This book is a Christian twist on the fitness/diet book. It combines Bible verses and spiritual motivation with a laid out fitness and nutrition plan that lasts the titular seven weeks. Each day starts on Sunday and includes "walks with God", diet challenges and an increasingly difficult strength training regimen.

I think this book can be helpful to many people, but it didn't appeal to me. I found the spiritual notions and Bible verses to be watered down and made to fit the author's approach to fitness. I think it just didn't match up with my Lutheran Christian beliefs. And I think it shrank down the magnificent messages in the Bible to fit a fitness routine.

People who have a different approach to Christianity may find this approach to fitness and nutrition helpful and may like the spiritual connections made. It's not a bad book and it seems to be a workable program. It just didn't jibe with my approach to fitness and nutrition.

Upon the completion, I found Seven Sundays by Alec Penix to be such a fulfilling, amazing read that I’ve been so blessed by and plan to reference for years in my journey of lasting health. This is a great fitness resource that not only works on the outward but MORE importantly directs us to reflect in and up to the Savior for a lasting lifestyle approach. That’s my favorite part of the book BY FAR though I benefitted greatly and personally by the exercise and nutrition as well. The heart of the author comes through each day of the journey for the length of Seven Sundays (and Praise be to Jesus for His work in this man’s life and His ministry placed on him to share with others this way). I love the use of CHOSEN which you’ll understand when you purchase your copy of this top fitness resource and start your Seven Sundays’ journey.
I received a digital copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Good step-by-step exercise/eating plan that puts God in the center of it. This is a great read for a Christian, as many health programs just focus on what you eat and what kind of exercises you do. This book is better to read ahead of time as it requires planning what food you need to buy. If you are looking for more than just a food and exercise plan and something that adds to your faith and well-being, this would be a great choice.

What a great, well rounded book! I haven't read or seen anything like it. First, the author shares his story and is very sincere and authentic. Second, his advice is very doable and realistic. I love how the first week is just observation and reflection. Most diet and exercise say just DO it. And it never works, never satisfies. I will admit I haven't done the whole 7 Sundays but I read it though and it really seems possible, a worthy goal to put on the calendar and commit to. Great read!

This is a great book for Christians who seek to get healthy both physically and spiritually. Focusing on spiritual health, nutrition, sleep, and exercise, it takes you through six weeks of daily devotion, goals, and "Worship walks". By the seventh Sunday, one should feel the difference both inside and out!

This was a practical and wonderful read. So often, books on diet and fitness from a Christian perspective seem gimmicky or poorly written. This wasn't the case!
Seven Sundays was a well written read with lots of practical tips and also spiritual direction. I'm looking forward to implementing the Seven Sundays routine in my life soon!
