If you're a fan of Ellie Kemper from "The Office" or "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," you'll love her uplifting and hilarious memoir, "My Squirrel Days."

"My Squirrel Days" is not your average Hollywood memoir. It's more of a collection of amusing and occasionally cringe-worthy stories that reveal Ellie Kemper's quirky, down-to-earth personality. She takes us on a journey through her life, from her small-town roots to the bright lights of Hollywood, and it's impossible not to hang on her every word.

Ellie's writing style is a charming combination of wit and sincerity. She seamlessly moves from discussing uncomfortable teenage interactions to the ups and downs of making it in the world of comedy. Her witty observations and self-deprecating humor will have you laughing one minute and nodding in sympathy the next. Kemper is a celebrity who doesn't take herself too seriously and accepts her unique characteristics and flaws.

Ellie Kemper's memoir is like a warm and reassuring hug in a world that may sometimes feel overwhelming. So, grab a copy of "My Squirrel Days," sink into your favorite reading spot, and prepare for a rollercoaster of fun, nostalgia, and squirrel-filled adventures. Trust me, you won't be sorry.

Thank you to NetGalley and Scribner for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Ellie Kemper is fun, but her writing is a little more simplistic than her peers (Mindy Kaling, Tina Fey, Chelsea Handler, etc) which made this memoir a bit less engaging. It's easier to understand Kemper's humor on-screen than it is on the page.

I've loved Ellie Kemper since her days at The Office, but I think she should stick to acting. I understand that she's a bit spastic and nerdy and that's her schtick, but her life isn't all that interesting. Not every memoir has to be all heartache and woe-is-me, but she had no woes; this felt like just fluff. Her charm was lost in print and her comedic timing felt forced, like she was trying too hard to be funny. Not her best work.

I'm a fan of Ellie Kemper. This was a fun read. Not one of my favorites but definitely enjoyable. Give it a try.

Like most people, I first feel in love with Ellie Kemper when she played Erin on The Office. Ellie was able to carry over the cute, loveable character to Kimmy Schmidt and now she’s introducing us all to the real Ellie! Not only is she a great actor but she is also a very talented author and storyteller. Her hilarious stories had me cry laughing so much that I scared my daughter. I will recommend this book time and time again when someone is looking for an easy, enjoyable read.

This was a fun and quirky book of essays. I did end up getting the audiobook, which I think made me enjoy it more, because she has a great storytelling voice, which definitely adds another layer to the book. The stories were a fun mix of her regular life and her show business life, and she struck a good balance.

Thank you to NetGalley and Scribner for the review copy.

Ellie Kemper is a great actress. I've loved her since The Office. She's quirky, funny, and adorable. Even though this book was that long (thank god) there just wasn't much substance for me. Funny on screen, not translating to paper very well.

Ellie Kemper was her slightly annoying but fun-loving happy-go-lucky self. She's a bit wacky but it's all in good fun. I read this and also listened to the audiobook since I've had the ARC for awhile and the book has been published. I still haven't watched Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. It's on the list. But The Office is one of my all-time favorite shows and adding Ellie as Erin.

I loved!
It is not the typical memoir that is monotonous. This is super funny and contains stories that are so, but also have a kind of moral.
It's been a long time since I read an autobiography that I enjoyed so much.
Also, I could see a lot of Ellie, as we see her on TV and in the movies, but more real.
Oh! And since this book is written in an essay way. It is much easier to read it!

"My Squirrel Days" is a wonderfully enjoyable memoir by Ellie Kemper. The stories Kemper tells paint a vivid picture of who she is, a thoroughly charming person who I wish I could be friends with.

I was given this book by Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I only knew Ellie Kemper from Bridesmaids, never having seen her in The Office or The Unstoppable Kimmy Schmidt. However, the book had "squirrel" in the title, and I loved Bridesmaids, so I gave it a try.

She is hilarious. I actually laughed out loud multiple times, usually taken surprise so that it was a bark laugh, which can be embarrassing, but isn't because I have little shame.

My only complaint is... Did she get paid by Ford to repeatedly reference her charcoal Ford Fusion?

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

This felt like it was written by the character of Kimmy Schmidt. She has a unique writing style and brand of humor that I appreciated, but the book as a whole felt kind of... pointless?

Ellie Kemper has always captivated and entertained me on screen, and her book is no exception! I laughed so hard reading this book, and I can’t wait to recommend that anyone and everyone, whether they’re a fan of Ellie’s or not, read it.

I loved the Office, though admittedly haven’t watched Kimmy Schmidt, but I was still excited to get an early copy of this book. Ellie’s writing / sense of humor was very similar to her character on the Office: a little quirky, dry, and self-deprecating. I liked it, but didn’t love it. Those who are big Kimmy Schmidt fans would probably really enjoy it though!

I am sorry for the inconvenience, but I don't have the time to read this book anymore and have lost interest in the concept. I believe that it would benefit your book more if I did not skim your book and write a rushed review. Again, I am sorry for the inconvenience.

I don't know much about Ellie Kemper so I'm not entirely sure why I requested this memoir but it was surprisingly interesting. It's a definitely enjoyable and entertaining read and I enjoyed finding out more about her.

My Squirrel Days by Ellie Kemper was an absolute treat to read. She has such a hilarious sense of humor that I found myself laughing many times while reading her book. Something that sets this biography apart is the amazing ability that Kemper has to laugh at herself, and in turn make you laugh. I enjoyed her book so much I also got the audio book and it was even better being read by the author. If you are a fan of Kemper in any of her Acting roles you will get a behind the scenes look at what it was like working on those roles. I would definitely recommend. 5/5 stars.

I’m going n back and forth between 2.5-3 stars

I’m a big fan of Ellie keepers characters and like most, I first found out about her via the BEST SHOW EVER, The Office. She completely won me over with her acting and the quirkiness she brings to each character she portrays.

Her storytelling.....I just couldn’t connect.

I received this months ago from NetGalley and I just kept putting it down. I couldn’t connect to her story. I’m sure this is just personal preference and for other who are more interested in behind the scenes of improv and acting, this would be a GREAT read.

What I did like, is that as you are reading this, it’s like she’s talking to you and only you. In many chapters she makes a point to talk to her “reader”. I also really liked seeing her perseverance to become the actress she is today.

I've been a fan of Kemper's since her "Office" days, but I was a little torn about this book. It's hard to classify - not really enough grit or substance for a memoir, but maybe could be viewed as more of a collection of humor essays. The chapters jump around from Kemper's school days to her improv start in comedy to her performances in "Bridesmaids" and "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt." I liked getting a look at different areas of her life, but it felt way too scrambled to keep jumping back and forth to different time periods. I would have loved a more straightforward progression through her life. Of course, Kemper is very funny but I don't think her self-deprecation and bubbling energy really come through successfully in this. I'll still be a fan, but I probably wouldn't seek out any future books from her.
