I wanted to love this one but it just didn't do it for me. It may be because things didn't come across as intended in the translation, but I found the information repetitive so the whole thing could have been much shorter and streamlined. Again, perhaps it wasn't the tone in its original language, but I found the author to be extremely narcissistic and self-inflating. The way he spoke about the religion that he created being the fast track and only valid way to get to heaven really missed the mark. His comments about being the only person in the world who knows as much about the spiritual world did nothing but annoy me in the end.

If I could give no stars I would, Honestly my atheist niece could write better on the subject and shes 7. I think the writing for any adult is under per and makes the book unbelievable. I love to read what others think and believe in in but this wasn't worth my time.

While I am extremely interested in reading about other religions, Happy Science does not even come close to being an actual religion.

Sadly, Happy Science seems to be a dangerous cult following a bizarre "religion" created from a mishmash of fact and fiction.

I could not, in good conscience, recommend this title, or any other works by this author, to anyone.

In the interest of full disclosure, I received a free digital copy of this title to review from Net Galley.

I’m not sure if it’s Okawa’s writing style or just the result of translation from Japanese to English, but it felt like I was reading a book about the levels of Heaven and Hell meant for middle schoolers. The repetition of sentences irked me to the point that I began to
just skim read when I was 15% through.
Usually books about the spirit world are comforting which was why I chose Journey Through the Spirit World. The fluffy cloud bookcover is misleading. This felt like the premise for a horror story. I will not be reading any more of Okawa’s books.
Or perhaps I will revisit this come Halloween if I’m in the mood for a good fright.

I love to read about how other's experience the other side, but this book is extremely difficult to follow and read. From the way it is written (specifically word choice and prose) I feel as if stories and statements are restated to help bring credibility, but instead it comes off in the opposite way.

Had a difficult time following the musings and belief systems having been raised and living as Southern Baptist. Some of the information coincides with Biblical information. However, reincarnation and eventual deliverance from hell is not an accepted.Christian view. Generally speaking, the concept of "getting your heart right" prior to death of the physical body is definitely in our best interest. Some of the information is downright scary.

This is a wonderful look at spirit. It shows us what happens when we die and how we communicate with spirit in our sleep. It is absolutly a must for anyone interested in the spirit world.

I would like to thank Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a review copy in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion of it.
