I was looking forward to this book. I am not a genre snob so I give just about anything a try. That being the case this was not my first reverse harem book. It is one of the ones I am disappointed in. I felt like all the characters thought about was sex. And that isn't always a bad thing, but when I can't connect with the characters and it starts to take away from the story, I don't find that enjoyable. I love a good steamy scene just like anyone else, but I am in it for the storyline as well.

I did enjoy how strong of a woman Rose was, I always love when the female character is kick butt take names kinda gal and Rose definitely knew how to take care of herself.

I would like to thank the author and the Netgalley website for this partnership.

I was immediately attracted to the cover and the summary.

Rose having been abandoned, she learned from an early age to survive on her own. Until the day she meets three men who will fill the void in her. She will learn that not everything in life is so pretty and to survive this she will have to fight.

A first volume that I loved, I immediately hooked on the story so captivating, moving and full of twists and turns and suspense with endearing characters.

Looking forward to reading the rest of this series.

"Sleeping Rose" is the first in a reverse harem trilogy. It's a paranormal romance tale set in present day Atlanta. For what it is, the story is well-written with rounded characters that develop as the story moves along.

Rose is a 24 year-old woman who is barely making ends meet. One evening, she goes to a club and she runs into 2 very hot, but very different, men. From that night, her lifestyle changes, and Rose is thrust into the society of the various magical realms. At the same time, Rose learns more about herself and these other worlds. This story also gets realistic about what could happen to children growing up in foster care, and the reality of having potential love interests fighting over the same individual. It sounds a bit cliche, but the plot picks up towards the end of this novel. That being said, I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

"Sleeping Rose" is a great read for fans of both the paranormal romance, and the reverse harem genres. The theme of identity and destiny will remind readers of "the Hero/the Chosen One," and it works. This tale will both burn and bite the reader

I like the supernatural twists throughout this book. As soon as you think you know what might happen, another supernatural twist appears. I liked the idea that Rose is strong and independent (which is how the story started) but her tough act was sometimes overshadowed by the fact that she tended to be the damsel in distress who needed someone to save her.

At some points in the story, I found that I got irritated because it felt like there was too much happening at once. I did like the character development of the supporting characters. Drake - the werewolf is a real gentleman with the protective streak that makes me swoon. Eli irritated me a bit at some points because of his rude remarks but I did understand his need to run away from his own feelings. Oren was the sexy panty dropper to complete the equation.

I did enjoy this book but I felt like it was missing something extra special to make it brilliant.

This story had a REALLY good premise, but the execution of it failed me miserably...
The story starts abruptly, don't get me wrong I like that kind of beginning as it sets the pace of the story. Not the story starts like that, but after that, we get so LITTLE background information about characters that we are supposed to connect with... crap, at some point I wondered if I knew anything about them! So I could not follow them with that much of interest as I wanted to feel... Needs adding a background to the story.
Secondly, what is going on in the beginning... how can some stuff appear that are magical (wolf that would leap at her) and she is not AFRAID due to some glint in its eyes... and WTF... in a human world where h is human! Well... I would FREAK out for sure and run away or be still in the very place!
I hope that book 2 will be better than this one as the story had the premise for sure...

I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. A lot more of these reversed harem books are coming cross my desk. I think it is kind of empowering. Strong woman and three hot steamy supernatural guys. Eli the vampire. Drake the werewolf. Oren the fae. That is an impressive line up. Rose believes she is human and after losing her job and decides to go out is when all of those treats come into her life each thinking she is their mate. It takes something almost happening to Rose for the three of them to put their differences a side and protecting the woman they love.

This book/series has potential. I thought the characters were rather flat and one dimensional. Very little backstory was given for the various characters which made it hard for me to connect to them. It didn't provoke any emotions in me. I wasn't intrigued enough to want to continue the story.

This book uses many supernatural characters to include vampires, wolf shifters, fey and demons. They are certainly not all likeable but, Rose finds herself instantly attracted to them all and they are all attracted to her. She grew up in foster care and worked as a stripper until she was recently fired. For someone who has been chaste for 24 years, her world seems spiraling yet, it doesn’t cause much distress. I found this book a bit disjointed but see that it is first in the series. Perhaps the story will come together more in the next installment.

Maybe it's just me, but there seems to be a spate of poor writing going around the YA or NA Supernatural Romance genre. Sure, I love fluffy, easy to read books as much as anyone else, and I'm not asking for the next War and Peace, but I do expect some talent and appreciation for structure in the books I read.
This is an excellent example of not having any of that.
Firstly, to suspend my disbelief, the world in which the story is set must be obviously magical. If the opening lines are about elves and spells, then I assume I'm reading high fantasy, and when a wolf pads out of the forest with a knowing look in his eyes, then I will suspend disbelief and assume something like that is possible. However, when a world is set up in the opener as mundane, I expect the characters to behave according to the laws of a mundane world until such time as proven otherwise. Ie, until the time the protag realises she is magic or whatever. So when this stripper (who of course just does it for the money) goes to work, gets kicked out for working too much (finding it difficult to understand why a somewhat painted as sleazy manager would have a problem with a stripper working too much), takes her beat up car to the liquor store, which conveniently breaks down near a park/wood (not to mention a perve popping up that she has to fight off, showing us just how kick ass she is) then encounters a wolf which comes straight for her, I expect her to act in a mundane way. Freaking out, panicking, because in a mundane world, a wolf is a predator and something most people should be scared of. Just being like, oh, that's totally okay, breaks my suspension of disbelief completely. Even if I suspect something paranormal afoot, there should be obvious alludes to that - the protag telling me about her gut feeling of rightness, something magical to lead us into this encounter. Not just... Oh, there's some glowing eyes in the darkness, I'll go straight towards them. It's not remotely believable.
(another one!) She says she killed a man with her bare hands at sixteen! And yet! In this mundane world, with no mention of supernatural laws,we hear nothing about how she gets away with murder. You can't drop that sentence in there and just leave it. It clunks. And too many clunks make me eventually just give up.
I appreciate that NA Romance is big right now, and everyone seems to want to write their own particular fantasy of it (heck, I do), but just throwing a bunch of words at the screen isn't gonna cut it. At least have a basic idea of the rules of writing (even if it's to break them!) before having a stab at it.
Otherwise, like this poor offering, that stab in the dark will miss, miserably.
