I usually love Harlequin Intrigue novels. They are always a bit of fun and a good escape from day to day life but Delta Force Defender did not come close to being as interesting and enjoyable. It was so, so boring. I literally didn't care about any of it. the characters were dull, the mystery was dull and the romance was dull.

Most of the actions of the characters made little sense to me. I couldn't understand why she trusted him so immediately and why he was so happy to let things take he course they did. It was over the top but not in a remotely interesting way.

The romance was alright I guess apart from the heavy amounts of cheese. At one point he compares her orgasms to opening up like a butterfly. If that kind of thing floats your boat then I guess you might like this. It most definitely isn't mine. I can deal with rough sex, dirty sex, loving sex but sex which is portrayed as some mind altering miracle...nope.

I am glad to have put this one behind me and will carry on to the next intrigue novel which I no doubt will enjoy a lot more.

The story didn't draw me in as much as I hoped it would. There were times that Author lost me and I wanted to DNF but I struggled through.

Delta Force Defender by Carol Ericson is the first book in the Red. White, and Built pumped up series. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Cam and Martha. They played well off one another. Martha is a CIA agent who found incriminating emails and turned them over. Those emails happen to incriminate Cam's superior officer. Whom he would defend with everything he has. This book is interesting and intense.

Martha is a CIA agent that found some questionable emails that implicate a Delta Force member that causes him to run. But figures something is up about those emails and makes a secret copy. Delta Force member Cam knows his friend isn't guilt and is working on proving his friends innocence and catching who is behind it, first he must go to the person who made those emails known Martha. With bodies and fishy evidences Martha is no longer safe and with the help of Cam will find out who is behind everything.

From start to end there was so much going on that'll leave the readers hooked. I loved that there was barely a moment peace keeping me wanting to know more, find out who is behind this mess. I couldn't help but be curious what else would come to light, or if someone would come after Martha. There was also bit of romance that was thrown into this book and what I liked about it was that this whole book wasn't centered around it. There was a steamy scene or two but it wasn't where everything revolved around whether or not these two got together, there was the whole mystery going on and they really had to be kept on their toes. Overall this was a pretty great book I really enjoyed it.

Meh. I didn't care for the writing style or the characters. I thought both Cam and Martha were flat. The plot is interesting (framing a guy, threatening emails, etc) but that was the only good thing really.

This wasn't an easy book to read to be honest. The synopsis sounded interesting and every so often Harlequin has some really good Intrigue stories but this one has me scratching my head.

Cam Sutton comes out of now where and decides to help the CIA translator Martha Drake who's fathers past and her looks have her question everything that comes out of the handsome Delta Forces mouth.

Everything about this book comes of as personal attacks to each other Martha who is wealth and well educated and Cam who is the opposite and can't read due to his dyslexia. Martha has a lack of self confidence and Cam thinks she is hot and is attracted to a Intelligence than looks.

Most of the story about them trying to figure each other out and less about why someone is after Martha or his Military commander. There is sex but honestly it is really uncomfortable and removes readers from the adventure or the person who is trying to destroy everything about Martha and the life she created.

The story has a moral to it don't judge a book by its cover but it gets lost in the all inner monologue and awkward moments.

Thank you to Netgllaey and the publisher Harlequin Intrigue for the advance copy of Carol Ericson Delta Force Defender

Very good book!! This is Cam and Martha book, cam is a military man trying to get evidence to clear his commanding officer, I'm assuming this story line has been going on ,I didn't feel lost because I didn't read any other books in this series but I'm definitely interested in reading them now! Martha works for the CIA and she's the one that turned in the evidence against the commanding officer she's not sure why the evidence was sent to her to begin with?! That's how these two meet! It really was a great story and I highly recommend it! Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin for sharing this book with me!
