When I caught a glimpse of Poppy and Isaiah in the previous book I knew I needed their story! The emotions are real, with lots of ups and downs, and back and forth. The angst is real, and I definitely wanted to shake both characters at multiple points in story.
I really love Isaiah as a character, because while he may have his faults and struggle with reading emotions of the people around him, he’s really struggling the same way we all are just at a different level. I just love the connection Poppy and Isaiah have, even though they are seen as such different people.

Poppy has loved Isaiah for the entire ten years that she’s been his personal assistant. When he decides to place an ad for a wife, things come to a head and they decide to marry.

Isaiah has emotion problems- he keeps them shut down. I felt like the author was hinting that he fell on the autism spectrum with perhaps Asberger’s, but that was never said and he really didn’t seem to be on the spectrum, to me.

The romance in this one was ok. Isaiah was a bit hard to root for, and Poppy took a lot.

I would have liked to see the fact that Poppy is black played up more. I felt this was an easily overlooked fact except for the use of a few words here and there...mahogany once, dark skin a few time is all. On the one hand, I’m glad this was not a story about racism, on the other hand I felt like this was almost hidden.

I loved Poppy the girl was sassy as heck, “no,” she said. “I drove over with your brother because I had *** with him last night.” Then she swept out of the room and stomped down the hall toward her office. He heard the door slam decisively behind her. Two heads swiveled toward him, wide eyes on his face." I liked this book, I liked how Poppy kept Isaiah on his toes.

I absolutely loved Want Me, Cowboy! Poppy Sinclair is one of my favorite characters this year. The author's description of her style brought her to life even more. If it weren't for Poppy, Isaiah Grayson would come across as a stuffy, bore! At first it seems as though Poppy allows herself to be a doormat, but her strength comes through at just the right moment. I loved that she was strong, yet soft. Her devotion and dedication to Isaiah made this story. I would overwhelmingly recommend this book.

Poppy Sinclair kept her feelings for Isaiah Grayson secret for a decade. When her infuriatingly gorgeous Stetson-wearing boss enlists her help in finding him a convenient wife, she threatens to quit. Until Isaiah counters with an interesting proposal: Why doesn’t she marry him? Can she say yes to sharing his life and his bed, but not his heart?

Love the author Maisey Yates. The plotted was interesting both Poppy and Isaiah has commitment issues to figure out. The book was a fast read and enjoy.

I usually like Maisey Yates books. This one, no. The hero was basically a bully. He repeatedly ignored the word "no" (and no, it doesn't make it better that she was conflicted. He doesn't know her better than she knows herself. "No" is a complete sentence and needs to be respected).

HE THREATENS TO TRY TO TAKE FULL CUSTODY OF THEIR UNBORN CHILD BECAUSE SHE SAYS SHE DOESN'T WANT TO MARRY HIM.

This is not okay. It's not made okay because he confesses later he didn't mean it. None of his behavior is made okay because he's (not diagnosed as but presented as) autistic.

Nope, nope, nope. All the nope.

Wealthy rancher Isaiah is looking for a wife so he does what any logical practical man with limited time might do. He puts an ad in the paper and then asks his assistant Poppy to interview the best candidates. Poppy is outraged to have to perform this task mostly because she has been in love with him for years. After she interviews some unsuccessful candidates she is furious at him for involving her in the project. Isaiah realizes after a while that Poppy is what he's really been looking for all along. I really enjoyed the dynamics between the two main characters and how their relationship progresses.

I thought this was so good! Poppy and Isaiah were such a good match, their chemistry was off-the-charts. I love how she accepted him for who he was and that he called her out on her relationship hang-ups as well. I only wish the book was longer, I would have read at least another 100 pages of their story. Now, I want to check out some of Maisey Yates' other novels.

Maisey Yates I don't think can ever fail me she always bring the romance and emotions in all her book, and Want Me, Cowboy was no different.
Poppy and Isaiah are perfect for each other and the love story is great, it takes them a bit to figure out they are perfect together, but once they do it is an epic HEA! A total must read Maisey book.
