Little Lunch: Triple Treats is the first book in a series based on the Australian show of the same name. I will say that I enjoyed the book more than the one show I watched. Little Lunch is what we call recess and snack time. This book has three short stores in it, so I would consider it an early chapter book. Each story highlights a different child. The first story follows Rory as he tries to find something to eat for Little Lunch because he has once again left his lunch box at home. In the second story, we follow the kids through Grandparents Day when Batttie doesn't think his grandfather is going to be able to show up because he's been sick. In the last story titled The Cake Sale we follow Melanie as she tries to sell slices of cake that she made to raise money for homeless puppies. There are some good lessons learned in each story. I liked the illustrations, which were black and white drawings/sketches, interspersed throughout the story, more than one on each page. The font is large and easy for young readers. My grandson and I read this book together, taking turns. He laughed at many of the antics and was quick to point out when they were doing something wrong. This is a cute series for late primary, early junior students.

Hey, Whatcha doing'? Everybody's movin'. It's time for Little Lunch. Sorry. I couldn't help myself but to sing the Little Lunch theme song as soon as I saw the covers to this book.

Little Lunch: Triple Threat is the first book in a series based on the Australian show of the same name. Little Lunch is what we in the States would call recess but with a morning snack. The book contains 3 short stories which are based on the episodes in the show. The book starts by introducing 6 primary school friends and their teacher whom the stories are about. The first story follows Rory as he try to find something to eat for Little Lunch because he has once again left his lunch box at home. In the second story, we follow the kids through Grandparents Day when Batttie doesn't think his grandfather is going to be able to show up because he's been sick. In the last story titled The Cake Sale we follow Melanie as she tries to sell slices of cake that she made to raise money for homeless puppies.

This book was just as hilarious as the show. The pictures throughout make the stories even more enjoyable. The book would be perfect for young readers ages 7-11. They would be great as an independent read and also as a read aloud since I read these to my daughters who are 7 and 9. I look forward to the other books in this series.

A fantastic start to an amazing series. Fun characters and fun storylines all bundled into one. Cannot wait to read more from this author.

In the states it is known as recess. In Australia apparently recess is known as little lunch. It is that mid-morning break that kids in elementary school get, before the main lunch time. It is only 15 minutes long. This is the first in a series of books about the adventures that the kids happen to get into in that short 15 minute break.

There are lots of pictures. And there are lots of silly, but plausible things that happen.

This book has three stories. One is about what happens when Rory forgets his snack, and tries to sneak out of school to buy one. One is about grandparents day, and how one grandparent wasn't going to be able to make it, and the third is about trying to raise money for puppies by selling a really wretched cake that is tasteless, because it has to be glutton, peanut, milk, egg and dairy free, because of kids' allergies.

It is an enjoyable book, and I think kids can relate to the kids and their problems.

This series was popular enough to have two seasons of Little Lunches made for TV, which are on Netflix in the States, and is actually rather amusing.

Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.
