This novel is about two Irish friends called Maddy and Leanne who decide to have a touring summer holiday away from their homeland sight-seeing the gorgeous scenery along Italy’s picturesque Adriatic coastline. They are travelling in their own car and have their miniature poodle called Bridget along with them. They make friends along the way who persuade them to join in on a sailing trip to see Croatia’s spectacular Dalmatian islands. This is an offer too good to resist and the scene is set for a holiday filled with sizzling sunshine, turquoise seas to swim in, and lots of fun and new friendships, not forgetting sparkling, steamy romances. What’s not to like? Life is good and the girls are happy.
This is a perfect holiday read for lazy sunny days on the beach or basking in the sunshine of your garden. There’s plenty of fun and laughs but this well told, feel-good story also carries an important massage; live life to the full and enjoy yourself while you can. Maddy and Leanne are two fascinating characters. Their holiday is a huge contrast to their every-day lives. Leanne is in her thirties and still living at home with her Mum while Maddy is newly separated from her distant husband. But their stories are about to change massively, there will be no routines to follow and romance is in the air. This is going to be the holiday of a lifetime and it will also change their lives forever.
I received this novel through my membership of NetGalley and from publisher Bookouture in return for an honest review. Thank you for my copy which I found very entertaining. It’s a 3.5* review from me.

A continuation of the road trip taken by the girls Maddie and Leanne, this had boats and sailing in it. You got to read the previous book to know and love the characters and Bridget.

The author Susanne O'Leary has continued the travel from Ireland to Italy, to driving the red Mercedes convertible to sailing around Dalmatian Islands, while stopping at the various villages for sightseeing and food. (food and wine has been described gorgeously in this book).

This was not only a journey to places but a journey to understanding their inner selves. Both Maddy and Leanne had to take some tough decisions, though this book concentrated more on Leanne and her love life.

The story from the beginning Maddie and Leanne won the lotto, decided to leave their old life for a dream vacation the whole of summer, took a road trip, met up old love, old dad, new loves, and started blog and social media (which are instant hits). They decided to go sailing to Dalmatian Islands with this book. There were a lot of capers and additional characters, with a dog-knapping, jealous old flames, lying new flame, director turned politician, runaway wife and unexpected loves.

Maddie and Leanne's friendship continued on along with their blog posts. This had humorous moments but not the LOL kinds. Overall a good read.

A Holiday To Remember features Leanne and Maddy who we are introduced to in the authors previous book, The Road Trip. I haven't actually read The Road Trip and whilst this read fairly well as a stand alone, I would probably recommend reading in order.

The story has so many things that appealed to me. Friendship, travel, romance and I loved the blog aspect of the story line having a book blog myself. What a better way to see the world than to go with your best friend. You know the saying that friends know all your best stories but a best friend has lived them with you? Well this is so true when it comes to this story.

The places that Leanne and Maddy get to go I sadly haven't had the opportunity to visit myself but it is very much brought to life in this book. The colours, sounds and smells, just leapt from the page into my mind, transporting me there. It felt like I was there alongside the characters sharing the experience with them.

A Holiday To Remember really is a feel good read which will make you pull up your big girl pants, grab your bestie and go and have some fun. The ideal book to accompany you on your holiday or if you need a pick me up as it certainly is a fun and entertaining read.

I haven't read the first book and I don't think it was essential but maybe would have been nice to.

This was entertaining enough but for me personally it was missing some zing. There was a lot going on for sure with many characters all with their own storylines happening. The characters were all so different and I did like the locations and all about the food. I was expecting it to be funnier.

This is the direct sequel to The Road Trip, and I really would recommend you read that first partly so that you don't miss out on a fabulous book, and so that you have the full picture

Couldn't wait to read the follow on book and the adventures of Leanne and Maddy and it didn't disappoint at all. A delightful read and full of adventure and romance while being heartwarming and uplifting. It's funny in places to and shows all about friendship a great read from the first page.
Maddy and Leanne continue there adventure after winning the lottery and going off in sports car they now head off to Italy and they sail around Croatia's beautful Dalmatian islands. They make new friends and romances and holiday flings there is plenty to thing of and plenty of drama. This trip is meant to be a holiday to remember and is it one where they find happiness and can they move forward and be happy and can they enjoy there holiday.
Wonderful read and didn't want it to end simply brilliant.

This is the follow on from The Road Trip by Susanne O'Leary and even though I'm glad I read the first one before this one, you can easily read this as a standalone. You don't need to read The Road Trip beforehand as Susanne O'Leary explains everything that happened before so it's so easy to catch up and understand what's going on and who each of the characters are.

As with the first one in this series, I love the cover and I was instantly attracted to it. I love the pink and yellow sunset, the beautiful sea with the hills and islands, and the cute balcony with the pool overlooking it all. It's beautiful and so summery. It certainly looks the part, but does it live up to the first? I believe that it does, I adore all the sightseeing the two women do, I love all the food they try, the wine they drink, the sailing and the swimming - it's all so summery and to be honest it made me want to do exactly the same! Of course - it would be better with a bit of money!

The story follows on with main characters Maddy and Leanne. With the first one in the series, it focused more on Maddy and her life with a bit of Leanne chucked in here and there. With this one, it's more like the opposite, we focus more on what Leanne's going through but we still do hear about how Maddy's getting on too. It's nice to catch up with them both again and to visit the new and exciting places that they decide to visit.

There's a lot more drama in this one than in the last I feel, especially with Claudia and her baggage and with Carlo, Lucilla and Leanne! There's trouble brewing at every corner for them all and it's just a great read. It's a great way to spend a few hours, getting lost amongst the pages. I loved this novel and I hope there's another one because I'm not ready for this adventure to end! Thank you to the publisher for a chance to read this novel, which I have reviewed honestly.

I really wish I was still reading this book, I was thoroughly enjoying the continuation of Maddie and Leanne's holiday, and that I was still accompanying them on their trip. Instead I am left with a book that was a joy to read and I suppose I had to run out of pages at some point, at the rate I was devouring them.

This is the direct sequel to The Road Trip, and I really would recommend you read that first partly so that you don't miss out on a fabulous book, and so that you have the full picture as to these characters pasts, and their current circumstances.

This time Leanne is seen more as the main character, as most of the focus is on her, and it was lovely to get to know her better. She is misguided when it comes to men, but spending a trip around the Dalmatian Islands with an interesting set of people could be the making of her.

Along with the girls on this boat trip, are two me, one tricky ex, an older relative that seems to be hiding something, and of course Bridget the dog too. There is plenty of drama and equal amounts of laughs in this fabulously summery book.

All the locations in Italy and Croatia were exquisitely described and gave a real sense of the locations, the food, the atmosphere, the friendliness of the locals. was all really vivid and brought back memorie of the odd day I have spent in the area myself.

A Holiday to Remember is exactly that, its perfect for these hot summer days or when you want to relive a holiday of your own. A pure joy to read, I would recommend it to everyone that enjoyed romantic comedies set in fabulous locations.

Thank you to Bookouture and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
