Wait for Me is the conclusion to Susan May Warren's exciting Montana Rescue series. I'm sad that this is the end. It's become one of my favorite series and I'm gonna miss these characters who've come to feel like friends to me. But, wow, what a way to end!

This is finally Jess and Pete's story. They've had an off and on relationship since the first book and I've been so anxious for them to settle things once and for all. And my goodness, this book brought all the feels! It was almost impossible to put down. There was so much suspense and a foreboding sense of danger. The stakes felt higher. There were twists and turns that I did not see coming. I couldn't read it fast enough.

I seriously can't recommend this series highly enough. It's perfect for anyone who enjoys romantic suspense.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and comments are my honest opinion.

Totally & utterly outrageous. This series (of which this is the 6th & final book) is sometimes quite frankly everything but reality. Every one of each major character goes through multiple near death, high intensity, level of stress out of this world experiences. Considering Pete & Jess have been featured throughout the entire series as a will they/won't they couple - it's amazing they are even still alive. But get this. The outrageous is what turns the pages. The crazy unbelievable is what keeps us coming back for more. Book after book after book. Susan May Warren is a master at writing not only the suspense, and the you couldn't have guessed it if you tried twists - but the soul wrenching emotions you feel as you loose yourself in the middle of this SAR team. I have been hooked on this series from the beginning.

I am reminded why I reserve the 5 star rating for reviews as my gold standard. When you read something that literally takes your breath away, your regular 'that was a pretty awesome book' rating is no longer good enough. 'Wait for Me' earns this hands down.

I was lost in the Bob. I was churning over Pete's heartbreak. I was wishing Felipe would disappear back to France. I was wondering when the Sheriff was going to show up. I was inwardly begging Jess to finally do the right thing. Amongst it all, I was reminded of why God is the One that can teach us about true love. Charity. The anti-dote to fear. That goodness exists in this world and is expressed by many people, everyday.

I will miss this gang. What crazy adventure does this author have ready for us next?!!!

Thanks to Revell for the eARC. This is my honest review.

Wait for Me is an amazing conclusion to the Montana Rescue series! Jess and Pete's story has been simmering in the background the longest and it was so great to see them finally...finally, figure things out and get together. We also got a bonus second love story with Shae and Ned, Ned really won me over!

I love quotes and Warren's books are always full of the best and most insightful ones. This one on love really spoke to me,
"..she too knew real love. The kind of love that forgave and showed up and chased and forgave again and kept showing up, loving her when she didn't have the courage to love back. Love pursued. Love forgave. Love believed. Love sacrificed."

This author comment is another quote I love,
"The best thing we can do is live in truth, love others well, and trust in a God who loves us enough to fix our messes."

This finale has all the action, suspense, romantic tension and faith elements fans and readers have come to associate with a Susan May Warren book. As with the Christiansen Family and the Montana Fire series, I am sad to see the Montana Rescue series end, but I'm excited to see where the next Susie May adventure will lead us! I appreciate Revell for making a copy of Wait for Me available for review.

Wait for Me by Susan May Warren is the final novel in the Montana Rescue series. Each book of the romance adventure series focused on a couple facing seemingly insurmountable odds, both personal and situational, In book 6, Pete Brooks is forced to exam his history to understand its impact on himself and on his relationship with Jess Tagg, who he has not seen in over a year.

While Pete is struggling with self-examination, Jess Tagg is struggling with her own issues. Coming from a very well to-do family, Jess also struggles with a controlling mother, who has been diagnosed with a debilitating disease, and a father who committed a crime that devastated many. It is Jess whose testimony sealed the guilty verdict for her father’s case.

In the meantime, a story thread that has run through each of the six books is Esme Shaw, a young woman who had disappeared after witnessing a crime and the murder of her boyfriend while still a teen. In book five, Esme returns home tired of running scared, fully aware that the murdered may yet come after her.

Having survived a tremendous crash off a mountain, Jess and Esme find themselves kidnapped and dragged into the dangerous wilderness of Montana. The PEAK Rescue Team is called out and determined to find the two women, none more than Pete Brooks.

I highly recommend Wait for Me! I’ve been reading this author’s books for a number of years and she always provides great stories.

I really really wasn't crazy about this book, and it may have had to do with the fact that it was the 5th book in this series and I had not started from the beginning but I can honestly tell you that when I have had done that before, not the norm with me, After I started reading I have no desire to go back and start at the beginning I was bored, there was a lot of characters and chaos and going back in the past..Eventually Jess the main female character and Pete the main male character ended up together after a lot of ridiculousness. Didn't give it a two, because the writing was well done, just not my cup of tea.

Wow! What an ending to the Montana Rescue Book Series! This book primarily tells Jess, Pete, & Shae's stories but also gives brief updates on the rest of the PEAK Rescue Team's stories. FANTASTIC book. Lots of action. Rescues. Romance. Family. I couldn't put the book down. If you haven't read other books in the series, my advice would be to pick up book 1 and read your way through the series. I was pulled into the book from the first paragraph. GREAT book!!!

“Wait for Me”, by Susan May Warren, is another exciting story in the Montana Rescue series, featuring a gorgeous tortured hero, Pete, whose character shows an incredible growth since we’ve met him in the beginning of these high-risk outdoor adventures.
Always “the charmer and the protector”, brave, heroic Pete carries a darkness inside that makes him a broken man we want to comfort. Throughout the series we’ve been watching how Pete keeps his emotions tucked away, living off his charm and humour (Loc. 1252), but finally he has his happy ending with Jess, the heroine, who makes him feel like he isn’t “a complete mess”.
The kindness, the brokenness, the “heroic aura” all contribute to create a great, complex hero.
The beautiful and dangerous setting of Glacier National Park is the perfect backdrop for the story about tormented hero, who has “always lived a little on the edge between crazy and brave.” (Loc. 4220).
I just wish Shae and Ned will have their own story and this isn’t the end of the series

Wait For Me is the final book in the Montana Rescue series. This romantic suspense novel is a must read!!! This book will answer any remaining questions you have from the previous books. The main focus of this book is on Pete and Jess’s relationship. Of course, there has to be some suspense too. After Pete and Jess come in contact with each other in Montana, Jess catches a ride with Ned and Shae. Once in the car, they are run off the road and captured. Who is behind this and why are they doing it? This stunning conclusion will leave you guessing to what might occur next. This book will update you on characters in the other books and also provide more to Ned and Shae’s relationship. If you have enjoyed the other books in the series, you will not be disappointed in this book. If you haven’t read the series, you can read this as a stand-alone book, but will enjoy reading the series in order. I highly recommend this book and the entire series!!! You will not be disappointed! Be prepared to read all night!
***I was given a free electronic copy of this book from the publisher for an honest review. This is my honest opinion. Even though I received this copy free, I have purchased her books before.

I really enjoyed Pete and Jess story. It was a great way to wrap the series up. What I do wish happened was that she told Ned and Shae's story separately. I totally understand why it was intertwined but I truly wish there was more of Shae and Ned. I think that Ned and Shae's story honestly was more interesting that Jess and Pete.

Jess and Pete's relationship and chemistry has been deniable since they were first introduced in the series. They were definitely meant to be the entire time and you know in some way, they will find a way back to each other. I was a little bit annoyed with Jess and how she wanted to make everyone happy but herself.

I loved the element of suspense and surprise throughout the whole story, even down to the last few scenes with Blackburn.

I did get a little lost in some of the flashbacks while the current story was still happening. But overall, a great story.

I Received an ARC copy from netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

With Wait For Me, Susan May Warren brings her stunning romantic suspense series Montana Rescue to a close. Wait For Me is the sixth and final book in a series that has given readers so many tense life-and-death situations, challenges, and stories of resilience, survival, faith, second chances and, of course, love. Bringing the series full circle, Wait For Me finally gives readers the long-awaited story of Pete and Jess - characters whose complicated relationship has been spread throughout the series - as well as a conclusion to the mystery surrounding the disappearance and recent return of Esme Shaw. It is thrilling, romantic, deeply layered and everything I have come to expect from Warren.

Pete Brooks promised Jess Tagg, aka Selene Taggert, that he would wait for her. But after a year of silence, broken promises to return and news that she is engaged to someone else, Pete knows that it might be time to move on. When Jess makes a surprise return to Montana neither she nor Pete know how to deal with their complicated emotions and tangled story. But when Jess, Esme Shaw and Esme’s date Nec Marshall are run off the road and kidnapped, Pete will stop at nothing to rescue Jess- no matter what the future holds for them.

Pete and Jess’s story has been one I have been eagerly awaiting. Their story, ups and downs, possibilities and near-misses, has been scattered throughout the events of the first five books in the Montana Rescue series. Pete has lived with much regret, first from the death of his father, then a broken relationship with his brother and countless poor decisions, and more recently lives he couldn’t save, but losing Jess haunts him the most. Torn between wanting to fight for her and protecting his heart, it’s hard not to fall a little for Pete and his broken heart and protective drive. Jess, on the other hand, is a runner. She ran from New York and her father’s crimes and her family’s reaction, she ran from Pete and the pull she felt between her two worlds. Wait For Me gives Pete and Jess a chance to finally bring everything out into the open, clear up misunderstandings and finally, truly fight for what they both want.

Wait For Me is also Esme’s story. After her disappearance five years ago and staying silent about the crimes she witnessed, Esme has only recently returned to Montana with the intent to bring justice to those who deserve it. But when she, Jess and Ned are kidnapped and find themselves lost in the Montana wilderness, knows she might finally be paying for what she saw. Together, she, Jess and Ned must fight for survival - both from the elements and from the person hunting them.

Incredibly strong characters with amazing strength and resilience has always been the thing I have loved most about the Montana Rescue series. And while Jess longs for rescue throughout the story, she never once gives up or stays down. Neither will Pete and the PEAK team give up.

Bringing the series to a close, Wait For Me has all the romantic tension, tests of survival, and strong camaraderie of all of the books in the Montana Rescue series. I suggest reading the other books in the series before starting Wait For Me, and I can highly recommend each and every one of them. While it is sad to see this series concluded, I have highly enjoyed journeying with these characters.

The publishers provided an advanced readers copy of this book for reviewing purposes. All opinions are my own.

it was amazing

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series! This last book is filled with intense moments from dangerous rescues to favorite characters be in dire situations that seem impossible to survive. Pete and Jess are finally face to face after her trip back to her 'other's world, an existence Pete couldn't possibly be part of. Susan May Warren gives us a wild story to complete the series that many readers have become invested in for a few years now.
They author has done a great job making sure to bring everyone back to the area where lives were entwined to rescue others, save lives, reach for God's grace and find a heart that belongs with one love.
Well done Susie May!

My thanks goes out to the publisher and NetGalley for my ARC of the book. I am going to miss these characters who are magnetic with realistic stories that have drawn me in.

I hadn't read the previous books in the series, and didn't realize this was part of a series before requesting it. There are a LOT of characters involved in this book, and a few females with two names because they are trying to start new lives. This became confusing very quickly, as there are also two places with 'M' names involved in most of the action. I hate when authors do that.

The beginning of the book had me skimming things because it was cringe-worthy to read. I had no idea what was actually going on, as there was no introduction to people. We are just thrown into the scenario of a rescue mission. And then there was a different scene with a guy who hurt his knee but they weren't the same people from earlier. I was totally confused.

There was also a LOT of physical stuff in this book. No sex, but people pressing themselves against one another, a man who continually remembers the sounds his ex-girlfriend made when they kissed, and things that turned him on, him wanting to not be lonely but the only reason he didn't sleep with a girl was because he didn't want to hurt his old girlfriend. This was bothersome to me, as I like my Christian fiction to be totally G-rated. I don't mind mentioning struggles and sins from the past (we all have them!) but to describe what he likes so much was too much for me. We see that Pete says he wants to not be the old Pete, but there isn't a reason given for why he has changed, or wanted to change. Had he found the Lord? He never says.

There was absolutely no mention of God until much later in the book, and then it seemed to be only token things brought forward from previous books in the series. I really went back through the intro pages etc and found that there was no quoted scripture in the book at all, and I thought perhaps I had requested a non-Christian book by mistake. I read this type of fiction so I can be encouraged in my walk with the Lord, not just for 'escapism' fiction. That part was disappointing to me.

I skimmed the entire middle of the book looking for mentions of spiritual things, and ended up near the end when the climax of the action happens. That part was actually well written, and I enjoyed the mystery and action. And sad to say, I don't feel like I missed anything at all by skipping so much of the book. This section was even bogged down by page after page of dialog of people arguing about misunderstandings, and things that happened in the past, that for whatever reason all had to be resolved at the same time. And more of the physical issues for Pete that Jess just didn't seem to understand. Almost like she was provoking him.

So I will not be checking out any previous books in this series, nor will I look for more books by this author. I was disappointed overall for the reasons mentioned above.

Such a wonderful end to a beautiful series. The action and adventure kept me on the edge of my seat! Jess and Pete kept the pages turning and your heart pumping, breaking and being put back together at the same time. It is amazing how grief, without God, can pull you down so low, you almost can't find your way out. But His mercy is always there...always waiting for us to reach out for it. This is the love that Susan makes stand out.

Absolutely loved Jess and Pete's story! Loving someone so much that you follow them across the country and then across the ocean to show your love and not be given the same in return would make anyone want to give up on love. But Pete didn't do that, like God doesn't do that to us, he loves us unconditionally. One of my favorite quotes is "True love-unconditional love-declares you worthy just because it chooses you." Once you believe and realize that you are not going to please everyone, you start seeing what is best for you and what God has in store for you, you give Him control!

"Wait for Me" is a thrilling conclusion to Susan May Warren's Wild Montana series. This is a series you should definitely read in order, although all the books can be read as stand-alone novels. This book wrapped up the series with a powerful message of God's love delivered through broken characters who experience dangerous circumstances. Some of my favorite quotes:  "That God never intended me to fight my battles alone. That's why he gave me family."  "Love pursued. Love forgave. Love believed. Love sacrificed."  and "Because love gave all. And love would give her the strength to do what she had to do, even if someone got hurt."

I received a copy from Net Galley. The review is my honest opinion.

Search and Rescue Team, Pete, going against the odds, when he see the caravan turn in the rapid floodwaters. With heart pounding, Pete tries, and felt the loss of not getting them all out. The man questions him, have you lost someone. He had it was Jess, the turmoil, of their lives, and disasters, being engaged to someone else. When Pete shows Jess how deep his love for her, he has. Will this be what Jess needed to see, to accept. This was the conclusion, with a powerful ending for Pete and Jess. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion by Revell and Net Galley.

Say it isn't so, I hope that there will be more of this series in the future. If not then this was a great ending. I guess I mean, lol.
Pete will go to the ends of the earth for Jess. Over and over again. If any couple deserves a happy ending, it's those two.

I had the privilege to be able to read an ARC of Wait for Me and although I loved this series I LOVED this story and Pete in particular. Thank you Susan May Warren for the blessing of this book.
True love is one that never fades but grows stronger as we go in life~ even when we have to let it go in the hopes that it returns to us.
Jess and Pete fell in love while working together for PEAK Rescue in Montana. But when Jess's old life came back to haunt her she decided it was time to go home and try to fix what she felt she destroyed...her family and the broken heart of her fiancé Felipe.
When Jess left, Pete felt the air leave his lungs and life permanently. He followed her NYC and tried to convince her to return to Montana and asked her to marry him. She said yes but not yet. She needed to try and help her family heal. While there he met Felipe'.
Soon after he read in the paper that they were engaged.
But Pete was not willing to give up on their love yet.
He decided to follow Jess and Felipe' to Paris for the new year. When he arrived he tracked them down and was able to persuade Jess to spend some time with him and again he proposed. Again Jess said not yet. Once again Pete went back to Montana alone. But hopeful that she would come back to him. Time went by...no Jess.
But there is always hope.
When I began the story I thought I would be drawn to them equally but I realized by the end of the story that although both had gone through much growth in all ways my heart fell for Pete. He loved her so completely that he knew he had to reach that point of letting go and letting God take care of her in the hopes that God would give him the desire of his heart.
