I really love this author's writing style. Each of the characters in her books have such personality! Winter Snow Fun is about these friends enjoying the Winter season together. They wait and wait for snow and finally it snows! The work together to enjoy the snowy fun! This is a great book in a series that makes learning about seasons so fun! I am a homeschool mom and I will recommend these books to parents with preschool and elementary age kids because this is such an excellent way to learn about friendship and winter!

This is a fun little story about a group of animal friends who discover the different ways to have fun together on a snowy day. The book models good examples of friendship, kindness, and using your creativity to find fun ways to play even when your ideal plan is not an option. The illustrations are not overly complicated and use subtle details to convey emotions.

I have said it earlier with it still holding true after reading Winter Snow Fun (God Gives Us Friends When We’re Ready for Adventure) that this is an ideal friends series that takes place during the seasons of the year. Friends are always included no matter their personality or abilities; the meek and mild like mouse, the downbeat like skunk and the strong leader like raccoon.

Always writer Wendy Dunham and illustrator Michal Sparks gives a gentle story of adventure in the forest with this one concerning having a snow play day. Text is short with pictures on every page. Younger children will enjoy this short chapter book story as a read aloud. Those who read it with them will have a smile too as they read. My grandson, who will start second grade in the fall was able to read this without a problem.

My grandson’s favorite part was the unique snowball fight. Mine is getting to know the characters as the seasons unfold; personalities shine through in the stories. I also eagerly anticipate seeing the Bible verse on the last page

Winter Snow Fun is another installation of the adorable friendship of Skunk and Raccoon and their fellow woodland creatures. This time, they're having fun with snow and all the great things winter brings.

This is perfect for bed time or a Christian based curriculum.

A delightful edition to the seasons books that Dunham seems to be compiling. I particularly enjoyed the last scene with the marshmallow fight.

WINTER SNOW FUN is a wintery book with woodland animal friends waiting for snow. When it finally falls, they hurry and play in it and have a big old time flinging marshmallows in a "snowball fight". This was fun to read, the pictures were engaging, and it made me want to go play in the snow and drink hot chocolate.

It promotes teamwork, and a happy heart is good medicine from the Bible.

Having read one of the earlier books in the series my boys (aged 3 and 5) were very excited to read this new title from the 'Tales of Buttercup Grove Series." The books all follow the same characters; racoon, for mole and various other friends on various adventures. this title follows their adventures in the snow and teaches the biblical truth of enjoying good things. My three year old loves the stories and the beautiful illustrations whilst my 5 year old loves the fact that the text is simple enough for him to read himself.The stories do not contain a lot of biblical truth, just a bible verse at the end but if you are looking for a beautiful presented, heat warming story with christian values certainly check out this series!

This fun read showed the value of teamwork. It also emphasized the biblical value of cheerfulness. The illustrations are beautiful and are a great framework for the story.
Know God: When we have a connection with God we learn to work well with our brethren.
Know yourself: What we have to offer matters even if it's not accepted. It may be the opportunity needed to prompt someone else to step up.
Run your race: What might work well for one person may not work well for you. It's important for you to realize that. It's also a chance to find something that will.

This book is just as cute as the other three books in the Buttercup Grove series. I just love how they always work together and have fun. This book not only taught about having fun together but also about being patient and not worrying. Mouse continues to be my favorite character. I definitely recommend this book.

This is a really cute book about Skunk and Raccoon waiting for snow and when it finally comes all the fun they have with their friends, Mouse, Mole, Beaver, Fox and Rabbit. This would make a really good bedtime story. It has such cute pictures and a bible verse at the end. "A cheerful heart is good medicine. Raccoon and Skunk are all decked out in their winter gear and waiting for it to snow. It finally snows and they decide to go sledding, but there is no good sledding hill so they work together with all their friends to build a big snow hill for sledding. They have fun sledding and build a snowman before the snow melts, then have a "snowball fight" using marshmallows. The ending of the book lists Proverbs 17:22 "A cheerful heart is good medicine." This would make a love bedtime story, or would be a great first chapter book (with very short, easy chapters!) for early readers.

An early reader book with colorful pictures for your child to experience fun in the snow. My own grandchildren will love the animal friends having fun in the snow from the anticipating a snow day to building a snowman, drinking hot cocoa and having a playful snowball fight with marshmallows.


A book to read with your children and to join in the fun or for your child to learn to read with their new animal friends. A delightful book.
