Ok read to help with various stories of the Bible. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the ARC of this book in return for my honest review. Receiving the book in this manner had no bearing on my rating.

On a personal level, I enjoyed this book as a fairly new Christian that is seeking more knowledgeable about the Bible. It is good for that purpose!

I loved this Bible. I haven't seen one written like this ever. I may look for one to purchase. I didn't want to put it down.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and was under no obligation to post a review.

It is quite a task to compress such a large work as the Bible into something that can be read in just an hour or so and still remain coherent particularly when not paraphrasing but by using sections of the original text. But this is what has been done fairly successfully with The One Hour Bible. Certainly there is much not included but cleverly, the ‘narrative arc’ and coherence of the Bible story is preserved even in a very abridged format.

Due to the fact that this book consists solely of the words of the Bible and does not contain context or explanation, it may not be ideal as an ‘academic’ introduction to Christianity but I don’t think that is its purpose. As a general overview for someone with little previous knowledge of the Bible who is new to the faith, this is a great place to start!

If like me the last time you looked at the bible was in Sunday school then this book is for you. I loved reconnecting with known stories and finally understanding other tales. This book is written in clear plain English and is an easy way to learn more about the stories In the bible. I really enjoyed this book.
