Far more accessible than Enard's Zone, which consists of one 517-page sentence, Tell Them of Battles, Kings, and Elephants is a beautifully told tale of a mostly fictional event in the life of Michelangelo, summoned to Constantinople by the Sultan to design a bridge over the Golden Horn. The often exquisite writing comes through in this excellent translation.

A book worthy of its amazing title. This will be a great addition to my personal and public libraries alike.
