This one had a haunting premise and strong Southern noir vibes, but I struggled with the pacing and didn’t connect with the storytelling style. It’s atmospheric, but it wasn’t for me. Readers who love literary thrillers and darker coming-of-age stories might fare better.
Grateful to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC, even if I didn’t finish.
