Book 2
Spoilers...
Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy of this crazy incredible book! CREEPY throughout!
The character building was amazing. I felt like I really knew the back story for Susannah and Max (Phil) and Max W. Creepy and dark. Twists I never saw coming! AND the twists just kept coming all the way to the end! I couldn’t put this book down! I was hooked from the very first page.
I wasn’t sure how the end was going to turn out but my train of thought was way off! It was quick and painless. Well maybe not for everyone!
4 ⭐️’s !

Wow... that was a twisty ass story to the max!!
The Perfect Liar by Thomas Christopher Greene is a fast paced, dysfunctional, and gripping story that will leave your mind blown (insert emoji here ;)
You know how you start reading a story and have the theory all lined up in that perfect brain of yours... and that moment the author steers you clearly wrong? Well.. that was me in this multiple times.
I read this story in a day my friends! That tells you something.... and the writing is plain addicting. Greene sure knows how to hook his readers... because it was simply unputdownable.
In my opinion, it's best to go into this story blind. If you love unpredictable characters, intense moments, and jaw dropping conclusions then this story is definitely for you!
Huge thank you to St. Martins Press and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this arc in exchange for my honest thoughts.
4.5 liar stars!
Publication date: 1/15/19
Published to GR: 11/6/18

I feel like I read a different book from everyone else!
If I said that I enjoyed anything about this book, then I would be “The Perfect Liar”!
The chapters were long and never ending.
The characters were all unlikable.
The writing was VULGAR!
And, the reveal of “WHO” left the note, (and why now?) pretty anticlimactic.
Honestly, I could not wait for this book to end!
First time reading this author...apparently I am not the right audience for his work.
Thank You to Netgalley, St. Martin’s Press, and Thomas Christopher Greene for the ARC I was provided in exchange for an CANDID review! If you are a fan, pick this up on Jan 15th, 2019.

This book felt very choppy to me and did not flow well. I think the overall story line was good but it felt rushed.

Right off the bat, I can tell you one thing that I loved about The Perfect Liar by Thomas Christopher Greene, is that the book copy did not give away everything before I even cracked the cover. Was it interesting? Did it entice me to pick up the book? Yes and yes. But, only about three chapters in I was thrown for a twist. It was amazing. Usually I feel like the first couple of twists are alluded to or given away and I so appreciate that they did not do that this time.
Of course, now I must also work very hard to tell you first of all to definitely pick up a copy of The Perfect Liar, without telling you too many details on why that would be a good move. I can tell you that both Max and Susannah are richly imagined and multi-faceted characters. They take turns narrating the book and both have kept secrets.
I can tell you that things will happen that you don't suspect, but that you will find very believable and these things will leave you feeling very satisfied that Greene has written a good, sound and solid thriller that you thoroughly enjoy reading. This one is out January 15--pick it up and start 2019 off with a great read!
Special thanks to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for an advanced e-galley in exchange for my honest review. This review will be publishing on my blog, Women in Trouble Book Blog on December 18, 2018.

This is another book with unreliable narrators. Who is lying? It seems like Susannah and Max have the perfect marriage. They are in love and have amazing chemistry, and Max loves her son from her previous marriage. But when Susannah finds a note taped to their front door "I KNOW WHO YOU ARE" things start to spiral out of control for the couple. Who sent the note?
This book has a lot of twists and lies are abundant. There are definitely some creepy back stories for this couple and everything is not how it seems. It is creepy and twisted... you can't trust anyone!

This was a fantastic book and such a quick read. So many twist and turns. It was fun to try to figure out who was lying and who was telling the truth. I was a huge fan of Greene's previous book, The Headmaster's Wife. I love the setting of college/prep school campuses in both books. Cannot wait to read his other books. Thank you for the advanced reader copy.

All consuming and wonderfully crafted story!
I was hooked from the beginning and it just became more intense as the the author laid out all the clues that would lead to the haunting conclusion.
The more I read, the more invested I was in the characters and it just became unputdownable at some point. The kind of addictive writing that causes you to stay up past your bedtime!
There are anonymous notes, like ticking time bombs, were left on the door of the happily married couple- Susannah and Max. One sentence notes that sent chills down their spines and gave me a sense of fear . So many questions! Who is sending them? This will cause someone to make some calculated and shocking decisions. He actually did it!!! I was shocked (more than once).
This was has some intense and unexpected moments. Don't miss it if you enjoy unpredicatble thrillers.

This is a well written suspense novel, full of twisty turns and beautiful descriptions of the main settings in the book, Vermont and New York City. Max is able to elaborately turn his backstory into a realistic sounding resume of "poor boy makes good", and indeed has the skill as a speaker that makes you wonder if you would have made it without his faked credentials. Susannah, on the other hand, has what appears to be a straight forward background, albeit some alluded to twisty trauma that causes her to experience panic attacks. Despite their lies to each other, and to the world, the couple and their disengaged son, Freddy, appear to have the resilience to bounce back from the near tragic consequences of their actions. Until they don't. I would love to see a movie version of The Perfect Liar!

I really liked this book. It definitely kept my interest and the characters constantly had me second-guessing. I had a hard time following through some of the different plot lines and how they switched almost sporadically throughout the story, but it was definitely a good read!

This was an entertaining read for me. It was mystery/thriller that was a bit unrealistic, but that didn't bother me any. The chapters are nice and short, which make it a quick read. The characters are likable, despite their shortcomings. I found it simply an enjoyable book that I couldn't put down. It's an easy read that leaves you wondering.
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

THE PERFECT LIAR is a perfect, twisty thriller that I had a difficult time putting down.
Susannah is on her second marriage to Max, an artist. They are living a great, successful life along with her teen aged son, Freddy, from her first marriage. Then one morning, Susannah finds a note on the front door of their beautiful Vermont home, stating I KNOW WHO YOU ARE.
From there, the book delves into the pasts of Max and Susannah, and back to the present as they each try to determine what the note is referring to. The truth is a twist of lies, betrayal, and murder, and the ride is a lot of fun.
I loved this book, and did not want it to end. it caught me off guard at least 2-3 times, and was very suspenseful. This is the first novel I've read by the author, but I highly recommend to fans of thrillers and unexpected twists.

A dark, twisty, complicated story about a couple who lie to the outside world, to each other, and even to themselves. It starts with young Max crashing an exclusive party full of the most important people of the New York art world. He meets Susannah there and immediately becomes obsessed with her. Max seems to be perfect: a tender, passionate lover, a kind and patient husband, even a tolerant, understanding stepfather to Susannah's teen-aged son.
Gradually, as Max's story is revealed, we learn that his whole life is a lie. And he will do anything, absolutely anything, to keep the truth of his past hidden. As Max becomes successful, financially and socially, he revels in his ability to deceive everyone around him. He has enough self-awareness to laugh at himself a little, to remember not to "believe his own bullshit". He's proud to consider himself a "perfect liar".
But he isn't the only liar in the family.

A good book. Interesting. Good story. Good characters. I can’t understand why, but I’m just left wanting a little more at the end of this though. The book is just missing something that I can’t put my finger on. But all in all a good read.

The Perfecr Liar had me from the first page! Greene expertly weaves the story with the flashbacks and manages the dual character storyline seamlessly. I love a book that keeps me on my toes and this is one of the best I’ve recently encountered.

I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley.
Twists and turns and surprises - oh, my! Lies abound in this psychological thriller. Both Max and Susannah lie to each other and the world. The lies have consequences for both of them and Susannah's son. But, the reader wonders about the identity of the better liar - or as the title suggests - "the perfect liar."

What a great read. This is the first I read by this author and I’m hooked. I’ll need to go back and read her other work. This book is full of plot twists and turns galore. Definitely up all night, can’t put down kind of read. Thank you Netgalley.

Amazing! Started reading and couldn't stop until the last word. Loved every twist and turn. Found myself loving even the unlovable characters. Great story, look forward to more by this author.

This book was a steady stream of information that drew you closer and closer to the conclusion. The characters were not likable or reliable, so some details were fun to figure out. Overall, the twists were not all that unexpected and the ending was pretty predictable. It was a fun, quick read and I did enjoy it.
