This was a great poetry book. I always absolutely enjoy the work from the Andrew McMeel group of poets and I can't wait to read more in the near future. I highly recommend it.

This poem anthology is overall a pretty good read. Some poems were definitely better than others but that was expected. It's definitely something I think other poetry lovers might enjoy.

This was such a lovely anthology! I'm quite a big fan of "instagram poetry" so I was quite excited to dive into this collection featuring many authors. It did not disappoint at all. I liked that it was broken down into sections.

Crown Anthology
by Lost Poets

Andrews McMeel Publishing

Poetry
Pub Date 18 Sep 2018

I am reviewing a copy of Crown Anthology through Andrews McMeel Publishing and Netgalley:

This book includes 100 voices and two hundred poems. But there is one underlying message, the message being every soul being royal.

In this anthology we find some new verse from some of the most prominent poets on Instagram, with a foreword by Tyler Knott Gregson one of the foremost authors of the movement.

The poems in this book celebrate self-love, self-worth and empowerment, these two hundred poems do just that. This collection offers a beautifully diverse set of voices.

I give Crown Anthology five out of five stars!

Happy Reading!

An interesting poetry collection. I liked roughly 50% of it and thought some were weak and questioned the inclusion of them.

I haven't read a poetry collection in a while and this was quite surprising - I didn't absolutely fall in love which was mildly sad but at the time there were at least 1-2 poems that felt like a thunderbolt in how much it struck me. The writing was beautiful and powerful and I'm sure there's something in here for everyone.

This anthology is definitely a mixed bag. Some of the poems resonate with me, some feel hollow, some aren’t very well written and others are a big wtf. The good thing is most of them seem short and the collection is remarkably easy to read through. The foreword by Tyler Knott Gregson was eye-roll worthy. A bit trite, to be honest. But then again I’ve never connected with his poetry. I feel as if some of the poems were trying too hard to be inspirational, while others rang truer to me. Of course, this is very personal and not everyone responds the same. I just expected to feel more and not less.

This poetry collection is one of the few that really resonated with me. If course, a collection of this depth and length can't be 100% on point, it is bound to have some poems, that I can't connect with, but someone else will and they might not like the ones I felt deeply about. Overall I enjoyed most of these poems. Many of them hold hope and empowering messages and they never seem cheap. All of them have this sense of reality, of truth, and I loved that.

I actually loved some of these poems so much, I constantly wanted to share them, so I will definitely get this collection for myself one day and might even gift it. It's a beautiful collection, where everything works together smoothly, while still having different styles. It's undoubtably a great piece of modern poetry.

This book is a really cool collection of poems from so many different authors. This flows together well and is a really great read. The foreword of this book is really good and I love Gregson's words. I think they really help set the tone for the entire collection.

There is a fine beauty in this book. The words spoke to me. They showed me how each poet is individually unique but the poetry meshes well together as an anthology. The romance plays out well in the mood and tones of each poem. I also felt a sense of pain from the words flowing in the poems. Well played, well played. Crown anthology has climbed into my heart, and I can't wait to read more from these poets.

I truly liked that this was so different than any other poetry book, with all kinds of poems. I think that everyone can get something different from this book.

Crown anthology is what happens when you have different people coming together to create worlds using words. I love me some royal stuff, not the hype, but the idea of power that comes with it and this collection was quite an interesting read because of the variety of content from different people.
Thank you Netgalley for the eARC.

Unfortunately, this book was a big disappointment. I really enjoy reading poetry & stuff like that... but this just didn’t click with me. I totally understand why many people liked this book, but for me it was just full of works I saw written many times before.

This is a wonderful anthology of work from modern-day poets. I discovered several poems among the two hundred in the book which resonated with me. All of them are excellent at inducing emotions in the reader. If you enjoy poetry, this is a must read!

Crown Anthologies is a collection of 205 poems from 100 online contributors who are a part of the Lost Poets, which was co-founded by Analog de Leon and Gabriel Sage. The topics in this compilation focus more on love, self-love, and empowerment; some of the poems have titles, while others are not and they are easy to comprehend and also quite relatable.

The book is divided into five parts: Tender Is The Night which contains 40 odes; Paradise Lost that has 35 poems; 36 odes in As I Lay Dying; The Sun Also Rises with 46 poems; and Look Homeward, Angel that has the most number of 48. The list of the artists is available in the index which contains their names and their respective Instagram usernames, which I found very useful if readers want to follow several of them.

There are almost 33% or 67 out of 205 poems that I've got to appreciate from this anthology. Although I wasn't able to enjoy over 100 poems in this book, I assume that other lovers of poetry might like them. Moreover, it is a great compilation that will certainly attract fellow millenials.

“there are a dozen things that make
a good poem
and none of them are really talents
or grammar
mostly just inhaling the words
falling in love with the person in them
and
realizing it is you”

A refreshing project of modern day poetry by the Lost Poets, This is a community that has curated many voices with the common goal of sharing hope and healing. With a variety of styles and diverse stories, there are many gems in the 200 poems in this book and there is bound to be at least one poem that you will connect with on a personal level.
