I really enjoyed this book! It was fast paced and flowed nicely. The turn of events were done beautifully and the ending was terrific!

I found this book a little difficult to get into at first. A little clumsy, a little confusing, but the story drew me in and I rather enjoyed it by the end. There were a number of things that were too vague or convenient for my tastes, but overall a good story.

Seattle detective and alpha werewolf, Derek Miller loyalty is tested when he meets Riley Price and a feral bond instantly forms, for he must keep the existence of his kind secret at all costs. When the forces of darkness have Riley in their sights, Derek must choose between the Were code of silence and saving the woman who’s ignited his desire.

This werewolf romance sucks readers right into the story with lots of suspense and red hot chemistry. The characters are strong, compelling and easily capture the readers’ attention and while the attraction is instant and sizzles with electricity, the relationship is hampered by the Were code of silence that must be kept. Lots of turbulent emotions flow from the pages including passion, confusion, doubt, surprise, fear, laughter and hope, which really makes the story a well-rounded and balanced romance that is believable.

The fast pace keeps readers on the edge of their seat with lots of suspense, surprising twists and hidden secrets and life altering revelations. Readers may feel that some there are some events that could have been expanded on to give a more satisfying feeling, for example: why did Riley’s parents hide the truth from her? And did the deal with the vampire queen work? But while these questions are not answered completely (could there be another book in the future?), they are answered and the story is one that readers can really sink their teeth into and enjoy.

This was another really interesting werewolf book by Linda Thomas-Sundstrom. The story set up in the first few pages is a bit wordy, but it paints a picture of an intriguing world of supernatural beings in modern day Seattle. I love these urban paranormal romances because of the contrast between modern culture and an ancient, secret type of creature like a werewolf or vampire. The set-up about the vampire queen ruling Seattle really sucked me in.

I really liked the immediate sexual tension between the hero and the heroine—it was intense and you just knew they were fated to be together. The hero’s backstory gave him really good reason not to be with her, and that gave the love story good romanctic conflict.

The middle sagged a bit for me and I’m not entirely sure why, but it didn’t stop me from reading, and the ending is fast-paced and made me stay up late to finish the book.

Please tell me there's more!!
That's the only issue I have against this story. I didn't want it to end!

There are a shipload of questions I need answered.

Was Riley able to rid herself of the other soul?

Did the vampire Prime tell the truth?

Were Derek & Riley able to produce any adorable Were-babies?

And there are more questions on my list.

I NEED TO KNOW!!!

Riley is your normal woman but one night she's nearly attacked only be saved by Derek. A cop but also an Alpha werewolf. He and a few of his friends keep the streets safe but when he saves Riley.... everything changes, there is something about her that he's drawn to.

I'm in love with Derek. He's a great leading man for sure and Riley is perfect for him! This story kept me flipping pages way past my bedtime, the formatting was a little weird but it's an ARC and I'm sure it will be fixed, so no worries there.

Overall, this is a great paranormal romance that has lots of action and steam but also some great character development.

Riley is a psychologist and new to the Seattle area. While going home one night she thinks she hears howling so she decides to follow it. But is then attacked and two men come to her rescue. Derek is a werewolf, Alpha of his pack, and a cop. He and a couple of pack mates patrol the streets to keep humans and everyone safe. When he finds Riley, he can smell she’s different but can’t figure out why. Then Riley is put in jeopardy and Derek can’t stay away from her and will protect her with his life.
This story got good at the end. The first was so confusing and it didn’t help that the dialogue for the main characters was all together. But if you like werewolves, secrets and action this is for you. ( Hopefully the errors and the run together dialogue will be fixed before published ).
