Maybe, I was not in the right headspace to read this book; I found It was confusing. I Might have to revisit this book again.

I finished this book 3 days ago and still can’t decide if I liked it or not.

The bad:
Needs some editing pronto. The version I read had some terrible errors. Wrong character names, people talking when it should have been a description and vice versa, words that didn’t make sense in the sentence. These things pull you out of the story and became very frustrating to me.

The characters are semi interesting. You have three MC’s, I guess. Two are likeable and that other, I’m not sure if he was meant to seem imbalanced but I was very concerned for his mental health and anger problems, even towards the people he’d been friends with for a very long time. Also, it was mentioned a few times about his past being the reason behind his actions but that was never explained which made him just an annoying character who I didn’t enjoy reading. If he showed up, I checked out.

I took the description to be more of a government project, cover-up type of story and this was more of a “hiding from the government/privacy” story. It’s about the lengths people will go to for their privacy and how far people would go to expose those in hiding. It’s supposed to take place in the future, maybe 20-30 years from now but it specifically mentions, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat – Do we really believe these will be the “go to” social media places in the future? I don’t and them being mentioned like that made me questions the world-building.

The Units, IMO are just people who don’t care what others think of them. They are everywhere and although the internet and social media has put everything in our faces, there are plenty of people who just don’t care what you think they should be doing/saying/wearing, just as there are people who don’t live on the internet.

What I liked: The female MC’s journey. She comes a long way in the story and I enjoyed seeing her get it.

I don’t know. I feel like there wasn’t much to this one. I thought there would be more and when there wasn’t I was left blah. I’m not sure I’d recommend it to anyone because I don’t really know how to describe it, however if the subject of privacy were to come up, I might suggest people read it. BUT please edit this poor thing.

Thank you Netgalley and Kerious Pve Series for the arc in return for my review.
