Beautiful contrasting artworks and a great story to go with it all. I'll definitely be recommending this one to people.

Lightness is a translation of Catherine Meurisse's 'La légèreté'. Originally published in French, this graphic memoir is a poignant and stunning account of Meurisse's encounter with the terrorist attack in the Charlie Hebdo offices in 2015.

Meurisse is brutally honest yet darkly humorous in her telling of her experience and weaves in beautiful philosophy and poetry.

Lightness is magnificently illustrated (by Meurisse herself) and each page goes beyond the words; I strongly recommend taking the time to take in all the intricate details.

The best way to enjoy Lightness is to become acquainted with it yourself - I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Europe Comics for providing a copy of this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
