I really wanted to like this book. The synopsis held so much promise, but the book failed to deliver as much as I hoped for from it. I enjoyed it well enough, but with a few tweaks it could have been an even more enjoyable read.

My husband is an identical twin so I always enjoy books that have a twin twist. This one was funny but wasn't my favorite, didn't really connect with the character.

This was a refreshingly cute contemporary read. What I loved most about it was how women positive it was! It was predictably fluffy, but the characters and plot were very engaging. It served me some some Miss Congeniality vibes. It is sheer wish fulfillment in the best way possible! The perfect lighthearted read for anyone wanting some escapist fiction.

I was provided a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest and fair review.

I hadn’t had a chance to read this when it came out back in 2018 but I had originally requested it because it sounded very interesting and the cover is so cute. I’ve never read anything by this author before but this book was great! This book was a perfect blend of Miss Congeniality, The Parent Trap, and Pride and Prejudice. There were so many great bookish references – lots of Harry Potter and Pride and Prejudice references. This is a great read for a book lover! Overall it was a really sweet story and the plot line was well constructed and implemented. I thought that the ending all wrapped up a little quickly though. There was a lot of emotional growing that Charlotte went through during the book and I would’ve liked to witness more of the confrontation / result with Charlotte and her parents and also Ginny. This book was just so fun and entertaining, I really enjoyed it and I would recommend reading it!

Thank you Gallery Books for the complimentary copy for an honest review! I’m just sorry I didn’t get to it sooner!

The Accidental Beauty Queen is funny, heartfelt and an absolute joy to read! Such a cute plot. Twins that couldn’t be more different but having to switch places in a beauty pageant? Totally my vibe!
Charlotte is my spirit heroine! A bookworm and Harry Potter fab! What’s not to love? I immediately took to her. I was actually very surprised by how quickly I got invested in this story. I was actually tearing up in chapter four! That’s how invested I was.

The romance was oh so sweet! I just wish there was more steam. We had such a passionate kiss, I was hoping for a little more action down the road. Was a bit of a disappointment that it was cut to black only to be told later that there was actual Love making.

But the story is strong enough without sex. However, I felt some character renaming could have also been an order. Gray Beckham? Great character, terrible name (sorry!!!!). Also the fact that Charlotte was a huge Harry Potter fan AND had a sister named Ginny?? Isn’t that a little much? Sorry I’m nitpicking!

Overall, this story was fabulous and I love it so so much! I wish I had gotten to reading it sooner!
I’d rate it 4.5 stars!!

This was a cute story about identical twin sisters: one a beauty pageant contestant and the other a librarian. An incident happens to the pageant contestant sister, which will prevent her from competing in her current pageant. That is until she convinces her sister to do it in her stead.

This was a cute story and filled with lighthearted scenes. Read this is you're looking for something uplifting.

Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book. Unfortunately, I was unable to get into it and will not be rating or reviewing at this time. It's a clear case of "it's not you, it's me" so I will try again at some point. If I fare better then, I'll rate and review then.

"Charlotte Gorman loves her job as an elementary school librarian, and is content to experience life through the pages of her books. "

Cute, quick romance. I really, really enjoyed Gray and Charlotte. They seemed like the real thing from the beginning. Loved Buttercup, laughed out loud. Didn't need the whole twin issues, but I get it, it was a huge part of the story. But I did keep rushing through those passages with Ginny.

I wasn't insanely impressed by this book. The concept was cute and all the side characters were lovely. Our main character however was hard to deal with. Wilson seemed to try too hard to make her cute and quirky and "not like other girls". If I heard one more time about her love of Harry Potter I was going to scream.
The love story itself was just okay. The billionaire/normal girl trope isn't terrible but this one was a little corny. For romantic comedy I would not recommend this book, but if you do read it then just don't hold your expectations too high.

ACCIDENTAL BEAUTY QUEEN takes the twin story and turns it on its ear. Utterly delightful with great sister insights. A story with great heart. Recommended read.

While a plot line involving identical twins exchanging identities is perhaps not the most original, it’s definitely one that’s endured over time and still is fascinating (even in our current presidential race). I enjoyed this book a lot, as I thought it had a considerable amount of emotional depth. The romance took a back seat to the family relationship between the sisters and their parents, and even a dog. And that was just fine — it didn’t end up being particular steamy, but it was a pleasant diversion.

I received an advance copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for a fair and unbiased review.

If you're in the mood for pure escapism, The Accidental Beauty Queen fills that bill. Teri Wilson offer s readers a fun romp with engaging characters and a fun premise. I was entertained by the idea of twins switching places. The pacing is fairly fast and even. The romance is light and flirty. The happily ever after is predictable but I still found myself interested in the outcome of the novel. All in all, it's a gentle, fun and flirty read, an entirely enjoyable afternoon. I would read Teri Wilson again. 3.5
I received my copy through NetGalley under no obligation.

Meh. There was a ton of potential here but so so many missed opportunities to make this a rich and complex story. Bumped it up from 2 ⭐️ simply because of my school librarian sisterhood loyalty and having Charlotte be a young school librarian with a strong devotion to HP is 🙌🏼

I am sorry for not reviewing fully but I don’t have the time to read this at the moment. I believe that it wouldn't benefit you as a publisher or your book if I only skimmed it and wrote a rushed review. Again, I am sorry for not fully reviewing!

This was a great easy read. It reminded me a little of Sweet Valley High books from back in the day. Charlotte and Ginny were described well in the book making it easy to picture them and relate to them. The typical twin scenario of "switching places" was pretty predictable but a fun read nonetheless. The parents could have had a bigger part in the book. The character Gray made me want more of him. He sounded gorgeous!!
If you are looking for a light hearted read while enjoying the sun, this book fits the bill.

For many of us, everyday life is a blur of work and errands and appointments and chores. There isn’t a whole lot of glamour in the day-to-day monotony. So, from time to time, it’s nice to get caught up in a fairy tale—the story of an average Jane who does unexpected things—like author Teri Wilson’s The Accidental Beauty Queen.

I loved this book! It was a fun, quick read, and I loved the references to Harry Potter and Pride and Prejudice. I'm a big fan of Teri Wilson's work - her books never disappoint and they're always lighthearted and witty. Hallmark, can you make a movie of this one too, please?? :)
