LOVED IT! Love this series but loved the 3rd book a tiny bit less. I kind of felt the story should have ended there. But I’m glad it didn’t, and I am happy to learn there is another installment coming next year. This had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I was rooting for these characters as if they were people I actually knew in real life. So, so good!!

The fourth installment of the Jane Hawk series picks up where the previous one left off. There were many unanswered questions at the end of the third book. If you have not read this series from the beginning, I urge you to start with the first book, as this is not a stand alone. Jane is still on the run, and she is still the most wanted fugitive in America. At this point, Jane has been on her rogue mission for about four months. She is still tracking the leaders of the Techno Arcadians, the cabal that seeks to transform the world into a utopia through the Hamlet List.

Jane’s story has caught public interest. The media is attacking her and her family, digging up stories from her past and dragging them through the mud. But Jane’s concern is only for her son, Travis, because he is suddenly in danger. She will stop at nothing to ensure his safety. Jane finds herself in a race against time as the odds are increasingly stacked against her.

The action is intensified in this book. It feels as though we have come to the point in the story where the groundwork had been laid and there’s nothing left but to pursue the goal and ride to the finish line. The Arcadian’s reach is far and wide. Jane once again relies on her network of friends and associates to help her along the way. Koontz displays great talent once again in developing the characters in this installment.

The Techno Arcadians soon realize that something is wrong with some of their nanoimplants. Certain people that they have adjusted to join in the hunt for Jane and Travis are behaving erratically, falling through the forbidden door. They are left with no option but to try to cover up the carnage and continue in their hunt for Jane. Like the previous books in this series, the ending of this book is left wide open. Jane still has a rough road ahead of her, and I eagerly anticipate the next installment in this exciting series.

I would recommend this book to fans of thrillers and suspense. I received this as a free ARC from Bantom Books, Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

While I love Jane Hawk, the last book in this series only got 3 stars from me.

I felt a little like Koontz had spent a large portion of the book teasing something that never panned out for the reader.

Well, I’m happy to say that with The Forbidden Door, Koontz is back on track and Jane is Butt-Kickingly Fabulous!
Our storyline is tight, tense, and INTENSE. I was on tenterhooks, so concerned about my favorite characters! And Koontz does the reader the favor of bringing back some beloved characters for this one.

Yes, there’s more to come – you knew there was! I wish the next book was available right now.

Five well deserved stars.

Do YOU know Jane Hawk? Rogue FBI agent intent on saving the world from the Techno Arcadians? If not, you've missed out on one of the most entertaining thriller series available for your reading pleasure.

This is book #4. Under NO circumstances should you read this until you have read 1-3. This is not any kind of standalone, plus you'll be missing the amazing backstory and the incredible details that continue to make these episodes so compelling.

Nanotechnology is real, but the Techno Arcadians have taken the science to a whole new level. This group of powerful men and women seek to enslave or destroy anyone who doesn't share their vision of revolution in order to create their version of Utopia. Jane Hawk is on the run, ferreting out some of those rich egomaniacs, all the while trying to save her son, Jack, whom she has hidden because he is her Achilles heel. They get Jack, they get her.

The action is nonstop, and Dean Koontz, like no other author, loves description, metaphor, simile, and $25.00 words! I am in love with this series and with Jane Hawk. If you're in the mood to step into a world that may become real in the not-so-distant future, you will inhale these books as I have. Definitely my most anticipated read of summer in 2018, I can honestly say that it was just as good as I hoped. More information, more gore, more unique characters, more "adjusted" people and more of Jane Hawk's evasion tactics. This, folks, is pure entertainment! Don't miss it.

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Books for approving me to read and review this e-book ARC. I was happy to see a preview of #5 at the end of this, and cannot wait until I get to read it. Do we dare hope for a conclusion to this saga at that point, or will Koontz torture me further?

Jane Hawk is public enemy number one. The smear campaign against her is going full steam, but people are beginning to wonder, is this the full story? Meanwhile, the Arcadians have uncovered the secret of who is guarding Jane's son, Travis. Jane is putting all her available resources to work in order to get him once again safe. The Arcadians have considerable resources and are well-connected inside the government, but they are not a majority, and they are not without a soft underbelly. If you have followed Jane Hawk this far, you really don't want to miss this book! I'm already wishing the next one was out!

The saga continues as Jane moves from Northern California to Southern California to rescue her son. Author Dean Koontz once again proves he is the master of character development as he describes Jane’s friends and foes with such explicit detail that we immediately recognize them as the story moves back and forth to many different locations. The government conspiracy is insidious, deep, and far-reaching. Reader would be best served to star with the first boo in the series. Looking forward to the next installment already!
