Am I Yours is a cute story about a lost dinosaur egg. The little dinosaur inside is hoping to be found by his parents but since he's inside the egg no one knows what kinds of dinosaur he is. He is encountered by different dinosaurs and along the way we learn a little bit about them until he is finally returned to his own nest. Lovely colorful illustrations.

I received this book as an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
I am typically not a fan of rhyming books. However, the cadence and word choices were perfectly meshed in this book about a dinosaur egg looking for its family. The illustrations are bright and aesthetically appealing. A little dinosaur egg accidentally rolled away from its nest and is in a rush to find its family before the sun goes down. It rolls up to each different type of dinosaur asking if it’s theirs. Varying types of dinosaurs describe their features to see if they match the dinosaur inside the egg.
This book will allow children to pick up some dinosaur facts as the big dinosaurs describe their attributes in an attempt to see if the little dino in the egg looks like them. Children will love trying to figure out what kind of dinosaur is inside the egg. The warm family scene at the end tops the book off well.
Highly recommended.

'Am I yours?' is a funs tory. i read it with 6,7 and 3 yr olds. They all enjoyed it. The dinosaurs are all so colorful. I learned about few new types of dinosaurs. Its funny that every dinosaur talks to an egg. All the kids liked the part where the egg hatches and the whole family is together. Smooth illustrations. It was interesting to see a bit of the last dinosaur in each page. it made me peek back to see if there was a foreshadow of the coming dinsosaur. Kind of like the 'what do you see?'.
Nice twist on the 'are you my mother' and hints of 'what do you see'. There are little critters all over the place, which the kids had fun pointing out.

Children want to belong to families. It is part of knowing they are loved. The best picture book, from my childhood with that theme is Are you my mother. In that story, the child bird goes to all different animals, looking for someone that looks like her.

And like that story, in this story, there is an added layer of mystery, because the baby is still in the egg, and asks all different dinosaurs if they are its mother. Because we can't see inside the egg, each creature has to discribe what it looks like, and see if it matches what the being inside the egg looks like.

It is a cute book, with bright colors, and a nice rhyme. For kids that like dinosaurs, this might be fun. And since the baby is reunited in the end, everything works out.
