I enjoy a good sports romance and this book did not disappoint. Football is my favorite sport. Found Marcus’s and Bree’s first encounter hysterical and her reaction was priceless and real. I adored Marcus and loved how he was genuine and an overall really nice guy. Bree is super smart and even though irrational at times, also enjoyable. This was a good story and you do not need to read the first book before this one. After reading this I definitely am going too. Looking forward to reading more about these characters and by this author.

LOVED Marcus and Bree. He was so great and she was perfect for him. Can't wait to read more from this series!

The description of this book sounded interesting; injured footballer uses his time off to finish up his undergrad degree. While in school, he falls in love with his teacher. And this book lived up to that description, even while avoiding the over-played --- even though they're adults they shouldn't be together because of reasons trope.
When Bree Novak literally runs into her favorite Dragons player, she is flustered. When she finds out he's going to be in her Intro to Physics class, she is absolutely speechless. But Marcus James it not only hot, he's a nice guy and hot for her.
I appreciated the discussion of CTE but it was overplayed. I wish we had had more of a resolutions with Bree's problems with her advisor but this was probably very true to life.
I'm looking forward to reading more books in this series.

I stopped reading it at 30%. Six chapters were enough to bore me out of my mind.
Maybe it was the third person writing, the sporadic dialogues and the fact that nothing really happens!!!

Here's what I got so far: he's an NFL player, currently injured and trying to finish his education. He's equally nerd and jock. She's a physics TA and he's her student, of course. They meet on campus, she's a huge fan of his, their attraction for each other is obvious, but when I was finally ready for them to kiss at least, she says "we can't. you're my student." :insert eye roll:

So, my kindle says I need another three hours to finish reading it and I simply can't. I'm sure it's not the book's fault, so I would highly recommend you to give it a chance. I didn't click with it. It didn't suck me in, but maybe it won't be the same for you.

This is the story of Marcus and Bree. Bree is teaching the college class Marcus is in while he is recuperating from a knee injury... they go from student/teacher to friends to lovers. They first meet when Bree accidently tripped into/on Marcus when she was leaving a coffee shop. She instantly knew who he was and feels like a stalker since her mug and t-shirt show his team AND number! LOL! I thought that was funny!
The transition into each category of there relationship was done very nicely. I enjoyed all the different scenes which helped make this a fully rounded book. I like the story line of Marcus and his friends.

My only small complaint is I would have liked a epilogue. I need the closure.

This is book 2 in this series, but can be read as a standalone. I was a little sad the prior couple was barely mentioned. It seems Marcus hung out with different players on his team.

The premise of Swagger drew me in: a career sportsman goes back to finish his undergraduate degree while on injury leave and falls for his physics professor. Total gem of a synopsis; cute and different…
Except I was annoyed with Bree, the female protagonist, for about half of the book with her tendency to hold back her emotions until the very last moment when she would explode. I also did not feel the chemistry between her and Marcus. There was hardly much dialogue between the two until they started a physical relationship with each other— then they only talked while in flagrante delicto.
I did appreciate Liz Lincoln’s academic female lead with a promising career in physics. I thought Marcus was a gentleman— perhaps too gentlemanly, and Bree needed to grow a pair, without taking it out on the unsuspecting.

This is the second book in the Milwaukee Dragons series, and is light enough for a quick, entertaining read.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.

Marcus James is a tight end for the Milwaukee Dragons NFL team. He injured his ACL and is out for the season. He has decided to go back two college to finish up the last two classes he needs to finish his degree. One of these classes is intro to Physics, taught by grad student Bree Novak. Bree is finishing up her doctorate in Physics. She is having to deal with crippling panic attacks and a sexist advisor, who doesn’t believe women belong in the Physics. She is a huge fan of the Dragons and Marcus in particular. This sets up the hot-for-teacher, forbidden romance between the two of them. I liked this story, but I didn’t love it. What I loved about this story, Marcus. He is the perfect guy, an athlete, loves smart women, patient. I also liked that they had the female love interest as an academic in the STEM area. What drove me crazy about this story, Bree. When the inevitable breakup happens (this is not a spoiler as every romance does this), it was due to Bree being irrational. But of course the story put the blame on Marcus. Sometimes women are jerks too and they need to put on their big girl panties and do the apologizing. If you liked the first book in this series, you will enjoy this book.

I definitely enjoyed reading this book! This is Bree and Marcus book, Bree is working towards getting her PhD and is teaching physics, Marcus is a tight end for the Milwaukee dragons football team but is out on injured leave so he decides while he has the time he'll finish his degree! Bree ends up being his teacher, they do meet before that when Bree not paying attention slams into Marcus and they both go tumbling down of course Bree is mortified! Marcus is her celebrity crush!!! It was a great story! It flowed very nicely! It was hot! Low drama, just a nice hot read! I definitely recommend reading this book and series!! I did read the first book in this series but it's not necessary too! Thank you NetGalley and penguin random house publishers for sharing this book with me!

I really enjoyed reading this book. Lots of outside forces pushing and pulling these two away from their dreams but yet they stay true to themselves and their dreams! I do wish the I'm sorry at the end was like a message on the Jumbotron with a private picnic on the field some over the top romantic jester that included both of their love for football but the idea of him giving her the keys to his car for her to drive was subtle. Marcus is such a good guy and a really easy character to like. You feel his struggle throughout the book and yet you can't help but root for the guy to find his nerd! Bree is just a strong, fierce leading character. You want her to find someone who is strong enough to realize how amazing she truly is, someone who will let her live out her dream and support her, Marcus is exactly that guy! Really good story!
