I thought the book was refreshingly simple with pleasing illustrations. My active, 8-year-old son thought it was a little boring. I was hoping he's rather focus on the great messages in the book, but he didn't want to finish it. I still stand by my opinion, however, that it's great...maybe for a smaller child.

This book tried hard to be about inclusion, openness, kindness and ecology, but fell many times along the way.

For example, they say: "No Matter what you believe, whether a Christian, Muslim, Buddhist or Jew, living peacefully - cross my heart - is up to you." By only citing the 4 religions that they know of, the author excluded many religions. In this case, it would have been more tolerant and inclusive to remove the examples.

On another occasion, they say "Be proud of who you stand beside, love is love, don't ever hide". Well, it is way more complicated than that, and in many regions of the world, it is not safe to simply 'never hide'.

Overall, it felt that the author didn't have a clear understanding of the world, and showed sign of judgment where they were trying to be supportive.

This rhyming book gives parents an opportunity to open up an inspiring dialogue regarding the state of our world and our society. It relates how one person truly can make a significant change.

The simple message touches on racism, conflicts and climate change. It highlights the importance of showing love and acceptance to others around you and the importance of caring for our beloved earth... a place that we are all blessed to live upon.

"Our World is Cool" is simplistic, yet has a very dynamic message. The story is enriched by beautiful watercolour illustrations that drive the message of how living in peace and harmony can make a world of difference. It was inspired by Michele Obama's last speech as First Lady. It would make a perfect gift for children of any age and for expectant mothers as well. I highly recommend this heartwarming book that wins the argument (hands down) that YES.... our world is cool!

This is a very sweet rhyming picture book with beautiful watercolor style illustrations. It touches on many topics that relate to being a good person: respecting the environment, accepting people for who they are, finding joy in the little things, living peacefully, and making a positive change on the world.

Beautiful children's book! The message is simple - caring about others and our world. However the words are heartfelt, beautiful and touching. Simple yet lovely illustrations accompany the message without distraction. I plan to buy this book as gifts for my favorite little ones and expecting mothers.

Thank you, Golden Brick Road and NetGalley!

I mean, ehh *shrug emoji*. Reads with about as much substance as an inspirational poster series. Illustrations are pretty, but not show-stopping. It's not bad, it's just *shrug emoji.*

The pictures in this book are very gorgeous. The rhyming text directs children how to be good to our planet and each other. Very simple but a great message.
