Ok I loved the controversial princess and all the twists and turns that entailed and it left with huge questions to be answered. His true queen answers them but a large portion in the middle of this book seemed to lack some action. The end 30% was amazing and it answers everything you need it to and there is a HEA but, in my opinion, there was something missing in this book. There were lots of twists and turns in this book which kept me reading and wanting to find out what happens with all the characters and the writing as always was impeccable because I had hate for certain characters and went through a range of emotions whilst reading. Overall I enjoyed this book and found it a fitting end to the duology.

Stunningly Alluring.
His True Queen was is a brilliant piece of art written by Jodi she captivated these characters and made them devastating perfect! I am in awe of the emotion put into each and every page A MUST READ BOOK!

Wow, this book picks up right after the BOMB was dropped at the end of The Controversial Princess and held back no punches. I have to admit, I was on the fence during the first book, I was having a hard time connecting to the book and staying interested. The second book was a whole different ball game though, I COULDN'T TEAR MY EYES OFF OF MY KINDLE. It was a classic case of don't-blink-you-may-miss-something-just-read kind of scenarios. It was a big guessing game of who did it & who is lying, and just when I was certain I knew what was going to happen next, Jodi threw a curveball that left me scratching my head.

I highly suggest this enjoyable duet to anyone. The hero was drool-worthy and the heroine is a total badass - you will not be disappointed!

His True Queen-Yessss...The much awaited conclusion of the Smoke & Mirrors Duo by Jodi Ellen Malpas. Ohhh gahhh I can not get enough of this book, I actually kept trying to turn the page on my kindle cuz I did not want it to end!!!!

Let me just tell you, I thought I was going to die a slow death while waiting for the conclusion of the Smoke & Mirrors Duo, after that one hell of a cliffy that Jodi left us in at the end of book 1-The Controversial Princess.

Anddd this is one of those reviews that is sooo hard to write because I don't want to mention something in this book 2 review to screw up your reading experience. Soooo, if you have not read book one, GASP cuz that's just a crime...lol You really, just need to stop reading my review and go one click the first book The Controversial Princess, cuz you are sooo lucky book 2-His True Queen is expected to release on August 7, 2018. So there will be minimal waiting after that crazzzy ass cliffy we had to endure. lol

I do want to say that Josh Jameson is still just as Hawt and Alpha male as he was in book one!! Good lord I think he was more alpha in this book.. SWOON!!! I do believe I may have read where he might have thrown that beautiful, defiant princess over his shoulder a time or two..haha

*Sighssss* Yesss….Yesssss you are!!!! There were times I absolutely wanted to throw my Kindle while reading!!! I could not take the angst at times...lol And ummm that is what I love while reading but, I was rooting for these two, I just wanted mushy, mushy love. haha But you know what, all that angst just made me love LOVE this read soooo much more!!!

I gave His True Queen 5 iScream "My American Boy" Cones!!!! Yess Jodi Ellen Malpas, I could read this story forever!!!! I hope there are additional books in the future with these 2!!!

When I think of this series one word comes to mind. Drama. I didn’t love nor like the first book but couldn’t stop on that cliffhanger so I gave the series a second shot.... and it was exhausting. I literally made myself finish the book. The story just couldn’t hold my attention and sadly by the end I had already guessed what was going to happen. I was completely let down with this series. I had such high expectations with all the great rating it had.

The story of Adeline and Josh was everything I thought it would be! Their chemistry, their banter and most of all their love story made this a book I could t put down.

There is no doubt as to why this is the most anticipated book of the summer ! Thank you netgalley for my ARC!

His True Queen picks up right where we left off and Adeline is dealing with the loss of her father, her brother, the secrets that have come out, becoming Queen and most of all her relationship with her American boy, Josh.

"Wear the crown. Be a queen. That is all you have to do."

Adeline has a lot on her plate as the new Queen of England and the new responsibilities that come with it, however, the one thing she wants is her relationship with Josh. That comes at a price. These two took me on an emotional roller coaster throughout this book and I LOVED every single minute of it.

Josh Jameson is still strong alpha male we have all come to love and he was killing me with how much love he has for his queen, Adeline.

"To the world you are the Queen of England. Bu to me, you are everything."

Queen Adeline is a total badass. I wish I could say more about that but one you read the last 30% of the book you will completely understand.

"One doesn't clear smoke and mirrors, darling. One preserves them."

There is so much angst, drama and passion which is everything you want in a book. The British Monarchy is completely hidden behind all those smoke and mirrors and when they all come to light, it was like a bomb went off.

I have so much love for this story, the was a beautifully written, roller coaster ride of emotions, but so fitting for the American boy and his Queen.

I do not want to give any spoilers away, so I will say that I absolutely loved the conclusion to this duet. There's no other way to describe this book other than FANTASTIC!!! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, this story was a real page turner and it did not disappoint. It is definitely worth reading and stories like this is the reason why I fell in love with this authors writing to begin with. It's a must read.

His True Queen continues straight on from the shock ending of The Controversial Princess so it's best to read that book first, also it's a wonderful book and this follow up is as good if not better....okay to be honest this one is fantastic.
Adeline now finds herself Queen with all the protocols and expectations her role entails and the gilded cage she has entered makes all the previous difficulties of her relationship with Josh Jameson a Hollywood heartthrob now seemingly impossible.
Surrounded by sycophants and people with their own agenda it seems her and Josh will never have any kind of relationship, both are deeply in love and whilst Adeline realises her duty to the crown, Josh cannot see why they can't be together. With people working behind the scenes to stop them in their tracks and remove Josh from the equation they have a mountain of problems to climb.
With a host of devious characters, humour and passion...lots of passion, this is an incredibly satisfying read. Obviously you need to suspend belief with this royal family but you won't care at all!
I would love a follow up with Eddie's story.

I actually felt so weird about Adeline falling for Josh as i really didnt get the feel of their insta love or how a princess just submitted herself to a hollywood star at their first meet without any inhibitions..
However, i liked the whole set up and ending of the first book!!!
Adeline, the controversial Princess ends up to be the next in throne after the scandals that are revealed on the death of her dad and eldest brother in an air-accident..
Adeline never wanted to be a Queen, and even less now that she loves Josh, an american holly wood star!! However, in order to save her loved ones and royal family from a scandal, she becomes the Queen..
This book was not just about how Adeline fights over the odds in order to get her love... It shows how she grows as a character, as a queen... and nothing prepared me for the secrets and web of lies buried for sake of the throne ..
This book was so much better than the first book and i really loved that the author kept me guessing till the end!!

I loved Adeline, the girl made some very valid points, “I might be the Queen of England, but I’m still a woman.” I take my half-full wine glass and have a tiny sip. “And women talk.” I give her a friendly smile. “Just because we take on a job of this magnitude doesn’t change the fact that we are women.” Josh is one handsy man, “good. And I get to hold the royal *** I adore.” His hand falls to my bottom, cupping it over the smooth black satin of my dress. He gives it a little squeeze..." Josh could be so sweet, "...your status has never changed to me. You’ve always simply been mine.” I loved this book, and Josh the man was just as pushy as ever and I loved seeing Adeline grow into her potential.

God the drama

I was dying for this book after the way the last ended I was left shocked. The craziness that happened had me needing this book. Adeline has had to get her head around a lot and her life has changed so much since the last book. She thought life was hard then it's even worst now. There are so many secrets goin around her head it's hard for her to keep up at times. But she is starting to learn from her mother that there life is "Smoke and Mirrors".

Josh and Adeline's story gets even harder in this book but there love for each other just keeps getting stronger. Even when there apart there connection is strong it's trying to break the connection that's impossible. Josh is determined to get what he wants and if he has to do things that may put there relationship out to the public he will. He pushes Adeline so much but it's what she needs he is what she need. Josh knows her better than anyone and even when he make bold decision she can't help but luv it. My heart does go out to them they are so meant to be together but the world there in its just impossible.

I did enjoy this book I do think the first book was better but again like the first the last 25% had me in the edge of my seat. The twists and turns were brilliant and I have to say I didn't see what was coming. It was just so good I could believe what I was reading. Jodi really kept the twist locked tight. I did find that the story did get a lil boring in the middle there is only so much chasing 2 people can do. So that's where my attention got a lil lot but it did come back at full force thank god. There are a lot of characters that I luvd throughout this book Damon Eddie and Matilda were so great through your the whole duet. I would really luv Eddie to get a book after everything the guy has been through I want to know more about him. Damon is just the most loyal man ever the way he looked after Adeline was just so good. I really like him. I would really luv a book on Matilda as well. She is so funny and seems a lil quirky and the relationship she found I would luv more of that. So I m really hoping for them of them to. Overall I really enjoyed it and would recommend it. I m a big fan of this author and her books she is just brilliant her writing is great and she really knows how to keep you on edge and connect with her characters. I can't wait to see what she does next.

This is a must read continuing story of a princess turned queen and her American boy.

There are so many things that happen in this book, I can't begin to say without telling too much.
Just know it's one you cannot miss reading if you like a good plot twister.

This book is an amazing love story between Josh and Adeline. These two people go through so many struggles in their relationship but their love stands true. I couldn't read this book quick enough, the more you read the more you had to read. It is such a great book and I hate to see this story end. These two people are the perfect example of true love.

Boy oh boy what a ride! Smoke and Mirrors is a very appropriate name for this duet! It’s hard to believe that this book topped the first one but just wow. Whilst it was a little slower to start, the tension builds when so many secrets are uncovered along the way. There is a lot of drama, misunderstandings and so much scorching hot chemistry throughout the book, and the last 30% is absolutely explosive. An excellent read, superbly written.

I am secretly hoping that one day we get the stories of some of the side characters!

The first book ended, Adeline's entire world is shaken and something she never believed would be possibl it and she finds out some hiden secret of her family.Adeline is the Queen of England.She doesn't want to be Queen. Josh is man who she loves. He acceptable enough for dating a princess.but because she is the Queen it isn't proper for the Queen to date and get married to American comerner.She doesn't want to be the Queen.The forbidden relationship, because she was stousty to get married to Haydon but she doesn't love him,she loves Josh.Josh is Hollywood actor.When I started reading I couldn't put it down.Jodi Ellen Malpas is magnifysent writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work.You should definitely read this book.

A continuation of the events began in The Controversial Princess, you will definitely want to read that book before starting this one. Malpas continues to push the boundaries in this tempestuous romance story between a newly crowned queen and her secret, Hollywood star lover. Fans of Malpas will devour every last angsty minute, but others may side-eye some of the behavior that could be seen as problematic.

This book is one of the best things your going to read this year!

With such a crazy bad cliffhanger being at the end of The Controversial Princess I didn't think that Jodi could outshine that book with this His True Queen the concluding part of the (Smoke & Mirrors) duet, but I'm telling you now I just didn't know how totally wrong I could be, this has left me gobsmacked. This book is one huge pandora's box packed full to the brim of gasp worthy surprises, it's so totally epic!!!

I am utterly astounded and filled with so much awe for the writing talent of this author. I have already admired her work for some time from reading her previous books but this duet is in a totally different league from anything she has ever released before. After reading this book it will leave you reeling from having such a massive mess of emotions and thoughts to process.

The secrets, the drama and the sex is enough to blow your mind but it's the deep emotional push and pull that Adeline and Josh go through that got to me like a stab to the gut and it nearly sent me into a cardiac arrest from feeling all the trauma and turmoil as my connection to their story felt so very real. I actually shed tears for them which doesn't happen often when reading a book but I just couldn't stop them from falling.

Be prepared for an addictive read that will leave you utterly spent by the end, it is such an amazing story that is so very full of love and hope. I feel very much privileged to have been given the opportunity to read Josh and Adeline's story but I also feel so very lost without them now that it's done.

I'm giving it all the stars but deserves so many more.....
