When I hear "hedge funds", I think math and tend to wander off. Don't, because this book is more than math, or it's cover. Maxine's life was going great. She was happy, it was all as she'd hoped, and then it happened. Her husband literally threw her overboard. What? Why? Is he trying to kill her? Protect her? With him gone, she has so many questions and she's not sure he's dead. Would you be? Enter a ton of action and suspense. Did her husband know a "red" secret and that's why he's gone? If she has to know that to have answers, will she die too? Twists, turns, did I mention suspense? Easily imagined as a film, this was a soundly gripping read.

Thanks to Net Galley for my copy of this book.

I liked this story but it took me awhile to get into the plot and thrill. This is a suspenseful law enforcement story with a few twist and turns. Book was originally published in 2015. Hedge funds and traders that deal with China are the main thrust of the book. Maxine survives an explosion on a boat and is determined to find out if her husband was trying to kill her or save her. Good buildup of plot in that line with several other themes along side. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.
