Anyone know a locksmith who can put 2385869483 locks on my door like....now?

Oh my goodness - what a book! I actually think that 'He Will Find You' might just be the fastest full length novel I have ever read. No joke. This bad boy was started and finished within about 2.5 hours - I just couldn't put it down. What would happen to Kaitlyn if I did? I know, this is fiction, but after losing myself in Kaitlyn's story and investing myself in her emotions, the line between reality and fiction was pretty much non-existent. As far as I was concerned, Alex was going to be knocking on my door any moment. He wasn't....clearly! Most people end up regretting a one night stand and Kaitlyn is just another person to add to that list as, after her one night stand, she finds out she's pregnant and does what she thinks is the right thing. She moves in with her one night stand, Alex.

I couldn't help but feel off about the whole Alex situation from the very beginning, I just couldn't put my finger on why. Some people may say that Alex seems to good to be true, yet I felt that he was hiding a lot more than he was letting on.

'He Will Find You' is such a rollercoaster ride of a read which gripped me from the very start. Kaitlyn's life was rather difficult and uncomfortable to read at times, yet that created a much higher level of suspense and intensity, pulling me into the hard-hitting situations a lot quicker than I had anticipated.

Despite becoming extremely nervous and very uncomfortable, I couldn't stop reading and I thought that Diane Jeffrey did an incredible job at creating characters who were both highly unlikeable, and highly likeable. Putting domestic abuse at the forefront of a storyline, in my opinion, is a very brave move as every single human being has an opinion on the subject whether they're involved or not. I would like to think that readers will side with the victim in this instance and not to what society seems good at at the moment by victim shaming, but I would be very intrigued to see why anyone, if any, would side with the culprit. I am being very vague with my review as there is a lot of scenes in the storyline with twist in with various others, however, I knew very early on which side I was on.

'He Will Find You' is such a gripping, dark, twisted, and highly uncomfortable read which highlights Diane Jeffrey's outstanding story telling in the way that it deserves - outstandingly. If you fancy a read which will leave you needing an oxygen mask and questioning your personal information, I cannot recommend this book enough.

I have a confession to make. This is slowly becoming a habit. Although I have Diane’s first book ‘Those Who Lie’ on my mountainous ‘To Be Read’ pile, I haven’t actually read it yet. Sorry Diane. I love discovering new authors and I eagerly dived into ‘He Will Find You’. Blinking Nora it was certainly a read and a half. I absolutely loved it but more about that in a bit.
It took me a little while to warm to Kaitlyn. I can’t put my finger on why that is because it’s not as if she did anything to upset me. I got that she wanted to live a happy life and that she thought that she would find happiness with Alex. For goodness sake, she hadn’t known him long before she left her old life behind to move in with Alex. She was certainly naïve and accepted Alex at face value. Of course the fact that she found herself to be pregnant after a one night stand with Alex complicates things ever so slightly. As for Alex well I wouldn’t trust him as far as I could throw him. He appears nice, kind and gentle but he sometimes lets his mask slip and he ends up showing his true personality. He is loving and attentive on the surface but he struck me as a control freak.
Every so often a book comes along that grabs me by the throat (well not literally because that would be weird) and keeps my attention throughout the story. I couldn’t believe how good this book was. The story hit the ground running and maintains the pace throughout. It didn’t take me long at all to get into this book. I had my own suspicions about certain characters and what would happen in their story and I was keen to read on and on to see if I would be proved right or not. In some respects I was right but in others I wasn’t. I became completely absorbed in the book and reading it became a serious addiction. The more I read, the more I got into the book and the quicker the pages were turning. Before I knew what was happening I got to the end of the book. I had mixed feelings about finishing the book. Don’t get me wrong I was pleased to finish because I knew how the story ended but I was enjoying the author’s writing style, the story and the characters so much that I just wanted the book to continue. Reading this book was much like being on a very scary and unpredictable rollercoaster ride with no idea of where you are going to end up and with more than one surprise along the way. There were more twists and turns in this book than you would find on a ‘Snakes & Ladders’ board. The tension level in this book tootles along at a gentle pace but after a while the tension gradually increases and builds before ending with a tense and dramatic conclusion.
To conclude, I really, really enjoyed reading ‘He Will Find You’ and I definitely recommend that you read it. Fans of psychological thrillers will particularly enjoy it. I can’t wait to read what comes next from Diane Jeffrey but in the meantime I will definitely be reading her first book. The score on the Ginger Book Geek is a well deserved 5* out of 5*.

The second book I already have a review of on my blog is for He Will Find You by Diane Jeffrey which is her latest thriller! I was able join the blog tour for this book and I was very excited to start it as I really liked her debut novel, Those Who Lie. Despite receiving an e-arc of this book I actually listened to it as an audiobook on BookBeat while on holiday so I listened to it on the train and while on German autobahns!

We follow Kaitlyn as she travels across the country to live with her school crush and the father of her one night stand, Alex. Moving away from her friends, her job and distanced from her family as she has had to move to the Lake District, she becomes more dependant on Alex and she discovers that he isn't what he seems. Kaitlyn uncovers dark secrets and an even darker side to her new husband that she didn't know existed.

I liked the narrator of the audiobook and it was a fairly quick and very easy to follow audiobook. I do love thrillers and this one was definitely compelling, interesting and I wanted to find out what would happen to Kaitlyn. I only had one negative about this book and that was some of Kaitlyn's decisions and thoughts which were sometimes complete rational and intelligent but most of the time they were ridiculous and I couldn't understand why she was acting or thinking the way she was which did pull me out of the story and made it seem quite unbelievable, if I'm honest. However, I would recommend it as a quick, easy and compelling thriller.

He Will Find You is a psychological thriller that I knew from the start I was going to like even if I second guessed what was going to happen throughout the book it still held my attention and this is down to the great writing.
Kaitlyn has contacted an old friend she knew from her boarding school days via Facebook and this leads to her and Alex exchanging long and frequent messages. Alex comes across charming and perfect so Kaitlyn agrees to meet up with him this leads to a one night stand leaving her pregnant but Alex is delighted and wants to marry her and gets her to move miles away from where she lives to his house in the Lake District. After a while it becomes clear Alex is not the man she thought he was as he becomes very controlling over her life. As she settles into life in the old rectory it becomes clear that Alex has built their relationship on lies.
This was a great read that I enjoyed and found it very easy to read and the story flowed well with no real slow parts for me, there were some likeable characters and some not so likeable which gave it a good balance for me.
I would like to thank Netgalley and HQ Digital for this ARC I received in exchange for an honest review.

I read "He will find you"courtesy of Netgalley and even though I had not read anything by Diane Jeffrey before now, i found I was utterly hooked from the first chapter of this novel! It's an easy read, not too many over complicated words or stories going on. Just one good, easy to follow storyline throughout that the average middle aged woman could probably relate to. A great twist I did not see coming as with all phsycological thrillers. I would definitely read more titles by this Author!

This is a book I found myself drawn into very quickly. It quite literally had me hooked from the first chapter. Straight away in the beginning chapters you get this tense, un-easy feeling that all is not quite right with Alex. There is something lurking beneath his seemingly sweet and charming persona.

I felt like I was reading this book sat on the edge of my seat, nervous as anything for what might happen to Kaitlyn. Half of me was shouting at Kaitlyn to get out as quickly as she can and the other half of me was angry as anything with Alex for his manipulative ways.

I thought the authors writing in this book was mesmerising. I really felt the emotions of Kaitlyn and genuinely felt her pain, anxiety and terror. I think what endeared me to Kaitlyn so much is that she is just an average woman. She could be anyone; your mother, your sister, your best friend.

I liked this book more than I expected. I was starting to get concerned that I had read too many abusive husband novels lately and this one would fall flat, but it actually held my interest. I think the author's writing style was to my liking. I found it very readable, which allowed me to read it quickly. Toward the end I was starting to fear that I was really just dealing with a story and there would be no twists and turns but luckily, there did end up being a pretty surprising twist at the end, which I appreciated. I would probably read more from this author.

Kaitlyn is bored. She feels stuck in a rut so when she sees someone she used to know on Facebook she sends a friend request to Alex. Before she knows it her life has changed, after one night with Alex she finds herself pregnant & he is keen for her to join him in the Lake District & to get married.

But how well does she know Alex? Why is he so secretive? Separated from her family she finds herself ever more isolated and controlled. This was not what she had expected and as time goes on she becomes frightened of the man she's married.

This was a good read.Kaitlyn & her family were engaging characters and although I guessed most of the twists it was still a ery enjoyable read.

Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for letting me read & review this book.

He Will Find You by Diane Jeffrey is a marvelous, heart stopping contemporary psychological thriller that will grip you from the start. I read with pulse rapidly rising, fearful of what lurked behind closed doors.
The characters were well drawn. There was more than a hint of menace behind a polished exterior. I questioned who was the face behind the mask? Could I trust what I saw? Or was I going crazy? I 'lived' the action with myself in the lead role. Who could I trust? Suspicion hid behind every corner.
Family is important. They support you but sometimes they mess you up. Your early years will make or break you.
Your new best friend? Or your new bitter enemy? You decide.
A major theme is that of abuse. Abuse takes many forms - mental anguish can be just as painful as physical abuse especially when no one believes you - and you begin to doubt yourself.
How far will you go to protect your child? A mother's love knows no boundaries.
He Will Find You is a creepy, compelling, compulsive read. The landscape mirrors the action. A brilliant novel - but don't read it alone.
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.

MoMo’s Book Diary recommends this intriguing 5 star thriller.

After reading Diane Jeffrey’s debut thriller Those Who Lie I couldn’t wait to read He Will Find You. I was not disappointed.

This domestic thriller had me gripped from the start. The author expertly weaves the clues throughout the story. I was reading whilst my brain was trying to work out what was really going on. I could not read fast enough and it was clear from the first few pages that I would not be getting anything else done until I had reached the end of this book.

This is a fantastically edgy read with richly developed characters. I felt very connected to the characters and enjoyed the way in which the author wove the tale around both locations, Somerset and the Lake District. It will keep you on a white knuckle ride right to the end – and beyond!

Thanks to NetGalley, HQ Digital and Diane Jeffrey for the opportunity to read and review this five star psychological thriller.

This book is what perfect psychological thrillers are made of!
I often find with a new book, it takes a while to get into the story, but I was captured immediately. The writing style was fluid which made it easy to read, with no constant switches in the story interrupting the flow. The twists and turns of the plot were a continual surprise, which made the story really exciting. I was amazed how every time I thought the story was drawing to a close, there was one more twist, and then another and another....
I didn't quite follow why the ending had to happen that way, but nonetheless, it made a great twist to finish on.

A real edge of the seat thriller, I couldn't put it down - lots of surprises, twists and turns and a gripping end. A fantastic example of this genre. Loved this book, can't wait to read more from this author!

The first thing I will say about this book is that I had to suspend disbelief a little too much for my liking, and whilst the beginning few chapters of the book were believable and built suspense, the latter chapters were pretty far-fetched. Anything too far-fetched for me and at odds with a likely reality means I don’t really enjoy a book. I was quite disappointed by the ending here, but I enjoyed the writing style therefore I persevered.

The premise here is that Kaitlyn meets an old school friend on Facebook after finding each other on Facebook, and what quickly develops is a relationship and a pregnancy. Kaitlyn moves North to live with her new partner, but very quickly she discovers some concerning aspects of his personality and she begins to have regrets. I think the plot is fairly predictable from the plot summary.

Diane Jeffrey was born and raised in North Devon, UK, but now lives in Lyon, France with her family. Her debut psychological thriller "Those Who Lie", was a Kindle bestseller in the USA, Canada and Australia and in the top 100 Kindle books in the UK. She is an English teacher and enjoys both reading and writing as well chocolate, beer and holidays! Her books are perfect for those who enjoy Sandie Jones and BA Paris.

"He Will Find You" is Jeffrey's second novel set in the Lake District and Somerset and the beautiful settings are one of the things that attracted me to this book, especially the Lake District locations as I live close to Cumbria just over the border in Northumberland. If i'm honest, it took me a while to get into the story but once I was I enjoyed it immensely. You are always on red alert as you cannot completely trust any of the characters and their development was excellent. Alex is a particularly evil individual and when his wife realises he is hiding a multitude of secrets from her she asks him to tell her the truth. Having denied her she resolves to find them out for herself.

Thrilling and well paced, this is a great domestic thriller that becomes increasingly dark as time goes on. I am glad I stuck with it so if you find you're not loving it as much as predicted, keep reading a little longer as it becomes more suspenseful in the second half. The denouement was a satisfying and fitting conclusion to the story.

Many thank to HQ Digital for an ARC. I was not required to post a review and all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
