writing.

Alicia is married to Justin and they have two children, a teenage daughter, Sophie, and a newborn son, Lucas. A terrible tragedy occurs and Justin starts to suspect that Alicia has been unfaithful .As Alicia tries to keep her family together by telling more lies it starts taking a toll on their relationship and on the kids as well. Will they be able to save their marriage or will the lies and deceit finally catch up and destroy everything that Alicia tried so hard to build?

The Affair by Sheryl Browne is a  very quick read with a few twists along the way.Told in different POVs it's easy to follow and more of domestic suspense than a psychological thriller.Overall an entertaining read

I would like to thank Bookouture & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review

An intriguing story about Alicia, who has been keeping a secret for almost seventeen years. After an accident the truth emerges. The Affair is a gripping psychological thriller, full of twists & turns.

This book was just meh for me. The storyline revolves around Alicia and Justin after the death of their baby due to a car accident. When their other daughter goes "missing"--which readers are privy to her whereabouts and thoughts the whole time, so there's no element of mystery there--Justin discovers Alicia had an affair...and that's pretty much the entire story.

No shockers. No twists. It was a slow read for me, lacking the prose ingenuity or creativity that I usually need to get through a slow-unraveling drama like this. When there isn't a mystery to keep me hooked, I need powerful prose to engage me, or interesting characters to keep me hooked. This had none of the above, so I had a hard time making it to the end or really connecting with any character.

While it wasn't my taste in books, if you enjoy an easy-to-read family drama, this might be one you'll enjoy.

I am sorry for not reviewing fully but I don’t have the time to read this anymore. I believe that it wouldn't benefit you as a publisher or your book if I only skimmed it and wrote a rushed review. Again, I am sorry for not fully reviewing!

This was an ok thriller. I did read it to the end however I think that there are a lot better books out there to be read.

This book was amazing from beginning to end. An addictive, intriguing book that will have you feeling many different emotions, from shock, to bewilderment, to frustration, to sadness to heartbreak and everything in between. I loved the roller coaster of a ride this book takes you on, to be sure to sit down and hold on tight – you’re about to go on one wild ride!

This poor family cannot seem to catch a break! Their lives as they know it is about to suddenly change, and they won’t see any of it coming. I enjoyed both main characters, husband and wife Alicia and Justin. They seemed like the most loving, caring couple and I really enjoyed reading about them and their family. They have two children, a teenage daughter and a newborn son. They are faced with a tragedy that will shock you and have you gaping as you read along.

Without giving too much away this is a book that you need to read…like now!

I really enjoyed reading about Justin’s character and I couldn’t help but feel so sorry for him many times throughout the book. He truly and dearly loves his little family and would do anything for them. In the face of adversity and heartache, everyone in this story deals with the tragic loss and heartache in their own way. Secrets and lies are revealed, and this only adds to the heartache and despair of the novel.

Overall a wonderful read that you have to get your hands on today!

Though I enjoyed the character development and the plot of this story, I felt that it was quite predictable. I would certainly like to check out more from this author in the future, though.

Gut wrenching emotional read

I did not expect this book to be such an emotional story. As the book opens an unimaginable tragedy occurs leaving me sympathizing with the main characters. As the title suggests an affair has taken place, but I soon started questioning the specifics behind it. It was a fast read as the drama unfolds and you wonder what really happened to this family and can they survive as a family unit.

This was my first Sheryl Browne book and certainly won't be my last. Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC.
