Martina captivated me in so many ways with this recipe book. I tried most of them and they are fabulous.

The tagline for this book is My Recipe Playlist for Real Life and that is just what it is. Most of us have heard Martina McBride's music but we might not have known that she is a foodie too. This particular playlist is a cookbook of recipes and the drinks that go along with them. At the beginning of the book she list the cast of characters aka her family and a little details about each of them. It was a nice inside look into her family. Then she list her playlist. This can be songs to cook by if you will. It isn't all her favor songs but a nice mixture of music. This cookbook is definitely a cookbook for people with an adventurous pallet. Some of the offerings are baked olive cheese dip up to roasted maple cinnamon pecans.

I previewed a 65 page portion of Martina’s upcoming cookbook and I have to say, this looks like a winner! Not only does she provide some great recipes for entertaining, from drinks and food, but she also provides a play list for entertaining. I’m in!

We made the Vodka Limeade Cooler today and they were yummy! Can’t wait to try the Smoked Gouda Piemento Cheese next weekend. And Flavia’s Deviled Eggs? Similar to mine, but an option ingredient that I had not thought of before and can’t wait to add next time. You are going to love the recipes, as much as you friends are when they come over.

This collection contains a variety of recipes that is a great starting point or overall collection, however I didn't see any new recipes.

With that, the recipes are easy to follow, the anecdotes kept short and sweet, and the ingredients easy to find (mostly).

I wouldn't purchase this, just because I already have all of these recipes, but if you are looking for a decent, general cookbook this is a good choice. Plus, you can eat like Martina McBride!

If you want to have a drinks party and want to slow everyone getting totally plastered then you need this book. Lots of recipes for food you can eat while still clutching a cocktail. Lots of cocktail recipes too. Good photos of the finished food and drinks. Approve of her music list too.
Maybe not the book for me but who knows when I might need to entertain lots of movie stars or politicians!
Any thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley.

What's not to love about Martina McBride? Filled with wonderful recipes for entertaining, her new cookbook is no exception. The recipes are simple, yet elegant and the photographs are mouthwatering. There is even a suggested music playlist suitable for your next dinner party. I received a 65 page galley that was a sample of the book containing mostly appetizers and cocktails. But I'm sure the remaining portion of the book is equally as delectable and I may purchase it for myself. Anyone who enjoys entertaining guests should check out this cookbook for some lovely ideas.

Thank you to Net Galley and Oxmoor House for an electronic advance read of Martina's Kitchen Mix. I've loved Martina McBride for years, so I was happy to get this, but wondered if the cookbook would measure up.
It did. There's something about a country singer and a cookbook. I think the heart and personality just shines through. I loved that the recipes were simple and really ones that I'd try. Whether you know who Martina is, love her music, or you don't, you'll love this beautiful cookbook. I'm going to order a copy just so I can have a printed copy (the way I prefer my cookbooks.) This review was done in exchange for my honest opinion.

I would have loved to have read this book, but didn't realise that it was in PDF only, and was therefore unable to do so. I may purchase this book in the near future.

Martina McBride's cookbook MARTINA'S KITCHEN MIX is a collection of the singer's own recipes, as well as stories of her family and her time in the kitchen. Every recipe looks amazing, and this book would be a great addition to the cookbook collection of any cook, not just Martina McBride fans (though those are probably the target audience).

I met singer-entertainer Martina McBride backstage at a Garth Brooks’ concert when she was first starting out. She was gorgeous then and is still today, with that lovely spirit reflected in MARTINA’s KITCHEN MIX, her second cookbook.

This delicious guide to entertaining boasts more than 100 easy yummy recipes with the freshest ingredients and is truly one of the most beautiful cookbooks I’ve ever seen!

Martina grew up on a Kansas farm helping in the kitchen from a young age, so cooking comes naturally and entertaining is one of her passions. Recipes — one more delicious than the next — include her fave Grilled Shrimp Tacos with Chipotle Sauce and Slaw, her hubby’s Bacon-Wrapped Olives and her mother-in-law Flavia’s Deviled Eggs. Martina adds in “Ad Libs” ... tips for switching up a recipe ... and encourages cooks to use her recipes as a starting point, adding their own flavorful twists to feed a few or a full house. She also includes a playlist of songs to energize cooks as they work in the kitchen. Highly recommended!

Thanks to Meredith Special Interest Media/Books and NetGalley for the review copy. Opinions are fully mine.

In her cookbook to be released this fall, Martina's Kitchen Mix: My Recipe Playlist for Real Life, country superstar Martina McBride shares her passion other than singing: cooking meals for her family and friends to enjoy.

McBride's recipes reveal her predilection for entertaining and family gatherings centered around good food and great stories.

Having grown up in a Kansas farm, McBride is no stranger to the kitchen; even at an early age, she began helping her mother in preparing fresh-from-the-field ingredients. Over the years, her travels as a country music singer has exposed her to more gastronomic influences, particularly the use of organic foods and healthy diets, which she has applied to her home cooking.

I like the book's mixture of recipes and family insider stories, particularly the tweaks that McBride does on the recipes which she labeled "Adlibs." The book is by no means a strict stick-to-the-recipe cookbook - even the author improvises from time to time! It really does welcome the reader to McBride's kitchen and some aspects of her life. Plus, the food styling on the gorgeous photos that accompany some of the recipes are really superb.

Some of the ingredients may be expensive or hard-to-find here in my country, but home cooks can draw inspiration from the recipes for their own culinary masterpieces.

Martina's Kitchen Mix: My Recipe Playlist for Real Life, published by Oxmoor House will be released on October 30, 2018. It is currently available for pre-order on Amazon.com.

Thanks to NetGalley and Oxmoor House for the advanced copy of the ebook in exchange for an honest review.

This was every bit as good as I thought it would be! I loved Martina's stories, recipes and all of the beautiful pictures. Very nicely done.

I am a huge fan of Martina McBride, thus I was excited to check out this book. However, I found myself pretty disappointed.

To begin with, the book was really short. The kindle version was only around 80-90 pages, and that is including the introduction. Also, almost all of the recipes either included alcohol or coffee (Neither of which I even drink) or expensive meats and cheeses that many people cannot afford.

The pictures they had did look nice, though I do not believe there was a picture for all of the recipes.

I guess I may have been expecting a bit much since it is a celebrity cookbook, but I was really hoping it would be a gem instead of a letdown.
